You look awesome DeeDee! May I ask what brought you to the hospital last night? -
My surgeon typically discharges people after one night in the hospital but will allow people to stay an additional night should they feel they need it. Did you think one night was good? Or is two better?

Contact Dr Paul's office tomorrow. They may have a medically supervised program through their office.

The seminar and the surgeons practice may be a wealth of information for you. My surgeons practice has been doing this for a long time and the woman that deals with the financial end of things really seems to have a good grasp on what each of the insurances require. You are definitely right though, things do vary from dr-to-dr and insurance-to-insurance. It seems as though an awful lot of insurance companies are requiring the 6 mth medically supervised diet.

Bye bye Lane Bryant!
megancd replied to Nursebarbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love your letter to Lane Bryant! And Yes, Target used to have a lot more plus size clothes. I just made an entry into my journal entitled: What I want to do after surgery... One my wants- to shop at any store in the mall. -
You've definitely come to the right place! Where are you from? That way perhaps a member in your area can provide some recommendations regarding surgeons/program, etc. Also, the search function is wonderful. You can look up so much information on so many sleeve related topics. My family was not super supportive when I first mentioned my decision to pursue surgery but have since come around as I shared not only my reasons for having surgery but also just general information on the surgery itself.

Thank you for your thoughts on this. I'll play it by ear and see how I feel. My surgery isn't until 1:00 on Tuesday, July 2nd so I bet Wednesday will come quickly.

Surgery tomorrow!
megancd replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! You are going to be super happy in the morning when you get to go home to your own bed. I'm getting geared up for my surgery in under two weeks. Just picked up the 7 prescriptions the dr sent in along with the over the counter supplements and liquid Tylenol. Yikes! I'm hoping I won't need any of this stuff. How has your pain and nausea been? -
Surgery tomorrow!

I am so glad that you are doing well. Thank you for keeping us posted. Hopefully, either you or the roommate gets relocated. When might they discharge you? -
I'm so excited everyone! The surgical coordinator called today and said that she could pencil me in for surgery on July 2nd. Less than 2 weeks away! I am so excited but at the same time reality is setting in along with some nerves. I can't wait to be a success story like the many I read about on here. Is there anyone else being sleeved on July 2nd that might want to be buddies with me?
-
Thank you! and I'm glad that we have the same date. I hope that your revision goes super smooth and that this is the last time you have to undergo a procedure. About a year ago I really considered the band but then I guess I got cold feet and didn't pursue it. I am very much looking forward to the sleeve. I'm hoping that for the first time in my life I can actually be a normal size. In the past decade alone I lost about 50 lbs with Weight Watchers then gained back 60. Then I lost about 50 lbs with Medical Weight Loss Clinic then gained back those 50. Then I lost 60 lbs with Weight Watchers + Phentermine only to gain back 100. I'm so over this extreme yoyo dieting. I pray that the sleeve is the tool to help me succeed and stay that way.
