I agree. However, I think a lot of heavier people think they are big boned when they aren't. For my $0.02 I suggest you pick a number in the middle and see how you like it once you get there. Personally, I have hit a thin weight a number of times in the past (I'm a yo-yo). I found that I look OK at 140, even better at 135, and terrific at 125-130. That's when I discovered that I'm not big boned

GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, around $5 a bottle. Best to try it first before ordering a case online. It's great to have a break from the mainstream powders and shakes. Some people mix it with Crystal Light or G2 to improve the flavor.

Glue for me and it was great. The scars are minimal ever after only 5 weeks.

I used to love carbonated drinks like sparkling water, beer, kombucha. Now one tiny sip of carbonation makes me ill. I let them go flat then drink them, like flat diet gingerale. My kombucha won't go flat, though, too many little microbes keeping it happy.

Personally I'm at 15 minutes before, but I wait an hour afterwards or I feel sick piling liquids on top of the solid food. For me, it doesn't run through at that point, it just comes back up (TMI).

I agree that PB can be a slider. But, as long as you are staying within your fat and carb limits it works for me. I have nut butter a couple of times a week (sunflower, almond or peanut - they have the highest protein of the butters I've found so far). Natural nut butters are so good for you (if you can limit yourself to a tablespoon LOL). Everything in moderation!

I just googled it and some people with the bypass have problems with peanut butter. Perhaps your nut is unaware of the more subtle differences between VSG and bypass nutrition.

No idea. I'm allowed peanut butter. No crunchy at this point (smooth only) but by 6 months crunchy is OK. PB2, a powdered peanut butter with much lower fat, is also a tasty treat. You might want to ask them their reasoning. My dr office is a Center of Excellence (not sure about Kaiser), so that might be something you could get clarification on.

I had beans starting week 3 and no problems. In fact, they continue to be one of my "safe" foods along with tuna and yogurt, that won't make me sick. They've got fiber, too, which is a good thing to get in with all the protein and few vegs during this time.

Suggestion: more sex! The more often you have sex the smaller amount of ...er..."liquid" will be available. If you do it daily, it will only be a small amount that will fit nicely into your sleeve

Socorro here! I used Dr. Jorge Acosta in El Paso at the Del Sol Bariatric Center. Sleeved 8/12/13.

I have some ready to go for when I'm cleared, but haven't used them yet. Hopefully someone here has ideas. I think they are nutty tasting so you can sprinkle them on things (yogurt, casseroles).

Has anyone chewed and spit out food during liquid phase?
NMJG replied to morgan21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't actually do it, but I've sure thought about it! Right now (week 5) I couldn't get down pizza or steak but chewing it sounds really good. Be strong -
That happened to me when I lost a ton of weight 10 years ago. Always cold. I took lots of hot baths and always wore socks.

Is 4oz at once to much
NMJG replied to zachprice502's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could do that too. When you get to soft foods and solids it changes. -
what is so bad about regular cheese?
NMJG replied to penman53's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I eat both kinds of cheese and have kept calories low. After all, you really can't eat that much (not like before when I would put away 1/4 lb in 15 minutes). I love cheese. Good source of calcium, too. Remember that hard cheese has lower calories than soft or semisoft cheese if you are worried. Just keep it to an ounce at a time. -

Hope you are feeling better now!

Me too. It goes away if I eat. Doesn't feel like hunger, but it is rather unpleasant. I find myself eating too fast when i'm like this, too, so I have to pay attention and slow down or I make myself sick.

Great job! You should be proud! -
I just use one at a time, didn't know about doubling them up. Not too expensive. I think we got them at Walgreens.
