10 months happy (pictures)
VSGayle replied to gissell26's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Looking good! Hoping to do as well -
I also gained weight but also you can't compare your weight from one scale to another...that scale may be off and won't give you a correct weight anyway! That weight I gained from the surgery disappeared after a few days. Just keep up the good work!

Surgery in 3 hours...
VSGayle replied to laurenthomp93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! Praying for a speedy recovery! -
I was sleeved on the 6th and I almost CANCELLED the morning of the surgery but so glad I did not!! This went so smoothly but I had been reading a ton of negative stories...just remember everyone is different and that the majority of those getting sleeved don't have complications!

I had read about this pizza recipe using cauliflower for the crust but can't seem to find it anywhere...can someone post it for me? Thanks so much!

Thanks, Guys! Why didn't I think of that? -
I had my sleeve on the 6th and just wanted to let those worried that I did really well. I stayed overnight because I use a CPAP but honestly the worst part of this whole thing was the first two days of my pre-op diet. I don't know if it is because I have had major abdominal surgery in the past but this whole thing has been soooo much easier than I anticipated! I was so worried beforehand to the point that I was contemplating cancelling the morning of the surgery but am SO GLAD I DIDN'T. I had nausea immediately after surgery which they got under control very quickly and since then I have not had any. I can get my 2 protein drinks down a day (60 g protein) and had a little thinned yogurt, thinned cream of rice but the best thing I have added to my diet was 1/2 cup of low fat cream of mushroom soup...that tasted like real food I also have been adding non-fat dry milk powder to everything it mixes with (i.e. soup, yogurt, cream of rice) to add more protein without adding bulk. I also went up 6 pounds after the surgery but it is from the iv fluids they pump into you. That came off within a couple of days and now I am down 4.5 pounds from my surgery weight giving me a total of 18.5 including my pre-op diet. I had a little bit of gas but nothing like I am reading on here...so I feel very fortunate and blessed. I am not going to lie though..,I am worried about the upcoming hair loss :/ Praying everyone else can have a quick recovery also...so glad I went through with my decision...

June 6th. Looking for my sleeve siblings! :)

So, this is starting my 4th day and I am allowed to go to the bariatric fluids from the clear fluids. I am looking forward to a protein shake and hoping it sits well in my new tummy I feel very blessed that everything has gone so smoothly so far. Yesterday I tried to go without pain killers all day but around 7 in the evening I thought that was enough...so I took the liquid percocet and had a good night's sleep. Even was able to go to church today. Hoping everyone else is doing well... -

I am SLEEVED! Wow, can't believe it is over and I am home I was so,so,so worried before the procedure but I am very fortunate, pain is mild, keeping fluids down, no nausea since I have been out of recovery...so thankful that everything went well...glad to hear most of you are doing well...Christina - I hope you are doing better real soon! I was not afraid to ask for pain meds even if it was to help me sleep better! Dr said to take a walk for as long as I could every two hours and sip, sip, sip. -
My surgery is today...feel exactly the same way. I think I am finally at peace with this decision...praying for a great outcome with no complications! Will pray the same for everyone else going through this process. Good luck to you all and keep us posted! My surgery is at 11 today.

Good question...my surgery is tomorrow and I am most worried about that!
-
This is so encouraging...have been reading so many "not so happy" stories. I am scheduled for tomorrow and I almost don't want to come on here anymore because what I am reading is scaring me. But I also know that if I don't have the surgery that my health will continue to spiral downward...on the verge of diabetes, high cholesterol...etc with a family history of heart disease...so I know I need to lose weight but can't seem to do it on my own Way to go girl! Keep it up and keep posting your progress it is so good for the rest of us

Me too! June 6th in PA. And my brain is on a roller coaster...excited...but scared...my pre-op diet is going pretty well. Only had to for 8 days ...first two were tough but now I am fine...looking forward to being healthier and, of course, thinner =) And can I ask a dumb question? How do you start a new topic on this Forum? And how do you update your ticker? Thanks! -
Good luck!!!

Good luck to everyone! Wishing the best recoveries for all!

I am getting sleeved on Thursday and this scares me :/ My hair is already on the thin side...and I can't imagine my face without hair around it....hopefully it grows back quickly!!!

Cute pic! I hope I can say the same thing soon By the way, love your hair!! -
My Dr. called and asked if I would be willing to switch my date to Thursday instead of Wednesday...so now I am June 6th. One more day of the liquid diet :/ but that's ok

June 5th is coming fast! I have spent the last month doing the "lasts" like I do whenever I start a diet and have gained weight according to my dr.'s scale. I finally figured out how to do a ticker and am using my own home scale as my guide. I know that these are not "really" my lasts but it seems like such a long time before I will be able to eat normal (albeit) smaller meals again. I am really kind of nervous but so ready to take the first step...Dr. said to start the pre-op diet 5 days out but I started today...just want to get in the right mindset and try to lose a little before the surgery. Today wasn't too bad until I had an appointment in the afternoon and I forgot to bring a shake with me. By the time I was done my appointment, I was getting the shakes and a headache and felt like passing out but I still had to stop at the grocery store to pick up the stuff for my diet...soon as I got home I chugged a protein shake and then made some soup. I laid down to try and calm my head and fell asleep. Headache is now a little better Anyone else do the "lasts" like I did?

I just tried the Premium Protein...I liked it But am going to try the GNC's AMP WHeybolic Extreme 60 Chocolate since it was rated so highly on here!
