    dr. kim

Im getting my revision in dallas, texas.. has anyone used dr. David kim and if so any feedback
  3. Ok, good morning everyone.. This is my first post, so I am a new to all of this.... Ok, so I got the Lap Band in May of 2010, I lost approximately 60 lbs, and felt like I was so excited. The weight has just returned and I am so tired of vomitting (if you have the band you know exactly what I am talking about)... I have been approved for the Gastric Sleeve, my surgeon is Dr. David Kim out of Dallas, Texas.. My first appoint with him was on 7 December 2012 and just received my approval letter from my Insurance (Blue Cross and Blue Sheils, Federal Standard) on 15 April 2013. I am very nervous, I don't know what to expect, my Husband and family really don't want me to get the Sleeve, because its permenant and more invasive than the Band. So they are making me nervous. I have several questions and concerns. Heart burn, leaks, food, is the restrictions any different from the Lap Band, do you feel like it was a successful change in your life revising from the Band to the Sleeve. Need words of encouragement and guidance. Please help. Thanks!

    Complications ?

I will be week 4 on Tuesday. That is awesome, my doctors haven't released me to exercise until 19 July, I don't know why. But better follow doctors orders.. I take B-12 but seems to wear off by mid day. I am drinking a muscle milk in the morning which has 25g of protein and only 220 carbs. So example yesterday, I had my muscle milk in the morning and mid morning had 2 hard boiled eggs, which took me about an hour to eat, and than about 1 I had some cottage cheese. By 3:30 I was pooped, didn't have energy for nothing, so when I got home, I ate some refried beans with a little cheese on top, which was delicious by the way.. I didn't loose anything from yesterday to today, which I have average around 1 lb a day since surgery. But the wonderful thing is, I actually feel full, eating is a whole new trend to me. I usually eat so fast that I get way to full, but I am taking it slow. My biggest stronghold is drinking while I eat, I still do it but try to minimize it.

    Frustrated #failure

I was sleeved on 5/28/13, surgery weight was 245.4 and I am now weighing (as of this morning) 223.2.. I am so excited about that, but at the same time, my expectations were higher than the result that I am I getting. I barely eat anything, and get a liter of water in a day, why is the weight not just falling off, I have not measured myself, but why are my clothes not loser than they are.. I feel a little bit of difference in my legs. I just want results... LOL..

    Complications ?

I had my revision from band to sleeve on 5/28 as well. I have had absolutely no complications. I had my surgery in Dallas, Tx, with Dr. David Kim. I have lost a total of 19 lbs. After reading on here everyone's experience, I was so scared that I was going to have issues getting fluids down. From day 2 post op, i have been drinking fluids no problem, I have went forward on my diet without dr's orders, but I am on phase 2 of post op diet, which should just be creamed soups, well I have started refried beans and fat free cottage cheese, which has settle just fine. My only compliant right now is, I get tired so much faster than I use to. Understandable, due to not getting the calories and carbs that I usually did. I will be release to exercise in about 2 weeks. I love my sleeve, and I love that I have vomitted in almost 3 weeks. Good luck...

    May 28, 2013 surgery!

I am on phase 2 of my diet plan: full liquid protein diet... I get fat free creamed soups, strained, and milk and protein shakes.. I have come to really like the Muscle Milk, it has 25g of protein and lactose free, 3g sugar, but the calories are a little high of 220, but I try to just drink one a day. I am absolutely not having any problems. I get liquids down just fine, and have not had any issues drinking milk or eating jello. Last night I even tried refried beans, which I probably shouldn't have until my next phase of my diet, but not issues and after about 3 bites, I was very full, not too full that I wanted to vomit.. But I felt full, and it felt nice for the first time. I am down to 228.4.. I am so very excited, people at work are saying how I look like I am loosing weight, and my clothes are starting to feel loose.. great feelings guys.. It's been a very long time.. Good luck to you all... )

Well I dont like it.. lol.. my highest weight is 247.. I just want to stsrt seeing some reason to why I put myself through this, also I feel like majority of the time, not taking any vitamins, I need chewable b-12, multi vit, and a pepcid.. any suggestions and im at walmart..
  22. I have only lost 10 including pre-op diet
  23. Im having no issues with water. . I do feel a little hungry which concerns me.. I thought I wouldnt be. But I eat a little broth and a half of cup of jello and it satisfies the hunger.. im worry about when I get passed the point of being scared to eat.. what will be satisfying? I havent felt the full part yet, but I havent ate anything with substance either.. I was sleeved 28 May..
