It took me a month to feel OK again. Everyone is different. Some people bounce back very quickly, but I wasn't one of them. Glad to hear your are getting your water and protein and vits in, that is so important and will help you feel better soon. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

How did you choose your goal BMI?
NMJG replied to NothingUpMySleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
IMHO, I think at some point you have to just throw that stuff out the window and go with what works for you. Pick something in the middle of the range to start, and see how you like it when you get there. Personally, I am going low BMI. It looks better on me and feels better, too. But I have a small frame for 5'6" and I am not muscular. For someone that is big boned or muscular, a higher BMI is better. You can't figure that out from a piece of paper, you have to just see for yourself. You are getting very close to 25 BMI, so you aren't far off. -
yes, you can upload a recipe into MyFitnessPal or type it in manually.

FRUSTRATED ON ALL LEVELS!
NMJG replied to yolicious1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do it, yes you can. It's awful, it sucks, it's a pain, but you gotta get through it and we know you can. Come on here and vent. Sending hugs. You will be through it before you know.... -
I agree with Revs. You are halfway there just since October. That's fabulous! At my fastest I only lost 2 lbs a week. Now post-honeymoon I only lose 1 lb a week. And some people lose only a lb or two a month. No pity party for you, you are not a slow loser ;p

Response to those who feel they have an opinion about your WLS
NMJG replied to vogue's topic in Rants & Raves
LOL that's awesome -
yes, they do have a lot of sodium, but really, how many pickles can a sleever eat? Not that much.... Sounds like a joke...how many sleevers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Only one, but you have to wait 30 minutes before and after turns ...yuck yuck

Check with your dr but most approve baby food in purees. You will be sick of it pretty quickly, though LOL.

Pickles at the movies! Either bring n your own or buy one at the snack bar if your theatre carries them.

Orange is NOT my new black! How my fashions have changed!

I am far too messy for white LOL -
I agree, those are signs of too much in your stomach. Take smaller sips. It might take 30 minutes to get a shake down at this stage.

Kicks in quick for me too. Stay by a toilet :0

It's the little things.... Tell me yours! :)
NMJG replied to kitch101's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My ah-ha moment was then I dropped something into my lap and it fell through to the ground. There is space between my thighs now. A little thing but rather profound for me at the time. -
Bad breath is common, it is ketosis. You are burning fat.

I'm sorry to hear about your day and i hope your twins are Ok. Days like this happen. Just get back in the saddle and you will be fine. It happens to all of us. Sending hugs.

My doctor allowed salads at 4 months. It wasn't until 6 months that I really enjoyed them. Popcorn is something i would wait on. The hard bits can catch in the seam of your sleeve. 4 months....but beware, popcorn is a slider food. You can eat a lot of it and it's easy calories.

Tell us more about your problems. There are many types of Protein, just make sure it is protein isolate. Hemp, pea, eggwhite, soy...

Weight coming off too fast?
NMJG replied to angiem1973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not too fast, and half of that was likely Water weight. Just get in your water, Protein, and vits and you'll be fine. Unlikely you will continue at a pound a day, so enjoy it while you can -
My surgeon also cancels the day of surgery if you did not lose what you were supposed to, or in my case if I gained any (i had a lower BMI). I lost 5 lbs to be safe. Never heard of canceling because someone lost too much. Sounds odd. Maybe if your BMI got below 30.....

Torani Sugar Free Syrups
NMJG replied to smallnavajo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's pretty cool. I see they have bacon syrup. So why no sugar free bacon syrup? -
New subject. Just saw the new Captain America movie yesterday. I have decided that I want Scarlett Johanssen's azz. It is really quite spectacular and it would look really good on me, I'm sure.

I'm afraid our newbie friend there failed to notice that this is posted on Rants and Raves. I think he also failed to notice that the people posting on this thread collectively have around 10,000 posts between us.....

Really? You have no sense of humor, dear.
