Can you post your surgery date and the things you are eating? I know some of you are on full liquids for some time, but I'm wondering about the purees and soft stagers?
-
I go through edamame like nobody's business.
-
June sleevers, what are you eating?
getlownurse replied to getlownurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I eat edamame a lot because soybeans have tons of protein and I love salt. Shredded pork with black beans or refried beans. Chicken or steak tacos. I have a lemon pepper bumblebee tuna can for lunch a lot, it's 18 grams of protein and justtheright amount of food. Sometimes I put tortilla chips on a ceramic plate and out cheese, jalapeños, and steak or chicken strips on top and heat into the oven for a few minutes. Then dip it in some guacamole or sour cream. Can't eat a bunch but it tastes amazing. Can't think of much else. I'm having serious trouble getting fluids in. Haaaate the way water goes down, even when flavored with lemon or crystal light or even Koop aid packets. Unfortunately, I only like sugary coffees and teas. I'd really love some fluid advice. -
What is the outfit you dream about wearing after you slim down ?

Surgeon YES! Coordinator NO!
getlownurse replied to 2btrim's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I didn't go with one doctor solely because the coordinator was unprofessional. That's not an answer to op's question, but is relatable. -
Lightweights in the house! Any more people with less to lose/less BMI's?
getlownurse replied to MumtazG38's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From flab, did the donky zebra pic in Mexico too lol. You look amazing, congrats -
What foods do you no longer like?
getlownurse replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Salmon steaks. I still like salmon cakes/patties, but salmon fillets aren't doing a thing for me. -
Anyone have or had Dr. Ortiz? I dont see any mention of his name?
getlownurse replied to Heather Meyer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Which Ortiz? There are two. I'm into Ortiz who works at mi doctor with alighterme. He did me right, alongside dr Lopez. I'm sure Ariel Ortiz is great as well, but two diff people. Good luck. -
Dr. Lopez, Tijuana August 6, 2013
getlownurse replied to mscands's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
No food needed. Laxative- the paperwork says any brand. Idk about Canada, but in the US, you just go to the aisle in the store with laxativs and pick one. You will have no issues with your flight. You take the laxative three days before surgery. You fly the day before. You will not poop yourself. -
Dr. Alejandro López Ortega or Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela ?
getlownurse replied to sugarpop's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Mscands, you're to take the laxative three days before. Not the day prior. You should have no issues with the flight. -
Anyone else hate the protein shakes?
getlownurse replied to reenalee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I don't do the shakes. Hate them. Did one or two but that's it. I try to eat all protein. Tuna, chicken, turkey, beef, eggs. -
I'm a month and two days out. Went diving yesterday. Had no problems, but we stayed at about 15 feet most of the time. I did go down in a 30 foot cavern for 5 minutes or so. Had a tad bit of dizziness coming up, but that happened to me several times before. I'm thinking it's more of a diabetes thing. Good to see other divers here. Out of curiosity, where are y'all located? I'm Florida, we have some amazing springs and locations to dive.

Huge difference new mommy! You look amazing.

I didn't follow my pre op diet at all. I also had a harder first few days after surgery than I thought I would. I'm not saying those two are at all related, just throwing it out there. I'm just words on the Internet though. Keep trucking.

What are your long term fitness goals
getlownurse replied to Fiddleman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Short term- join a boxing gym. Long term- be super crazy fit like the hardcore boxing chicks. Those defined arm muscles, the endurance, the sweat. - also want to kiteboard a ton more but this is contingent on moving to the beach (I'm an hour and a half drive away now) -
The gladiator protein powder from smoothie king
getlownurse replied to EllaJo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Gladiator is the only protein drink I can stomach. I like it. I have them out strawberry and kiwi in. It's expensive though, like $5 a pop. -
When were you able to eat? Like really eat.
getlownurse replied to need2bthin!'s topic in Food and Nutrition
7 or 8 days, to be honest. -
The only tuna I can eat is the lemon pepper by bumble bee. I sort of despise tuna, but I like that kind. I also hate mayo.

Dr Quinones issues
getlownurse replied to saccarmen's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was pretty set on having my surgery with quinones. Then I spoke to the coordinator and I was seriously turned off. I went instead with dr Lopez. Perhaps you are better off with the new coordinators. I'm not sure of the integrity of the person I spoke with. That's just an opinion. -
HOSPITAL ACCOMMODATIONS 4 FRIEND/FAMILY
getlownurse replied to newmeby50's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
When I was walking the halls of mi doctor, I looked in to every room on the floor. All but one had an extra bed. The one without an extra bed had a reclining chair. the one with the recliner actually looked awesome, it was a bigger room and the chair was all leather and Cush looking. -
HOSPITAL ACCOMMODATIONS 4 FRIEND/FAMILY
getlownurse replied to newmeby50's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Same as mrspetethecat. There was an extra bed in my room at mi doctor. I didn't have a guest though. The hotel would have included a guest for no cost. I used alighterme. -

My baby is 9 months yesterday, and I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. I've had no problems taking care of him. The first few days I had my husband doing most of the lifting and holding, but I did some. I could have done it all, had I needed to. Good luck!

It was worse for me. I had two c-sections and those were a piece of cake for me. This was reeeaaaally rough for the first couple of days. I would do it again, but I would dread the first day or two. No nausea or anything, just a general very bad feeling. However, the eating and all the after healing has been smooth.
