    Surgery June 10th

I had it done June 10th also! I'm doing okay. The only real pain I have is on my right side (for some reason)...it's the same spot that was bothering me just after surgery. It's getting better...but same thing, sudden movement and sometimes trying to stand up or whatever too. I am getting tired of liquids and pudding, Jello, Soup, etc though LOL Hubby has been cooking for him and the kids and it smells soooo good
  2. You have it easier than I do I also have PCOS and a slow metabolism. I'm also 5'3...but my day of surgery (which was on June 10th), I was 235 lbs. I haven't weighed myself in a couple of days...but, I did on Thursday (4 days out), and I was down 7 lbs. I have no idea how much faster or slow it will go...LOL But, I guess we will see
  3. I was sleeved on June 10th. I drink my protein drink (power from GNC) that's 25 gr of protein, and sometimes just two of those. Other times, one of those and one Premier Protein (which is only 11 fl oz for 30 gr of protein). I'll have creamed tomato, or butternut squash soup....sf pudding, and maybe a sf Popsicle too. Since I am so used to snacking at night (this will be hard to break LOL) I found a yummy bariatric protein hot chocolate which is 15 grams. So, I sip that at night and it helps
  4. I was also sleeved 5 days ago. I find I can drink and eat and still feel somewhat hungry. I don't know if it's actual hunger (my stomach is growling), or if its just settling or gas or what-not. I do still have some pain when I stand, but it's getting better. My doc also said I can have yogurt. I've been eating yogurt, sugar free pudding, cream Soup, etc. (not all at once, of course LOL) I'm hoping this isnt a hunger feeling. I really dont want to desire food anymore...and at the moment I do :/
  5. I had my sleeve on Monday (June 10th), and I've been sleeping in my lazy boy recliner this past week. I haven't been able to lay on my side comfortably yet, so it seems like the only option. My back hurts! I try to get up and walk around to loosen it, but I can't get past the sitting (or reclined) position just yet. Is it too soon to use a heating pad or something on it? I'm afraid to try. When did all of you begin to lay down again?
  6. I'm on day 5 of my post op (had it on the 10th), and I find I get hungry more frequently. I'm still doing liquid, but now with the yogurt, sugar free pudding, Soup, etc. I get through about 1/2 or so of the yogurt and it makes me satisfied, but about 1/2 hour - 1 hour later, my tummy is growling again. Is that normal? I feel like I shouldn't be having a growling tummy already LOL I hope this isnt an indication for what is going to come. I don't want to go back to how I was eating before....

lets be honest, 1 week post op

I'm on day 6...started eating Yoplat (is that spelled right? LOL) a couple days ago and I seem to get through a little more than a half before I feel "satisfied". How did you find the greek yogurt? Was the consistency too thick? LOL

    I'm hungry!

PPI? Does Prilosec count as one? lol
  9. Yep..it does smell. LOL (I had mine on Monday)
  10. I was sleeved the same day I've been home resting too. Mainly catching up on tv shows...watching movies and being a bum LOL It's kind of nice, but can be boring. I've been sleeping a lot too. I find I can't keep my eyes open at times.

    Surgery Tomorrow Morning!

Thank you everyone!! Purplelover, good luck to you too! Keep us posted on how it goes
  17. I've been feeling the same. I'm on day 3 of the liquid diet...I have my surgery tomorrow. I've been making sure I drink 2 Isopures a day (40 grams of Protein each). They are nasty (in my opinion lol)...so try to add some Mio, Crystal Light, etc to it. And maybe even put it with ice in a blender and make a smoothie. The broth is good (I like the beef broth too), and sugar free popsicles I have some of the unjury chicken stuff...but I noticed it has milk in it and my NUT and doc said no milk stuff until after surgery. So, I would check on that before

    Struggling

I'm in the same boat. I'm 2 days into the liquid pre-op diet and it's so hard! My family is eating around me...I had to go to the food store to get more chicken broth and everything smells so good. My stomach is growling...ugh. I'm so hungry. I keep thinking am I doing the right thing? But, I think that's the hunger talking LOL I'm hoping after it's all said and done it will be easier for both of us
  19. OMG! I'm sitting here with my stomach growling LOL I'm on day one of the liquid pre-diet too...I am dying. I've had so much chicken broth, clear protein drink, popcicles and jello I think I never want to see them again already LOL Any other suggestions?? Im HUNGRY LOL
  20. I'm starting my liquid diet tomorrow, and get sleeved on Monday. I realized today is my last day to enjoy any food of any kind I want. I know that's sounds silly...and bad LOL But, it's true. So, while I was food shopping for my liquid stuff, I'm walking down the aisle's and thinking to myself how I probably won't be eating many of those things again. Then I started to get depressed Is that bad? I'm mourning my food already! LOL When I think about it logically it sounds silly to me, but I can't help how I feel. Is anyone else going through this too?

    Getting Depressed

Thanks everyone!!! I'm glad I'm not alone with this Yes, once the weight starts coming off I'm sure my whole mentality will change. But, of course, it's new...and it's scary. Maybe chewing gum will help with the "need to chew"? I'm in that boat too LOL
  22. I start my liquid pre-op diet tomorrow. What do you all recommend for a good clear, protein enriched drink?
  23. ladylaura

    My turn

    Good luck!!
  24. Hi all, I'm having the surgery done on the 10th. I've gained 5 lbs in about a week/week 1/2. I'm worried that if it's so easy for me to gain weight (I have a friend that is too thin and can't put on weight no matter how hard she tries), will it stay the same after the surgery? Does your body chemistry completely change after? I don't plan on having a feast or anything after But I am concerned I will be able to gain easily like I am now... Has anyone else had this issue too?
  25. Thanks!! Yeah, I think I'm going to have to work pretty hard after also. I guess we will see. They didn't put me on a pre-op diet. The nutritionist just suggested I start replacing meals with the Protein shake the week before, so I will start that tomorrow.
