Here's how I dealt with / internalized it. If I had a tumor I would have it cut out because to not have it cut out would mean death. Well. My stomach is my tumor. To not have it cut out meant death. This surgery is no more cheating then having a tumor cut out is cheating. Also the surgery changes your body chemistry and metabolism. Which if I had to guess your metabolism is non existent like mine was. Just my $.02.

Started at 299. 287 day of surgery. 232 this morning. Hit a nasty stall the entire month of September and first week of October. Scale is moving now. 7 lbs till high school graduation weight. Can't wait.

Sleeved 7-1. Started 299 Surgery day 282 Current 245. 55lbs gone. Remember the BMI and inches and feeling good are the most important. Bigger folks loose lots of pounds but as a % of body weight might not be as high of a % loss as someone who started lighter. Keep up the great work everyone.

I was cleared to exercise a week after surgery. I did so with religiously. 30 min cardio and 30-40 min weight training per workout. My summer job is in construction. So now i am back to work the last 10 days and have not been at the gym do to time and energy. However I am physically working 10 -12 hrs a day and have actually lost more weight than before. Does the physical work count ( maybe not for cardio) ? I go back to my other job (teacher) in September so I will resume gym for sure then. Here are my stats and thanks in advance for input. You'll be fine. 4 weeks out and I was roofing. However I'm worried about this deer season. Down 50 lbs already and hunting clothes already way to big.

I'm a high school social studies teacher in western ny. I was sleeved July 1. I have lost 32 lbs from preop and post op. I think and hope ill be down 50 by the beginning of sept. I'm nervous about the start of school. Don't know how I'm gonna explain the loss.

Hi everyone. Maybe I'm paranoid but I was sleeved 11 days ago. My dr started letting me eat real food again ( granted soft, reintroduction etc) since day 8. One night I ate to much. Didn't mean to just ate faster than i should have, probably about 5 oz. didn't vomit but was uncomfortable. That was 3 days ago or so. Anyway today I noticed I can drink more fluids than before. So my question is did I stretch my sleeve already and therefor have failed already or is it possible that there was some swelling in my stomach that may have dissipated or any other ideas? Greetings all. I am on day 2 of liver reduction diet. My dr has us in 4 protein shakes a day, water, and .5 cup of green crunchy veggies per day. I feel awful. Anyone ever heard if such a restrictive preop diet. Looking on line they seem to very greatly. Help.

Hey kempoman. I am a Kenpo man but welcome to the forum. Loosing muscle mass is an issue I'm worried about too. I was sleeved July 1. Protein is real hard to get down. In fact I only had about 300 calories total today. Looks like there will be a rebuilding process for sure.

They are sending me home tomorrow morning. I had my surgery late on July 1. However they considered sending me home today.

Tomorrow surgery. Down 16 pounds from liver reduction. Nervous but excited. To all my fellow July 1 sleevers good luck.

Hmmm that makes me worried because I am scheduled for Monday. Had my lab work done Wednesday last week but I know I've had blood in my urine since I was 11. How long did it take between your labs and the phone call?

Well I just started my other job which is roofing. (Teacher during the year) 85-90 degrees, all day, just came home to wife cooking one of my top 5 things for dinner. She said I thought you'd work later. I am ready to call a divorce lawyer I'm so pissed off right now. So hot I could only get one shake and celery down in 12 hrs and I am surrounded by this. Someone come here and stab me please!?!

I'd have said I might be fat but your ugly and I'm loosing weight. And if that didn't work I'd just say F off.

So have my pre-op Wednesday and final next week with primary. Surgery July 1. Gotta be honest I am not as excited anymore. Im actually mourning food that I won't have anymore, future pain post surgery and because I am a high school teacher, coming back to school in September answering a million questions from students and staff and not sure how I'm going to answer. I'm not second guessing just in a weird place right now. Any thoughts?
