    Medications After Surgery

    Ugh, I was never able to swallow a crushed pill. I tried....tried to hide it in applesauce, pudding, etc and it was just SO nasty! So, I ended up just slicing it one or two times to make it really small and did it slowly that way (took me all day to get my 4 pills down, but at least I did). Now, I can mainly take them whole and at one sitting It does get easier!
  2. I'm 3 months out now, and was wondering when you all tried popcorn again? I saw my surgeon yesterday, and the office said I can pretty much be eating anything and introducing everything again slowly. Did any of you have it at this stage?
  3. I think so. But, I think it may have been a combo of things too. I had an iced mocha (it's a weakness of mine LOL sugar free, decaf, of course...lol), and I think the fact I had that one a fairly empty stomach was a big part of it. But, it was a rough day emotionally too...so I think that attributed to it too.
  4. Ohh I haven't tried pasta yet! I'm afraid to. I see the surgeon for my post-op tomorrow, so I can ask him what he thinks about all of that. Everyone seems to have a different answer LOL
  5. I was sleeved then too 42 lbs since pre-op! Seem to be doing well. Had tummy issues yesterday for some reason though... Are you eating salad yet? I was told still not to try it, but everything else seems to be sitting okay...
  6. I'm 3 months out now, and down 42 lbs since pre-op. I find that I am down ONE size since then! Is that normal? LOL Loosing 42 lbs, quite a few inches...and only down one size? Are there any others out there like this too? It just seems usually more people are down at least 2-3 sizes after that?

    I had it when I was about 7-8 weeks post op and it was fine I just ordered the kids sized portion and didn't even finish it...lol

    I took it when I got my period because I always end up in the fetal position that time of the month! Once in a while it should be okay...just try not to do it all the time But, of course, check with your doc.

    Great ideas, thanks! I thought about getting jerky or a beef strip, but then I worry about the sodium. Has that been an issue for you?

    I weigh myself in the morning too....but the same thing happens like with what you mentioned! In the morning I weighed 202. After my nap, I weighed 200 LOL Go figure.

    the scale hasnt moved

    I hate the plateaus. I've had a couple so far that lasted about 2 weeks at a time. Now, I finally made it to 200...and I step on the scale this morning and it tells me I'm at 202 again! Grrrr! In one day?? LOL *sighs* So frustrating. Hang in there! It has to drop at some point (that's what I keep telling myself anyway lol).

    I ask my nutritionist every week if I can have salad again LOL For some reason, I'm CRAVING it! But...like they said above, it's one of the last things introduced I'm 3 months out today, and I still am not cleared for it...
  18. I remember saying the same thing! It's funny how you miss chewing, isn't it? No worries...it will be here soon and then you can chew food for the rest of your life again (but yeah...I miss bread too! Now I use crackers with my tuna and such and it helps though )

    HUNGRY!

    I eat about 5 oz for a meal, 3 times a day. If I get hungry in between I get something small, like string cheese or something. But, I've had days where I get hungry every 2 hours...

    Changing my mindset...

    I can stop after one slice of pizza or a piece of chocolate. For me, the "forbidden foods" have always been an issue. So, knowing I CAN actually have them once in a while helps me not feel so depressed or like I want them more. Everything in moderation...

    So glad I'm not alone in this! I see a nutritionist and she is always telling me to just listen to my body and nourish it. She says what's wrong with having one Oreo cookie once in a while? Or even a piece of dark chocolate? Obviously, can't eat it all the time..but, her point was to start getting in the mindset that this is a lifestyle change and that the thoughts need to change too. None of us can live the rest of our lives in a "diet" mentality, so allowing ourselves to have that piece of chocolate, or slice of pizza or whatever once in a while is okay. It's just hard to change that thought process in the moment. But, I guess with practice we can do it

  23. I'm 11 weeks out and not quite to the 100's yet. I'm soooo weighting (pun intended!) to get there But, I'm starting to get into size 16 now and XL shirts. It's nice to be able to start to buy off the racks again! It's been so long! My bra hasn't gone down much though...LOL I'm wondering how much it will 2 more lbs then comes Onederland!! Bring it on! Awesome job, Celina! Keep up the good work

    Yes! All the time! I'm about 2 1/2 months now too...and between my throat and my tummy it's like an orchestra LOL It gets really embarrassing when Im out in public

    Yoplat makes a really good frozen greek yogurt popsicle....the vanilla and honey tastes like ice cream. I lived off of that for a couple weeks LOL
