May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

I feel like I have been in the 170's forever lol... I am finally 169. I haven't been this small since high school. My blood pressure is no longer an issue and my resting heart rate is now in the 80's instead of the high 90's. I feel great and I can finally wear size 10-12. I feel like I am dreaming lol .... I have been at a stall for a while but I'm ok with that. .... For now lol. since surgery at 232 I have lost 63 pounds

    hair loss

I could make a wig from the hair that falls out every time I get out if the shower!! I am hoping that it slows down soon. I too had thick hair so it is not too noticeable, but it scares me to see all that come out of my head .... That and my hair is everywhere lol

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

How long does a stall usually last? I have been at the same weight for 3 weeks. I am hoping it is a normal process and I need to be happy about the 48lbs I lost, but when it came off so quick and then a dead halt... I'm just a little frustrated. I started at 232. Maybe someone else has had a similar experience. Congrats to everyone!! Your stories give me so much hope!!

Hi! I was sleeved on the 14th... I have lost 46 lbs so far. I am having a hard time lately with vomiting. For some reason I am struggling to keep food down. My husband, who was sleeved 4/17 has lost 73lbs and he has no issues...go figure lol. I was curious if anyone else was struggling with this and had any advice. Thanks in advance and congrats to you all!!

Let's get to know each other, shall we?

Hi everyone. I'm 35, mother to 2 boys ages 10 & 4. I am a 4th grade teacher and my husband and I also opened a crawfish boil n go this year. My life is crazy right now. I thought that once we opened our business, I would be too busy and lose weight as a bonus plan lol... This did not happen. I gained weight...like always. I started gaining weight in college. I carry most of my weight around my belly. I joke that I look like a potato on sticks. I'm 5'4 and at 232 I'm not a very happy with myself. My husband was at 340 at 6ft when he had his sleeve last month. He got on the scale and he was 295!!! I'm so proud of him. I had my surgery May 14th. It was a struggle getting here. On May 6th my doctors office called to tell me that my insurance would not cover my procedure anymore and they were sorry. I was devastated! I cried and called to beg anyone at the hospital, insurance company, our HR dept., etc... Everyone just said sorry. So now I was watching my husband drop weight daily (I know that sounds awful, but I'm being honest) and all I could do was cry. I really thought it was the end of the road for me. I have PCOS and it is harder to lose weight (at least for me) I had tried it all... 3days of misery and the doctor's office called me back. My insurance changed their mind. Since I was pre-approved before they allowed me to continue. Good thing cause my liquid diet started the next day lol. I am on my way to a new life and if anything that little bump in the road just solidified how much I really wanted this procedure. I only took 2days off of work and I'm back to both jobs. Not 100% but getting there. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all and learning from each other! Best of luck to you all!!

    May 8-14 2013 sleevers represent!

Hi! My surgery was Tuesday, May 14th. How are you ladies doing? 232# pre-surgery 150# goal
  12. Hi! I just had my surgery(sleeve)Tuesday. My husband had his done last month. He is already down 40pounds! Im so proud of him, and cant wait to start having some of the same results (although much slower lol) I'm really looking for any tips that I can pass along to him as well as myself. I teach 4th grade and we own a crawfish boil n go that we run together after our day jobs. Today I returned to work (both jobs) and I was moving very slow to say the least. I'm really excited to read and learn about all of your amazing stories and I appreciate any advice you can give me. Oh, I also have 10 &4 year old boys, so if anyone has any advice or warnings.... I pray the worst is behind me, but if there is anything you can help me prepare for that would be awesome!! Tara

Day 3 of my new life

Oh! I completely forgot to tell y'all the craziest part of my journey... About 8 years ago, my sister in law had the gastric by-pass done. She had some other health conditions and by some crazy and unfortunate accident she passed away. Needless to say, my family was not all that excited when I told them I was entertaining the thought of having the sleeve done. Like I said above... My husband just did it and he has had wonderful experiences. I was all set to go, my family had come to terms with it, and I was about to start my pre-op liquid diet when I got a phone call from the dr's office. They informed me that my insurance no longer covered the procedure as of May 1. I was so upset. I cried for 2 days. I didn't know how I was supposed to loose this weight now. I have tried it ALL and it never lasted long if it ever did work. I made phone calls to everyone involved trying to get them to change their minds... I was pre-approved!!! How could they do that to me??? A few days later my dr's office called and said that my insurance company was in the process of reviewing all of those who were pre-approved already and my surgery was back on! I can't explain how amazing it was to hear those words. I'm a big believer in "all things happen for a reason" and to be honest, I was really scared to have this surgery before. I needed the support of my family and it was hard for them...until they saw how much it meant to me when I was told no. I no longer dread my future or the scale. I look forward to tomorrow and I finally feel in control!! Sorry if its a little long, It's all still really new Tara
