Art is right about the temp thing, different temperatures can make a big difference. I hate ice water now, only drink room temp water or tea. Don't give up on your fluids, they are so important. When you pee, if it is dark yellow you are not getting enough fluids. Good luck getting them in.

It gets better, really. Truly nasty in the beginning. The first month is awful. Good luck and chin up!

Yes, talking about it is all I can do. Those who can't, talk.

What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
NMJG replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the first time we are having thxgvg at a restaurant. I usually cook a big meal, but this year we are going out. No fuss, no mess, no leftovers. I'll eat my turkey first, then the other stuff and I think I'll be OK. A least that's the plan. -
What's Your Plan For Thanksgiving Dinner?
NMJG replied to gamergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Roast them in olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sea salt until soft and caramelized. Use a hot oven. Delish. -
That's very sad. Whataburger is usually quite good. However, personally I like In 'n Out more, and Dan's Hamburgers in the Austin area. And green chile cheeseburgers pretty much anywhere here in New Mexico.

I have Matrix Peanut Butter, I added a spoonful of PB2 to it and mix with milk (pretty tasty) but may try it with water next time. It was rich and heavy and I couldn't finish one Serving.

Lapband Vs Sleeve Vs Bypass Surgery
NMJG replied to hayleylamas's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgeon, Dr. Acosta in El Paso (center of excellence) did the band for years and now won't do them, only sleeve and RNY. OP, just do your research on the % of issues with each procedures and the lifestyle afterwards to see if it makes sense for you. Good luck. -
I Dont Think My Nut Believes In Me
NMJG replied to Amanda Nicole Hosaflook's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Who runs the clinic? I would talk to them. If she is new, she is likely on probation. A good nut is very important. The patient must be able to trust them and respect them. -
Help! The Mother Is Coming! <Cue Jaws Music>
NMJG replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mmm, Cassoulet? Beans go down easy and you could pick around the meats. Cheese Souffle? Assiette Anglais - pate etc goes down easy. Quiche? Seems like lunch could be easier than dinner, any chance you could do it mid day instead of evening? -
I'm spending Labor Day weekend with DH at a lovely old restored hotel. The mirror in the room is a skinny mirror! It's slightly distorted and makes me look 5'9 and 140 lbs instead of 5'4 and 192 LOL. Gives me a glimpse of what the future holds...wish I could take it home with me, but it's screwed to the wall...heehee

Hey that New Content tab works! Yay!

I've been out of it for a week or so due to life getting in the way of forums, so bring me up to speed. I assume this thread is the new place to talk since we can't see sh*t on the new site and don't know what the new posts are? BTW, missed everyone. Lips - love the new picture.

Hey, have any of y'all been reading some of the posts on the other forums? Yowza! I thought we were bad, but there are some real doozies over there. They are probably saying the same about us LOL.

On Display Like Some Kind Of Freak!
NMJG replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
RJ, to be blunt, f@&$ them. You have done so much, they can never understand. Don't let them control you or have power over your feelings. You are strong and beautiful and you can raise your head and pass them by. We all feel your pain and send good wishes your way. -
I used to be an apple, but with some weight loss, I think I'm a watermelon now. Although I don't have a nice smooth watermelon rind, more like a scrambled egg texture. I was a pear in my youth (sigh). What are you?

No problems for me. I live in New Mexico and we have green chile with everything, kind hard to avoid it. Everyone here is addicted to chile. Thank goodness Sleevette likes chile.

Hello. My Name Is Revs And I'm A Carboholic And Hungry!
NMJG replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At 7 weeks, my snacks were about the same size as my meals, two ounces, and with 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, I was eating every couple of hours. To me, grazing is eating constantly, not eating every few hours, but that's just my opinion. Tonight (3 months out) I had my first "square" meal since I started the journey. I got down a few ounces of meatloaf, a few ounces of peas and carrots, and two bites of bread. It was so exciting LOL. Up to now my meals tended to be a greek yogurt or turkey deli meat or tuna. No room for more than a bite of veggies and forget bread or carbs at all. So, not to tell you to go against your nut's orders, but another conversation might be in order? Heck, I still can't eat fruit and sure couldn't at 7 weeks. Good luck with this, Rev. -
Website with Protein Powder Recipes
NMJG replied to gmanbat's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
That looks tasty. Why doesn't the protein powder get icky when you bake like it does if you use hot liquids in it? -
Good luck on this one, I'm sure you'll do fine. If anyone asks, just say "I'm not that hungry" and leave it at that, like Gman says. I use that line a lot.
