    Coffee Cravings!

I adore pumpkin spice lattes and gingerbread lattes. They don't make them sugar free
  2. I second Lipstick. Go with your friends but stick to sparkling water with lime or a diet coke (which you will be giving up for a long time). I love to drink but there is a time and place for everything. Don't sabotage yourself this early.
  3. At 7 weeks I average around 700 calories a day. You shouldn't necessarily set a calorie goal, though, from what I understand. Instead it is supposed to be better to set your goals for grams of protein, carbs, fat, etc. At our clinic, the nut has us on the following per day: 80 g protein (big exercisers and men may need more) 60 g max carbs (no more than 20 g at one time) 30 g max fats 10 g fiber (I added that one in myself) For me, this works out to around 800 calories a day. I still rarely reach that much. I get in my protein, but fall short on carbs and fats.
  4. Talk to your doctor. It could be several things, not just one thing. GasX never hurts, though. I should have stock in GasX company.
  5. I have migraines and biotin did not make them worse, but everyone is different. Try Swanson's Hair Skin & Nails Vitamins - no biotin.
  6. Great advice. Switching things up is a great idea, be it food, exercise, etc. Try going vegetarian for a couple of weeks, that should shake things up (still get in your protein!). Try more Water (10 cups a day). Add in a 5 or 10 minute run if you are not a runner. Try lifting some weights for a few weeks. Some people like the 5:2 program (see other posts about that).
  7. It gets better, really. I drink almost normally now. Just can't chug like I used to, but others can.
  8. just out of curiosity, did you ever stall? I didn't. I wonder if fast losers stall more frequently than slow losers....
  9. I'm a slow loser, too, but from what I am reading, the slow losers are losing mostly real fat, not fat and muscle. Next time you are at your nut's have them check your lean mass. Yay for slow losers! Congrats to you on your accomplishment!

    Bread!

I have 1/2 slice of rye toast once a week or so. No problems with it. I couldn't eat more than that, honestly. Haven't had a problem with tortillas. Am now trying to use low-carb high fiber tortillas - I don't eat them very often. Starches fill me up too much to eat my protein. Oddly enough, I don't crave bread and starches any longer, either.

    ugh

Actually, I think if you are having doubts you should postpone your surgery. It's like getting married. If you have doubts, don't do it. And with a sleeve, there is no divorce. That said, I'm reasonably satisfied at 7 weeks and glad I did it, although I am having some complications. The sleeve is a great tool, but it is not for everyone. Good luck.
  12. Great thread. Is this why we see some people losing 20 lbs a month and others losing 8-10 lbs a month?

    Acid Reflux

This may sound nuts, but it worked for me. I have a cup of Water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of honey. The problem with acid reflux, as I understand, is not that you have acid. It is that the valve between your tummy and esophagus doesn't stay tightly closed. Certain things trigger it to relax and others trigger it to close. Caffeine, alcohol, smoking all trigger relaxation in the valve and encourage acid reflux. Acids tighten the valve, hence why vinegar works. This isn't for everyone, but give it a try if you want. Works for me. Another good quick relief is maalox.
  14. Strivectin. You can get it at costco.
  15. Chips and salsa are my dirty little secret. They go down reeeaallll easy
  16. You are a knockout, girl! Do what seems right to you, not others. You appear to be pretty small boned for your height, so the extra weight lost will probably look fine. Congrats.
  17. GasX strips help. Also a heating pad does wonders.
  18. I found that savory protein was easier than the sweet shakes. I used low fat buttermilk, unsweetened kefir, blended cottage cheese - just added some seasoning to it to liven it up. A plain glass of nonfat milk does wonders, too. Good luck to you. We've all been there. Gamergirl has some good recipes on her blog, too.
