I was pretty much pain free, but started having some pulling pains near the largest opening. Nurse said its normal, kind of bummed though, I was feeling great. I still nap too. I have almost 4 wks off work and I'm so glad. I can't imagine going back yet.
  2. I haven't really craved anything. I am not hungry when it's time to eat. I have even cooked some really good meals and desserts for my family and I have no desire to eat it. I know this probably won't last, so I try to plan how I would eat if I was eating the meal. Or, if I see a commercial for food on tv ( every 2 seconds) I think "oh that looks good", but if I ate it I would take the bread off. Taco Bell commercials, I just thinking I went there I would get a chicken taco and only eat the meat and cheese. I plan on forever changing how I eat, I don't want to go back to that life!

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

Just curious if the ones who threw up had the patch? I thought it was supposed to help nausea! It worked for me and I didn't get a migraine either. Started to, but warned the nurse and she got the ok to infuse another med. it worked.

I am feeling pretty good. Had my post op Dr appt today. -17# since surgery + 3# before= 20# off my highest weight. I feel good about that. Nutritionist said I could chew gum if it doesn't make me salivate too much and I don't swallow it! I also asked her about the protein shots. She said they are a great source of protein and even though its not all whey protein, it is still good. Maybe a little less grams than the label says. I personally think they are gross. But added to ice water and sipped on throughout the day it can boost your protein. I am ok to start couch to 5 k in a week. I don't know how some of you are back to work already though. I am napping in the afternoon and still adjusting to the changes. Having a little tenderness at the big incision. Some pulling too. I have been walking everyday for 3 days. How is everyone else???

    Post op and sweets

I am on day 6 post-op. down 15 lbs since surgery! Still on liquids until day 17. I'm not really hungry and nothing really sounds good, but I am really tired of "sweet" protein shakes, pudding, jello, etc. I added tomato soup and cream of soups today. A little less protein but I have added herbal life beverage mix to my water intake. It has 15 G protein for 8oz. It's a good change.

    Gummy Vitamins?

I just had surgery the 17th. I would like to join the Facebook page. The link doesn't work.
  11. Good for you. Several of my co workers have had vsg surgery. Their relationships didn't last. I was engaged until a few weeks before my surgery. We had not been getting along and I wanted a fresh start with my weight loss. Seems like this really tests a relationship!
  12. First I was actually scared to try another diet, because it always meant -20, then +35. Then I encountered an obese woman had a purple face from her high bp. She must have weighed 500lbs. She was just bitter and couldn't even sit on a bed. She was just nasty and mad at the world because she was obese. At first I was put off by her attitude, but then I felt sorry for her. She was probably in the same boat as me one time. Then she just gave up dieting and now she has a host of other problems. So she inspired me to fix myself before I got that bad!!! I never thought I had a problem because I was comfortable in my skin, the last 20 lbs put me over the edge.
  13. I am on post op day 3. I have downloaded the couch to 5 k app also. That is my goal. The way I feel now, I won't be able to run for a while, when did you start? How many weeks/months out???
  14. My surgeon was the same way. Honestly the vsg and bypass each have their benefits, drawbacks. I thought the surgeon would choose for me based on my history. He didn't he said I had to choose. I ended up going with the sleeve because it seems less rerouting, and they take the hunk of stomach out. In bypass surgery the stomach is rerouted and they leave it in you. There is no way to guarantee it won't cause problems, they can't even scope it. That's why I chose vsg. Also the band... Several people I know that had it lost a lot in the beginning, but never got "thin". The complications were so severe it had to be removed.
  15. #1...when it's time for surgery, ask the anesthesiologist for a scope patch. They only give it if you request it. This will prevent nausea, etc from the anesthesia.
  16. I have decided I would tell the people close to me that I had vsg. Other than that, I am not walking around with a sign...but if someone asks I will be honest. I have known people that will stand there and lie to your face about having surgery, when you know darn well they did! Like I told my kids, it's not a secret, but it's not everyone's business!

    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

I just had my surgery April 17. I am on day 3! I so agree with everything you've all said. I was so depressed waiting for my surgery date. I couldn't lose any weight because I wouldn't qualify, but I was at my largest. I just felt disgusting for the past few months.
