Disneyland trip - 5 weeks Post-Op
ladylaura replied to Cyndie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Disneyland is really good for healthy options now. I see yogurt and such everywhere there! Also, they are REALLY accommodating if there are food allergies or any dietary special needs. I would just ask the waiter or waitress, or at the food counters and they can probably suggest something or even blend it up for you! -
Stalled forever, should I start over?
ladylaura replied to miangr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've stalled for a little over 2 weeks now, and I'm about 2 months out too. It seems to be common around this time for some reason. But, your weight loss so far is amazing! In 3 weeks you went down 41 lbs? (maybe partly pre-op too?) Our bodies are probably adjusting and not sure what to do lol If you think about it, it's not possible or healthy to just drop...drop...drop...drop, etc without it stabilizing at some point (at least that's that I keep telling myself ) Hopefully soon we will both have more results! Hang in there! -
I could eat a horse today!

I'm still hungry a lot...and still struggling with snacks. My NUT tells me NO snacking and only 6 oz of food, 4 times a day. I don't know how it's possible, but now when I snack I feel guilty -
Rumbling and Grumbling
ladylaura replied to Autumnrain1908's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in my 9th week and the gurgles and rumbling is still loud LOL I hope it gets better... I agree with the others, maybe try to take smaller bites and chew, chew, chew so it's almost like liquid going down...(even on mushies) -
So, I'm in my 9th week, and I noticed I'm eating about 6 oz a meal. I wrote my NUT and she told me 4 meals at 6 oz a day. No snacking, nothing else. I have been seeing another nutritionist (not a bariatric specialist, but still very good..), and she tells me I have to have SOME kind of snack in between...mainly to keep blood sugar stable (I'm not diabetic, but still...). I find I still get hungry after about an hour of my meals. Now, I'm afraid to eat anything else! I've been stalled at the same weight for about 2 weeks, and I don't know if that is why, or if it's just typical stall... Is there anyone else who feels this way? I feel like I'm eating so much and that I'm much more hungry than most Please tell me I'm not alone?

I am trying to get my water in...but I still feel hungry. It's defiantly hunger. I wish these nutritionists would agree on something! lol

Why am i so hungry? Grrr
ladylaura replied to Kennedy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been really hungry too. I'm 9 weeks out, eating about 6 oz per meal...but still hungry in between meals. It's really frustrating... -
Glad to know I'm not alone! Yeah, all the different info's and advice can drive you nuts lol I'm thinking if I had string cheese or something in between it wouldn't hurt...I hope.

So frustrating! I've been stuck at the same exact weight (to the decimal point lol) for about 2 weeks now! I started at the gym this past week, been eating my protein...haven't started carbs yet. I don't understand why? Any tips? Oh! And I'm 8 weeks in...
-
I'm on week 9, myself. I can eat about 5-6 oz a meal. I'm only down about 35 lbs since pre-op...it's crawling it feels like (and now it's been stalled for 2 weeks). I've been starting to exercise too. My NUT told me I have to have a veggie or fruit or something with each meal. So, I'm trying to only eat about 3-4 ounces of protein and the rest being the veggie or whatever.
-
It's just frustrating. I mean...this happened many times before the surgery with the many, many diets I tried. I would plateau...but, I did something drastic, so now I'm thinking that I just did this so this wouldnt happen! Then it does! LOL I know it has to be normal because you can't just drop, drop, drop, etc....(though wouldnt that be nice lol). Still frustrating though...

My NUT told me it was safe to try thin crusted pizza (I'm 9 weeks out today...)...so I did! It's been months since I had it! WOW!! We ordered Domino's...and it tasted gourmet! LOL I highly recommend it
-
Me too! I'm still waiting lol
-
Okay, I am in my 9th week and this is getting annoying LOL Still, everytime I eat or drink anything, my throat and tummy gurgles loudly! It's no big deal when I'm home, obviously. My husband just chuckles and imitates how it sounds (nice, eh? lol). But, out in public it's so embarrassing! Is anyone else still having the same issue? Please tell me it stops at some point?
-
Well for Dominos, they cut it into squares (which was weird)...so, I had about 3 small squares.
-
I wonder if Papa John's is like that? Hmmm. Dominos had it really, really thin too...it was good and crispy!
-
True
-
They cut it into little squares instead of slices, which is weird. I felt guilty because I ate about 3 little squares...but, I keep telling myself it isn't as fattening as a regular slice of pizza with regular crust...right? LOL I had mine with chicken and olives yuuuuummm

4 days out waking with nausea...normal?
ladylaura replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on an nausea medication too. I was nauseous for about 2 weeks after. I took that when needed...and took a couple Prilosec each day for a while too (still take one a day...) -
When were all of you allowed to eat popcorn? I'm missing it lol
-
It really is frustrating. I'm even more frustrated now because after all this time with the stall, I weighed myself this morning and I am UP over a pound! Ugh!
-
I'm 2 months out, and I was told not to try it yet. If/When I do, it will be the air popped, so at least it's healthier. I'll try not to eat it daily, but once in a while while watching tv would be nice

I've made this a few times now and it's really good! The whole family loves it And, since it's done in the crockpot, it falls apart when it's done... http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/2010/12/crockpot-chicken-with-mushrooms.html
