Well I don't have any answer about this. I am 5 1/2 months post op and started losing a little after surgery but about 3 months it started clogging the shower drain and it is not slowing at all, actually the last couple of days have been the worst. Had to clean out the drain twice to get the water to go down. Everything you read says it's temporary and it starts at the 3 month post op and then stops anywhere from 6-9 months. I asked a beautician friend of mine about any products that might work and when i get an answer I will let you all know

Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I don't think it has alot to do with amount of weight one needs to lose but one's own body and metabolism. I could stand to lose 100 pounds, that is my wishful thinking goal. I would be happy with anything under 150. As far as losing slow, there was a group of us that had the surgery within 2 days of each other. Everybody at the first weight in, after surgery, dropped 10 pounds or more, me I lost 4 pounds. It has been that way ever since. My average is 2 pounds a week, where most others will lose closer to 5 pounds. At first it was really frustrating but this is my journey and as long as the numbers are going down on the scale then I'm happy. As far as the skin, I believe I have faired better than others. The problem I'm having is the hair loss. I have to clean out the shower drain every morning so the water can drain. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG THIS LASTS? I think I'm gonna end up bald -

Hello my vertically challenged friends. I would love to hear some updates on everyone's journey. I have lost slowly but that is fine with me as long as it is coming off. I am down a total of 50 pounds in 4 months. At first I was really into walking and exercising and now I have hit a not so active time. I have to get myself motivated to get moving. I'm not a lucky one with this surgery, I have had to work to lose weight it just isn't falling off. So I need some words of wisdom. I have 50 more pounds to lose and need some encouragement. I have always been one to sabotage myself and seems like I'm doing it again. Anyone else having issues with this? -

I didn't have too much problem with food sticking in my throat as with medication capsules. I had a hiatal hernia repair and I feel this was the main culpret but the surgeon doesn't agree. If you surgery was recently maybe you still have some swelling. I think it takes 6-8 weeks to be able to tolerate most foods. Now 3 months out and I can eat anything. Hope this helps. -

I think all of us completely understand the short and round body type. Great job on the weight loss, 45 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. I am also slow at getting the scale to move, 35 pounds in 3 months. But I will gladly take the slow moving scale down then the fast moving scale up. No regrets Keep up the good work!! -

This thread has been really quiet lately. I'm 2 weeks out and have lost 6 pounds so far. A little discouraged when I see all of the big numbers on here but I know it will come in time. Hope everyone is doing well <3 -

One week post-op here too. Feeling great physically but mentally very crabby. Wanting food, I know it is head hunger but so tired of protein shakes and blended cottage cheese and yogurt. I wish it wasn't raining so I could go for a walk and get my mind on something else. I also don't know if it's good to read all the weight loss numbers feeling frustrated with my couple of pounds when others are losing so much. -

Anyone else sleeved Monday may 20
Dawn0429 replied to sissytx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved on the 20th. No problems with nausea or pain. I am having issues with constipation and gas bubbles. No heartburn but constant gas bubbles rumbling. I think constipation is the worse. Anyone else? -
Post-Op Day 5: Worried I feel too normal!
Dawn0429 replied to crosseyedtango's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was sleeved on the 20th and have had a very constant gassy feeling not heartburn but gas bubbles all the time. Wondering if it is normal too? -
I was also sleeved on Monday. I do have additional bruising but it is due to the Lovenox shots they give in the stomach so you don't get blood clots after surgery. My bruising is about a 50 cent piece in size on my lower abdomen . I also have bruising around each surgical site that is a little larger than a quarter. Hope this helps. If it is much larger then that she might need to contact her surgeon.

Hello, Loved reading that there are others in my same situation. I was sleeved on May 20th so just 5 days post op. HW was 229 and SW was 219. Will have my follow up appointment on the 30th. The only problem I'm having is all of the gas bubbles when I eat or drink. Not so much nausea just gas pressure. I can hear all of the rumbling all of the time, kinda weird. Still taking a small amount of pain meds but tapering off of them. Able to go for walks without feeling bad, yea me. Congratulations to everyone and their individual successes and those to come Very Inspired!!!! -

HI, my surgery is also on May 20th, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I have been a nurse of some sort for 28 years. From CNA, LPN to RN. Have worked in geriatrics, psych and now the wonderful world of insurance. Wouldn't change anything. I love my life, now time to love myself even more, and enjoy life instead of trying to avoid it due to my size and making excuses why I don't want to do things. As a nurse I found it difficult to explain or justify why I was overweight since I was educated on what I needed to do and the consequences of my actions. So I decided it was time to do something about it. Hoping this is the answer Good Luck Everyone !!! -

May 20th, 15 days to go, seems like a long time. They have me on what they consider the fast track, 2 1/2 weeks of pre op education. Hoping I can lose the required 15 pounds by the 19th doing the shakes? Not too confident
