I worried about hairloss post surgery, as I allready have alopecia, however my hair has grown in thicker, I am not sure why. I did speak with My doctor, and a dermatologist who explained that most hair loss after baritric surgery can be linked to protien dificiency. There are lots of vitamins, and protien drinks available. I prefer vitamist. I took the bottle to the dietician at the hospital and she said it is great. they also have a great protien drink that is boosted with calcium. the web address is www.vitamist.com I have also used infinity product, and I noticed on the link for usa fills they sale infinity products. I have used several of the infinity vitamins and protien drinks, and they are great. You might also contact your surgeons office and see if they recommend a certian product. Terry you have such a speacial spirit about you, and I cant tell you how much you impacted me with your compassion and positive attitude. So I started birth controll, The patch to be exsact, and I feel like I want to eat everything I can catch with a fork.Obviosly I cant as I have the band, but I have noticed myself trying to fight my band more than I ever have. I am so stressed! I called my Doctor and she said it should even out, and that most of it is more than likely water weight. So here i work as a lap band councelor, and I am having drama myself. I guess thats why I love this site, as everyone has such great advice. So I need some advice, or words of wisdom, any ideas? Has any one else had this experiance? I am open to all advice!!! Hey I am having a tummy tuck and breast aug the end of march. I am having my tummy tuck with Dr. Locnikar in phoenix, and I am having my breast aug with a surgeon in monterey. I need qiute a lot of plastic surgery as after losing so much weight my breasts look like oranges in socks, and my tummy looks like ground beef. Its really lovely. Thank goodness for modern medicine. Although you know even if I was not able to have everything niped and tucked, I still would be happy with my body this way, as I have come so far thanks to the band, and my support system. I took Vitamist to the dietician at the hospital, and she said it was great. They also have a new bariatric formula. I was also told they have a liquid prenatal vitamin, and I took prenatals before my surgery, however we all know prenatal vitamins are as big as horse pills hence I had to discontinue prenatals after being banded. I think they will give you one bottle complimentary if you call them, I dont know there # but the web address is www.vitamist.com I also want to make it clear I am not a distributer, nor do I make any type of profit at all for this company, I just like their vitamin. I also have seen many hair specialists concerning my hair as I have alopecia, and I was told hair loss after bariatric surgery can be atributed to lack of protien. I was shocked because after my surgery my hair has grown thicker. I also sometimes go to my PCP and get B-6 B-12 shots I guess it depends on who you speak with. I do know that The dietician also told me about a vitamin that can be purchased at costco called "Glacial Milk" I personally have never used it but could be good! Thanks Kristie

I love looking at before and after pictures! I still sometimes catch myself trying to turn to food for comfort. The lap band has been a great rehab for me to reform my eating choices. Sometimes I still have days where i get frustrated and want to eat a village. Of course I dont even try anymore as I know it will not even be worth it! I just want to tell you all thank you for sharing your experiances and pictures on here. I lately when I get to feeling like I want to turn to food for comfort come to this site and read and look at pictures. The before and after pictures help me alot. Then I realize the saying "Nothing Tastes as good as being thin and healthy feels" Rings true! No more Lane Bryant, Victorias secret here we come! Kristie

Let me start by appoligising to stacy directly. You deserved to have your phone calls returned, and I did return every message I ever received from you. Secondly I am not going to go in to detail due to the fact that speaking ill of others has never proven to bring anything good. I will just say that only one member of my family besides myself worked for belighter, and she did not fire us, we left due to un beleivable circumstances with Ann Marie. I would not beleive everything you hear, if you read through the bandster archives you will find a long history of complaints surrounding belighter, before I even was employed with belighter. I did not redirect money, I didnt even have access to ann maries account or deposit information. I honestly feel sad that Ann Marie has been calling patients and making false statements. In the past week I have received emails from six people who i assisted in coordinating their surgeries, explaining that Ann Marie had called them and rambled on and on about me. Each one of them were upset with her, and she did nothing but make them not want anything to do with her or belighter. I honestly truly care about each person I worked with. The biggest mistake I made was ever being associated with belighter. I appoligise to anyone I have offended. I hope you truly know I would never intentionally cause problems. I do know that words mean nothing, and actions speak the truth, so I am not going to spend more time on this topic as I need to put the horrible experiance with belighter behind me and move forward to positive things in my life.
