  3. Chicken Korma?? Oh please! Love that stuff but haven't been able to find a good recipe that tastes as good as the restaurants!! Though come to think of it - that might be pretty hard to make healthy.....a challenge, right?

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Great job, Chanvita! I'm so glad that you are doing better. I still have days of feeling kinda weak but I guess that goes with the little bit of nourishment that our bodies are getting.

When did you start to wear a bra again?

As soon as I got my staples out.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Broccoli and cheese soup, cream of potato soup, sf jello pudding, sf yogurt, made "soupy" cheese grits (yum), cream of wheat with cinnamon, soupy mashed potatoes, drinking lots of decaf tea, Mio and switch it up for low cal G2 gatorade every once in a while. And of course, my 2 protein shakes everyday...

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Hey Chanvita; Honestly I've been drinking the EAS Advantage Carb Control RTD shakes and Muscle Milk Light Chocolate Peanut Butter. Really good - the only time I have trouble is if I let the Muscle Milk shakes sit too long and they get too watery. Then it's a bit of an effort to get them down but that's easily rememdied - just drink them faster. If the coldness is bothering you - try letting the RTD shakes sit out to room temp or mix the shakes with lukewarm water. Cold things bothered me a little bit the 1st couple of days but I've gotten over it - sugar free popsicles are my best friend!

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Chanvita! So glad you are home - it's all uphill from here. I didn't have what I would call pains in my legs but I had like spasms that I figured were caused by those ding dang automated squeezers they had on my l was in the hospital. Had the worst case of restless leg syndrome for about 3 days but then it stopped. Went for my post op appt and got my staples removed today. Girl - I've lost 18 lbs since surgery! We are on our way!

Chanvita; How you doing today? Please let us know. Praying for you!
  12. Gamergirl; Would you be ashamed if you had a mastectomy due to breast cancer? Would you be ashamed if you had bypass surgery due to heart issues? You (like most all of us here) did not make this decision lightly. You gave years to attempting to do this on your own and finally made the decision that was best for you. The fact of the matter is that WE know that overeating, diet and exercise are not all the contributing factors to our weight. Especially as we get older - it becomes almost impossible to get any real weight loss to be sustainable for any amount of time. In fact the yo-yo dieting and extreme measures that we take are actually worse for us than staying where we are. You researched this, you are a SMART lady, you have no reason to feel shame - you should feel proud of making a smart life changing decision to improve your life. I will tell you that I worried a great deal about what to do regarding letting people know - I finally decided to just lay it out there and if they didn't like it - they could just bite me - they hadn't walked this terrible life long struggle with me - and honestly - I have been amazed at all the support and understanding that I have received. You have to do what is best for you regarding letting people know but never, ever feel shame for this important life improving decision that you have made for yourself. Hugs!

Oh Chanvita - I'm so sorry! Hang in there kiddo! Did you ask them if they could change your pain medication to see if that's what is making you ill? Sometimes you are having a type of allergic reaction to some of your meds and that's what !makes you throw up. Praying for you!

    August 6'ers?

Yamgirl; Rolling laughing - with you not at you! I needed my son to take me to the store and discovered I couldn't wear a bra. I still have my staples and the band irritated my incisions in 3 places I'm 56 and things are hanging pretty low these days. I found an old Ahh bra and put the girls in their proper slots and wore a big tshirt. I thought I was good to go. When I got back home and looked in the mirror - I nearly died - one of the girls had slipped her earthly bounds! I looked like a % sign! Thank goodness I didn't see anyone I knew! They didn't cover this problem in any of my pre-op classes - I'm a bit concerned about going back to work on Monday.

    SC Southern Sleevers?

Hey girlie - I'm doing great! Hard to believe that I have gotten this much better this fast. I've already passed my fluid requirements for today and have to get in 20 more grams of protein for the day and I haven't had my "dinner" yet! Like I said - the 1st day was rough because of all the gas but really pushed myself to walk alot and sipped like crazy once I was allowed. Each day is like 100% better than the day before. 1st couple of days had to be really careful because sometimes I was taking too big sips and that would be uncomfortable - same thing if something was too cold or too hot. Not painful - I was just aware that I had pushed the envelope! Today I am back to drinking pretty much exactly as before the surgery - no itty bitty sips or anything. Am still using my baby spoon to eat my sugar free jello! I can sleep on my side (haven't tried belly yet) and I've already been taken off my metformin. Testing my sugar twice a day right now and it's almost too low last couple of days - have to drink a Gatorade to get it back up to 80 or so. How much longer till your surgery? Just know that each day will be better than the day before and you will be fine!

    August 6'ers?

My surgery was on the 6th also. My requirements are the same as ShrinkyDinkMe101 - so far doing okay with doing the liquids and protein shakes. My problem is the big ole horse pills that they sent home with me. I cut them in half and sometimes in quarters but they still feel like they get stuck on the way down. Uncomfortable - not really painful. I'm being truly amazed by how each day is so much better than the day before.

Girl you look fantastic!! I'm so proud of you! Had my surgery on Tuesday - back home today. 1st day was really rough but been steadily getting better every day. You give me so much motivation to keep going with the hope that I can look as good as you do at just a few months out!
