NMJG replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr put me on Reglin and I've been on it all week. Has helped a lot. The lump in my throat is gone. Taking both omeprozole and ranitidine. Best wishes for you, Rev. -
Weighing In....How Ofter is Too Often?
NMJG replied to WildChickie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh weekly, but after reading this, I think I may switch to monthly. -
I just buy enough for everyone. My son has lost 10 lbs drinking protein shakes for breakfast. I guess eating other people's food is just so much better.

What are your goals for Protein, carb, calorie and fat
NMJG replied to tampa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost 9 weeks, 5' 4 1/2", my nut has me shoot for 80 g protein, 60 g cabs ( no more than 20 at one time), 30 g fat. This comes to around 800 calories. -
Weight loss challenge - should i do it?
NMJG replied to Fiddleman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Go for it. I think it could be a very satisfying thing to have under your belt. A significant NSV. -
Here in New Mexico my favorite jerky place makes Carne Adovada beef jerky that is sprinkled with red chile, Mexican oregano, and seasoning. Out of this world!

What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
NMJG replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I order water just so they leave me alone LOL -
lump sensation in my throat
NMJG replied to ElyQuint's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I upped my anti acids to omeprozole and ranitidine, plus the occasional tums on the go. I'm sleeping with 4 pillow, too. The lump is better. The dr put me on reglin, too. I think the lumo might be scarred tissue in your esophagus and needs to heal before going away. -
has anyone experience bad tasting breath
NMJG replied to Dee White's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's burning fat for fuel. I use Listerine strips, they work well for ketosis breath. -
How much can u eat 3 month out?
NMJG replied to rmma1000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OK, I think you are fine. I've found it's easy to overeat in your mouth. The restriction happens when it hits your tummy. If you eat very quickly you can get in more than you should, then, you really regret it later. Try slowing way down, take a tiny bite, put down the fork, wait a minute or two, repeat. Stop as soon as it starts to feel full. -

how did you feel afterwards? -
Sounds like water weight. Pizza cheese has a lot of sodium, always used to make me hold water.
-
Sausages work fine for me. I don't eat them a lot because they are high fat, but no digestion problems. Had normal pork ones, turkey ones, and chicken ones.

I've been fairly b&$@?y since surgery, with no tolerance for stupid or obnoxious people LOL. I never connected it to the surgery, but maybe it is!
-
Try it and let us know how it works for you.
-
This is a great way to do it. My goal is 80 g protein, less than 60 carbs, less than 30 fat, and 10 g Fiber. This is from my nut. It works out to roughly 800 calories.
-
Yes. Each week you'll be able to get n a little more. Just focus on Protein and Water.
-
Low fat plain kefir, and the things mentioned above.
-
Hmm, could be I suppose, or iron deficiency. Best to ask, then let us know what you find out.
-
This early on you won't be able to get in many calories. You'll eventually be able to eat more. I personally stay under 800 but many go between 800 and 1000, especially if you add in exercise.

A couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of Water before bed helps me (I add a spoon of honey too). The acid triggers the valve between the esophagus and stomach to stay closed. -
I have cut way back on caffeine, but I do still enjoy an occasional cup of tea with caffeine. I enjoy green, jasmine, Good Earth cinnamon, Constant Comment, Earl Grey, English Breakfast Tea.
