In April 2013, I met with Prof Dr Ralf Senner and we discussed that he had recently started working in Switzerland , where I live, and was an expert ( 2000 plus surgeries in Germany/ Egypt) in robotic Gastric Sleeve.
Over the next couple of months, I had physical tests, psychiatric tests, lung Xray, Liver scan, Colonscopy, and Endoscopy . I was pronounced fit for the surgery ; However, the surgery was intended on my local insurance and in July Dr Senner telephoned to explain that my insurance company only approved Gastric Sleeve as a procedure effective 1.1.2014. I had waited 20 years so 6 months not so bad.
Come November, when I was not contacted, I tried to contact with all the phone numbers I had - nothing.
He had simply vanished.
My GP has therefore referred me to my local Bariatric Surgeon and my surgery is scheduled for 21st January 2014.
Surgery done; Everything went to plan.
Felt I was a bit rushed through the food stages. When I left at day 5 I was supposed to be on purees! My pouch struggled so at home back to soups with protein powders
Have discovered after hospital stay that my problem with the hospital food was potato. My stomach sort of closes up if I have mashed potato.
