I'm an avid reader, a lover of words, and a teacher of Language Arts. I willingly go to middle school five days a week, and live to tell the tale. (But I bet you understand my using food as a comfort just a wee bit better now, don'tcha? )

I have two teenage children who amaze me daily with their capacity for awesomeness. Luckily, I've been blessed with kids who haven't yet hit the Hateful Teen phase. *fingers crossed*

I love renaissance faires (never spend a day at faire without a snug bodice, that's my motto!) music, singing and acting--one of the reasons I teach is that I love the opportunity to "perform" every day as the crazy English teacher. The WLS journey is very new to me right now, but I am eager to see where it takes me, and look forward to using it to help me become healthier, more active, and the "old me" from when my clothes didn't all come from Lane Bryant and my butt fit into an airline seat without needing a shoehorn and a dollop of Crisco. Sarcasm and/or snark is often my default setting, but it's all meant in good fun--I'm playful but never intentionally mean.

Happy to be here, to learn as much as I can from the people who are living a sleeved life!
