    Almost depressed

Call your doctor immediately. You may have a stricture. This is NOT normal.
  2. Beef jerky and 1 oz nut packs are easy to carry. For meals, pretty much any sandwich will be fine and every place has them, just don't eat the bread. I like to roll up my sandwich filling in the lettuce (if there is lettuce on the sandwich). I bet if you asked for the sandwich "protein style" in a lettuce wrap instead of on bread, they would be happy to accommodate. Have fun!

    Seriously?!

Yes, that is not uncommon and it gets better. However, you shouldn't be eating a potato, that is a waste of your precious little appetite. Replace that potato with cottage cheese or hummus or greek yogurt or some other protein. You need to focus on protein, not carbs. You will feel much better and it will get you in a habit that is going to last the rest of your life...protein first, then vegs, then carbs last.
  4. When I did weight training my losses were cut in half. I do find that walking for cardio did well for me, though. I used to walk an hour every day. Now I shoot for 90 minutes, as these last few pounds are much slower coming off.

    I think I ruined it...

You went through all this to blow it on frickin' pretzels? Really? If you are going to cheat yourself of this great opportunity to change your life, at least do it on something special. Yeah, I'm a meanie. It's not OK what you did, and you can do better. Come on, you can do this. Love yourself and quit sabotaging your sleeve. Believe in yourself. Be kind to yourself. Stay the course. Best of luck to you.
  6. Watch out for "light" options. They often substitute carbs for fat. Fat does not make you fat, but carbs will nail you. Forgot to mention Japanese. Sashimi, edamame, cucumber salad, miso Soup. Low carb and high Protein. Great!
  7. I second that. These have been a godsend.
  8. I have dumped so I know sleevers dump regardless of what anyone says. It is rare but it does happen. Yuck.
  9. 9 months out. I get in 60-70 g a day. I still have shakes about 4-5 days a week.
  10. Because there are calories in regular. Make your own with stevia or other sweetener you like.
  11. You can do it! Keep believing in yourself. The preop diet is hard, but keep thinking about all the great stuff you will be able to do when the weight starts dropping off. Best of luck to you.

    Raging against a Regain

Stress and lack of sleep both can pack on pounds. You are going to need to figure out how to change something or how to manage the stress better. Be selfish and put your needs first. Also, getting in a walk to clear your head might help if you can get a break. Best of luck to you. You have recognized you have a problem and that is half the battle.

    2 Specific a Questions

Ryan, why do you want to stop at 250? Just curious.

    Discouraged and Heartbroken.

    Sending hugs your way....
  15. Moonlite is right. Dumping usually involves a dump LOL. Regardless of the terminology, you learned a very good lesson today. I still lapse from time to time and Sleevette puts me in my place.
  16. I used to float around the pool on my back. Discovered yesterday during my first swim of the season that I sink now. Can't float! My ballast is gone! I just think this is so funny.
  17. Wow, I feel for you. Especially because WLS resolves sleep apnea in a huge number of cases. Sending hugs.
  18. Five weeks out at a buffet - ouch. My sympathies on that, dear.
  19. Early out you may find that dark meat chicken is easier on your sleeve than white meat. I ate white meat for years, but since surgery, dark meat is my favorite, even after I could eat chicken breast meat again.

    Losing weight slow

Don't compare yourself to others. People lose at different rates. If you are following your plan, you have nothing to worry about. I was a slow loser, never lost more than 10 lbs. in a month. Now I lose 1 lb. a month.
  21. Great way to look at it - this is the most realistic measure. Percentage lost - that's what you want to see. Puts it in proper perspective, especially for slow losers.
  22. @@sjidaho Drinking is discouraged for a couple of reasons. First, it allows the food to slip through your sleeve. This means you will be hungry sooner and your food will not fill you up. This leads to overeating and eventually leads to weight gain, especially after your honeymoon is over and your appetite returns. This is where you see people who have lost 100 lbs. start gaining it back in year 2 or 3. Take a look at this video that shows what happens when you drink with your meal. For me personally, when I eat my solid Protein first, the liquid piles up on top of it and comes up my esophagus. Really gross. Drinking with sliders, like Cookies, is even worse for me because the drink just liquifies the carbs and sugar so they flow right through. This is a path to the dark side I was always a big drinker with meals. 4-5 glass of Water. It's taken time but I have completely conquered the eating/drinking thing. You can get over it, just stay committed. Unfortunately, I have no tricks to offer for this particular issue. It was just willpower and a vision of the fat coming back that kept me on the straight and narrow.
  23. For later stages: Street tacos - beef or chicken or pastor. You can skip the tortilla and just eat the filling or not, depending on your eating plan. One taco does me for a meal and it's usually under $2. In the Southwest they are pretty easy to find. What is a street taco? A small corn tortilla with a few ounces of grilled meat, onions, cilantro and they usually give you a lime to squeeze on it. Add some salsa to spice it up. Perfect bariatric meal. Note: a street taco from a real Mexican place is not a Taco Bell taco
