In a few hours, here we go!!! This month will be filled with our stories, huge milestones in our lives. Let us not take for granted where we have been and where we will go from here. Thanks to all of the ones who have gone before us, paving the way and helping calm our fears. Thanks to this community, for giving us others to bounce our thoughts and fears off of. Thank you all for the shoulders I will undoubtedly cry on. Prayers, good luck, and God speed. See you on the losers bench.

I practiced twice and failed miserably. I've decided that I'll do better when I know there are consequences. -

Great suggestions from all posts above. I'll be going June 19 and am also using a lighter me. I chose TJ as opposed to Mexicali, PV, cancun etc because I wanted the drive to and from the San Diego airport to be very quick. Im personally kind of excited to be going alone. I will miss my husband and babies, but I could really use the "me" time

Prom / wedding dress challenge
getlownurse replied to missyjoy2078's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Burn book! Ha. My husband and I planned a wedding but military orders kept us from having a real one. A couple of years ago, I bought a wedding dress a few sizes smaller than I wore and planned to go to a photographer so that we could have a real wedding picture to hang on the wall. Then I Gained and gained and never got my picture . I'm being sleeved in 20 days tho, and I'm getting into that damn dress by the end of the year! -

Lightweights in the house! Any more people with less to lose/less BMI's?
getlownurse replied to MumtazG38's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in. I'm a low bmi of 30. It's been as high as 38. Lost and Gained so many times. Daily life has been such a struggle with eating and working out for so many years and I'm sick of it. Now that I'm diabetic and pre hypertensive, I'm over it. Diabetes is draining me. 5'3" and 180, I'd like to be at 120. While I suffer from physical problems related to my weight, I still feel like higher bmi people want to be mean and bully me. This has never happened, just a weird fixation in my mind. It's late. I'm going to shut up. -

Previous poster, i too get nervous. I question whether I'm doing the right thing. I mean- this will probably get rid of my diabetes, hypertension, and cure my addictive eating issues. I will likely not develop a host of other issues, and I'll probably live a longer life if I am able to get to a normal weight. On the other hand, what if something goes wrong? I die and leave my three year old and seven month old without a mother? I've read stories of people ending up hospitalized for months with sepsis or leaks... Then I can't work and provide food and shelter for those babies? Obviously the chances of that are very slim, so I will forge ahead. But they are definitely concerns that scare me. I'm also anxious to go through the breakup with food. I know that is going to be a hard process. So I choose to not think of those things when they pop into my head. I am doing this and life will be so much better. Only positive outcomes can happen! -
No longer invisible, and that's what I wanted, I thought ...

I was deployed a few times. There are any more men than women. Of those few women, Half or less are attractive and thin. ThEn half of those are service members and wear unflattering uniforms 24/7. The other half a civilians who can wear what they want. Every woman deployed gets tons of attention, tons. But the higher the ladder you go, you'll get just that much more. Iris constant, and it is actually crazy. By the time you go home, you can not wait to be "average"again. Those berating the original poster- you have no idea. Leave it be. As a county singer said in a song, "over here in the desert we grade on a curve.". Truth. -

I keep fainting.

From sitting to standing is orthostatic hypotension. Look that up. Blood pressure is dropping at that moment. Try taking iron pills, standing u slowly, and protein. -
