I'll have to try it. Anything to diversify. Food fatigue is setting in.

Never heard of pb2 but the consistency is ok if I take it slow. My stony field Greek yogurt has 15 g of sugar and 13 g of protein so I figured it couldn't be any worse. Lol

I'm in week three of postop, my nutritionist wants me to eat 100 g of protein a day, yikes! I'm barely eating 60 g as it is today. I have some reduced fat peanut butter and was wondering it's only 5 g of sugar but 7 g of protein is this unacceptable?

I just had my two week post op visit and was told I'm doing good. Had a couple of incision sites that were infected but antibiotics cleared that up. I started yogurt and soup early, my nut said it was ok as long as I could tolerate it. I've lost 18lbs so I'm happy and I'm walking about 1/4 mile a day. My only concern is I like the Greek yogurt by stony field (blueberry flavor) and my nut says its a good source of protein (13 grams) however I don't think either of us realized that each cup has 15 grams of sugar! Is that too much or will it be ok? I haven't heard back from the Dr. Office yet.

What is a drain? I don't remember having one.

I'm in my 2nd week and it was my daughters 11th bday today. They had a chocolate ice cream cake with chocolate ganache (my favorite) and I didn't feel even a little tempted for a taste! For those of you getting out of or still in the hospital the 1st and 2nd day was bad ( I think it's a combo of the anesthesia and morphine that made me feel bad) the third day is a huge improvement! Hang in there, it gets better every day (overall, of course).

I had the same problem (8 days post op), I broke down today and had some cream of mushroom Soup and cottage cheese. I checked with my doc and was told to take it slow. My biggest problem was the chocolate/vanilla Protein drinks. I really struggle with those and have put them in a small glass with ice to make it more palatable. Good luck though it will get better!

It feels like lead when it hits my stomach and makes me nauseous. I had some broth this evening and tomorrow I'll try a fruit flavored Protein Drink. It was the vanilla and chocolate that weren't going down all that well.

So, I'm on day 6, how is everyone's hourly movement? I try to get up every hour for the 10 or 15 minutes (but not always) and much of the time I'm still in bed as it is uncomfortable to sit up for any length of time.

So, I was sleeved on the 11th and released on the 13th, I had a low grade fever yesterday and felt crummy. Today I feel better! I'm drinking two of those protein shake "juice" boxes, a 32 oz propel zero and about 32oz of water, but I still feel hungry, is this normal or am I just having psychological cravings?
-
Is this normal and will I need to return to the hospital?

Pulse is a little fast but not that noticeable, no pus that I can see. Bruising around my upper right incision (gallbladder removal site) has doubled in size to about a tennis ball.

Just talked to Doc, he wanted me to take liquid Tylenol and keep an eye on it through the night, as well as watch my surgical sites. He said that if its unchanged in the am that I should head back to the hospital. Regarding the UTI, my urine has been quite darker than normal, is that an indicator? Thanks

I'm on my 4th day and feel somewhat better. I've been drinking 2-3 protein boxes and about 2 tall glasses of ice water along with several sugar free popsicles. Now I'm feeling a bit feverish but am not running a fever, should I be concerned?
-
Warm and kind of that feeling you get when you're about to run a fever

So I'm just a few weeks away from surgery and I was wondering if there are other 50+ yr old men who would ease my fears about this surgery and my age. Like most men, I carry. The majority of my weight in my belly and one of many of my concerns is that the fat tissue is so tightly packed that they'll have trouble maneuvering around even with the gas. I'm 6' 4" 366 lbs and a BMI of 46. Thanks fellas.
