Contacts.... they always seem to forget to tell you how to tell if they're inside out... Most contacts, if you hold them up to the light... will have either letters or numbers on them... 123, or letters. If they're not backwards, they're not inside out. I had contacts for years before they told me that. You're supposed to tell by the curve of the outside edge, but that's a little harder to figure out. Today was very busy... TOPS (lost a fraction of a pound! Four losses in a row, but not much to celebrate as they seem minuscule!), water aerobics, hot tub. Got back from the pool and had a phone message from the elderly couple from OK and they wanted to meet us for lunch, so it was off to DHS and Sidewinders where I enjoyed my favorite seafood omelet... Have only had 2 or 3 all winter. I have enough left over to last me about 4-5 more mornings! Friend looks pretty good considering, at 87, she had 10" of gangrenous colon removed just a little over 2 weeks ago. But... Dr. appt and lunch with us was a little much and I could see she was getting very uncomfortable by the time we finished lunch. We got home at exactly 2 pm which was when I'd agreed that we'd go over to visit with a couple from OR that we've had very little time to see this winter. They have had lots of company and we've been so busy. So sat over there drinking coffee for an hour and a half or so. Then to the mailbox, library (saw people dropping off books there a lot this week so thought I"d go "shopping"), and did a little visiting on the way back. Just busy, busy, busy all day long! Nothing going on tomorrow. Saturday... dinner in Palm Desert with two couples we graduated high school with. Sunday.. church in the morning and neighbors invited us over to their RV for Easter dinner in the afternoon.. with some other couples. Monday... last Red Hat luncheon in Palm Springs. Tuesday... off to 29 Palms Marine base most of the day to pick up Rx refills and Wed. we're out of here.

Yeah... as soon as I heard this storm was coming I started plotting to make chili! We love it. DH puts it together, then I season it. He's not allowed to do seasoning because he always over does it... too much of everything, especially salt! We have worn out our crockpot. He put it by the door to go to the dump. He found a crack in the pot and one of the handles is broken, so in danger of being dropped every time we lift it or move it. Just discovered those two problems today. I'm hoping to buy a new one before we leave because we'll be on the road at least two weeks and we like to make things in the crock pot... chili, soups, stew. So I don't want to be without one for the trip home. We leave a week from today.

You got that right! Linda's DH sounds exactly like mine! I made him buy new sandals the other day because he was wearing his crocs EVERYWHERE and they died about 2 years ago! They look awful! The insides of his tennis shoes are all torn up, too. They are NEXT on my list! It's very windy here today, and much cooler... like in the 60's. And it's supposed to be pretty nasty tomorrow. Even colder, 40 mph winds, possible rain and thunderstorms. So we made a big crockpot full of Chilli today! Had a little for lunch. It's DELICIOUS!

Hi, Guess I forgot to tell you all that when Earl had the RV in for tires and oil change they found a cracked serpentine belt... whatever that is. So they ordered a new one and he had an appointment to go back in today. But when he got there, they'd ordered the wrong size belt. So they got another from a Chevy dealer across town. Then they had the wrong size bearing and something else wasn't right! He finally got out of there a little before 2:30 pm. By then I'd gottne completely bored and drove over there to Costco to fill up the gas tank and go to Starbucks. Sat outside at Starbucks reading my book and saw him go around the corner... he went to Costco to top off the RV gas tank so we'd be ready to hit the road next week. So I was ousted at 7:30 a.m. again. Sat in the car and drank my coffee and read the paper until one of the neighbors came and knocked on my window and invited me over to sit in their yard. So I did.. until it was time for the restaurant to open. Then I went and had breakfast.... one egg, slice of ham, home fries and an English muffin. Put half the slice of ham in the muffin and wrapped it up in a napkin to save for lunch. Went to beading for about 2 hrs after water aerobics/hot tub. Only two others there besides me, so instructor helped me with the little purse I missed out on a few weeks ago. Finished that before 1 pm and left. It's teeny, tiny... like to wear on a chain as a necklace. I'm going to make two even smaller ones for earrings. So.... now it's late and I'm oh so tired, so... later, chicks!!

I did go shopping. He really kind of wanted me out of the way anyway! Got 4 Papaya at Riteaid... 2 for 1, Glossy was closed, found a nice pair of white pants at K-Mart for $7.98. Nice fit... supposed to be capris.. but you know how that goes!! I'm short... they come about to my ankles. I like them, but probably shouldn't wear my new striped or polka dot underwear with them! I don't do boring old white undies.. always colors, so solids will have to do even if they are red, black, royal blue, or turquoise. Maybe grey would work better. Probably not purple. Anyway, I like the way the pants fit and I've been looking for a white pair for a long time. Then I went to Starbucks, of course, for my SF, FF latte, and I bought a California coffee mug there, too! That's another thing that Earl counts... how many coffee mugs I have! I like the size of the Starbucks mugs. I have one that says "Palm Springs", now the CA one, and my son-in-law brought me one from Jordan or Egypt or somewhere over there... I forget. It's at home in the condo! Sheet rock... have helped my Dad do it, many years ago... it's HEAVY!! Don't know if you could lift it, Karla!! It will take 2 people to lift it in to place and nail it.

We had one of those entertainment centers, too! When we got a big screen, we took out the center section and put it in our bedroom. Worked great. Then we moved to a condo... less than 1000 sq ft!! Guess what.. center section is STILL in our bedroom being used for storage! The rest of the entertainment was sold with our house, and the big screen TV. Have a flat screen hanging above our fireplace now. I have a hard time getting rid of photos! I love having them around! A good alternative is a digital photo frame. In fact, we even have one hanging in the RV. It's always turned on.. 24/7! It's tiny, but it's opposite where I always sit and I love looking at the pictures. They are all several years old, though, and every day I think.... I need to make a new SD card of more recent photos! I guess it was one of those days!! DH decided he needed to start getting us ready to head north. So he did a massive inventory of all the canned goods, dragged out all my books so I can go through them, and reorganized about everything in the kitchen/living room area. I endured it as long as I could. Then I escaped and took a ride in to town! Got Papaya at Riteaid... 2 for1 this week, finally found a pair of white pants that fit nice at KMart for only $7.98, and topped off the afternoon with a SF, FF Starbucks latte! Now I am surrounded by things I have to "process", sort and find a place for!! Yuck!

Hmmmm.... where WOULD one get a vanilla bean??? Have you tried the sugar free flavorings?? Laura... what kind of cereal?? I bought some shredded wheat a month or so ago, but when I tried to eat it... softened it up with soy milk. It went down fine... but then seemed to swell up and I pb'd most of it. Janet, I think I'm going to head for DHS and do some shopping, too. Earl is packing up the RV already! Told him we have 10 days, but he insists he has to start NOW! So I think I'll just get out of here!! He is redoing his canned goods inventory for openers!! But I've asked him to put all my books in one place so I can organize them, too. Maybe I'll even INVENTORY my books!! LOL! But I know I'm in for a count if he gets them out for me. He's going to tell me how many books I have, probably how many purses I have in the RV, how many hats and how many pairs of shoes! I hate when that happens! LOL

Since FB quiz says my "old lady name" is Opal, that's what I'm calling my evil twin. Yes, the salmon was delicious! And I think Earl said the neighbors gave us some salmon steaks from their freezer before they left. They actually put a small chest type freezer in the back of their minivan when they come down here so they can come loaded with all kinds of fish that they catch in the summer. Live WAY up in the northern part of B.C. They left early this morning. Bunch of us went out to dinner last night with them. Chicken place... and I didn't have any problem with the chicken, for a change!! Of course, it could be because I greased it up with taters and gravy! Earl is on a packing kick, so I think I am going to vacate the premises!! He's taking everything off the table and benches so he can pack the storage areas under the benches. Whatever he puts in there, I won't see for a month. So.. I'm torn... do I want to stay and supervise that process or just get out of the way. I'm thinkin' DHS - Glossy, K-Mart, Riteaid (Papaya is 2 for 1 this week) and, of course, end my trip at Starbucks. Noisy outside... neighbors just got home from "Cowboy Church"! You seem to have a magic touch for fixing things!! Hope the laptop continues to operate normally!! Mirror sounds lovely! I LOVE mirrors! Red Robin.... I'm telling you.... Chicken Ensanada Plate!! It's delicious... and only 692 calories if you order it with just 1 chicken breast. They always offer salad dressing.. which I'm sure ups the calorie count, but salsa and some other sauce comes with it and you really don't need the salad dressing. It's SO GOOD!!

Good Morning! Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend! Party went well yesterday. Wind/weather cooperated. Neighbors across the street are leaving tomorrow morning, so they threw this party out behind their park model... they're on the desert, so lots of room out there. About 30 people showed up. We were back home by 8 p.m. and I only had 2 small glasses of wine, so my evil twin did not show up! But I had to take plenty of teasing about the "palm tree party" the other night! Lots of salmon there, so kept my food pretty good! Plus, I was tight yesterday. Had mostly salmon, shrimp, little bit of potato salad, small spoonful of spaghetti and a couple of small cocktail meatballs.

Sounds like a WONDERFUL day/weekend for you! Glad everything went well.... except for the horse on the freeway!! I am the oldest of 4 daughters. But they're all great.... two have occasional problems, but when we all get together we have a blast. Love to sit on youngest sister's front porch with some wine on a summer evening! Looking forward to that at the end of the summer!

Karla, I don't think young people these days have a CLUE!! But, seems your daughters should be a little more mature at their ages. I remember when our three oldest threw a 25th wedding anniversary party for us back in 1989. Youngest son promised to come and help them. He didn't show up, but when we all went back to the house to go in the pool... there he was having a party with his friends. He was 17 at the time. Kids got there before us and almost killed him!! Earl "thinks" I hit my head, but... SAND... so shouldn't have jarred my brain! Think maybe I'm having allergy problems cuz I was sneezing like crazy last night when the wind was blowing. It's died down this morning, so I better go get ready for the pool. No excuses not to go!! Hope it doesn't start up again. Neighbors are nervous about that because party this afternoon is on their porch and no room inside for all of us!!

Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend! Yeah... end of season parties. Tonight two carloads of us went to Miracle Springs for dinner and the Range Riders concert. Had a good time. One glass of wine before we went! I"m almost afraid to drink now. And I asked Earl tonight if I hit my head when I fell... can't remember much about that evening, headache and not dizzy, but keep losing my balance. Almost fell a couple of times today and yesterday.

Linda.... you do a GREAT job of keeping up with everyone! It's so overwhelming! Yes, Lori... thinking of you this weekend. So much so that I keep thinking we're busy this weekend.. when it's really YOU that has a BIG weekend! LOL! Linda, glad your snow has melted! We're having great weather here right now, but this morning's weather report sounded a big ominous... like wind is already kicking up AGAIN, and temps are supposed to cool off.. but that just means it might not be in the 80's for a day or two!! Thanks for your compliments on my jewelry. I so much enjoy making it. I don't think I'm particularly talented in that arena, but teacher keeps asking me if I've ever done any painting, or am I an artist!!?? She thinks I have a good eye for putting colors together. I had a compliment at Red Hats yesterday.. lady at my table was admiring my "Red Hat" bracelet and earrings andshe was all ooooos & aahhhhs when I told her I made it. She said if I'd make some more, she'd buy it from me and is sure I could sell to the Red Hat ladies. I've thought about that. Afraid people wouldn't want to pay the price because buying those beads is not cheap!!

You may have room for a quilt, but not all the "tools" of your trade!!?? That guitar will take up some room, too! We carry way too much junk with us! Keep it simple. You're Canadian... don't you play Cribbage??? I thought all Canadians played that!

You like those little zip up jackets, don't you. The Walmart here still has some of those you talked abut a couple of months ago. I like things like that, too. When we get home I guess I will have to start looking for a wedding outfit, too. I have a niece in Buffalo who is getting married the end of August and I want to find myself a "stunning" outfit to wear. We're going to take the RV... Seattle to Buffalo to Oklahoma City and then back here to the desert. So we won't be home for very long this year!!

Good Morning! I'm here! Red Hat picnic yesterday afternoon up at Whitewater Preserve. So I was gone from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. No excuse after that... I think I was playing solitaire and sudoku on my laptop most of the evening! TOPS this morning.... we'll see... Wii says I'm down 1 1/2 lb. It and our scale don't always agree. Our German neighbors flew back to Germany yesterday so we have a huge RV next to us in their spot. Relatively young couple compared to the rest of us, with at least one huge dog. "Range Riders" concert tonight at Miracle Springs... dinner there with the neighbors beforehand. Too much eating this weekend. Canadians are all leaving... Happy Hour party tomorrow afternoon... heavy snacks. I think we're taking prawns.... peel and eat, with cocktail sauce.

Well, I guess it was funny, but now I'm embarrassed, after Earl told me some of the things I did! Didn't get hurt falling down and don't even remember it except for a very vague memory of a close encounter with the sand... and had sand under my fingernails this morning! I'm having ONE glass of wine today. Kind of scares me that I don't remember things like falling down, and eating pizza. I woke up at 1 a.m. all mad because I came back to the RV before Jim got back with the pizza, only to find out I DID have some pizza! RV sounds nice, Steph. You'll enjoy the convenience when you're doing your kettle korn thing! Sorry you got the flu! Thought that was all done for the winter! Michael preparations moving right along! That's good!

Okay----I definitely overdid it last night with the wine! Earl was getting ready to BBQ steak on the grill yesterday afternoon when we heard all this laughing and carrying on behind us. So he went to investigate and didn't come back right away, so I took my glass of wine and followed him. There was an impromptu party going on.... the men were digging holes to plant some palm trees and the ladies were watching and having some wine. I remember about the first two hours and that's it. I guess I embarrassed myself. I have sand and dirt under my fingernails.. apparently fell down. Don't remember that or eating pizza! Earl said I had two pieces of pizza. I have NEVER EVER drank so much that I didn't remember things! So... true confessions here!! Must never do that again!!

Where is everyone today??? Not one single post, and very few yesterday! I am feeling "down in the dumps" today for no particular reason. Skipped water aerobics this morning... it was gloomy, chilly and windy outside. So we went to the rehab center to visit our friend from OK. Then we went to Costco and Walmart. Got home almost 30 minutes late for book club, but I went anyways. Shouldn't have bothered. By the time I got there, the one book I'd read they were just finished discussing. Ad the one they talked about after that wasn't even on the list I had for this month! We usually read 2 books. But last month someone was not happy with the choice for #2 book and suggested several others. So I didn't know what the heck I was supposed to read but definitely not the one they apparently read! I think I am missing some of the emails. Besides that, the chair I was directed to was kind of situated such that it was pretty impossible to carry on a conversation with anyone when the general discussion was over. Kind of felt like a 5th wheel but probably my own fault because of the mood I was in. Plus, felt like this month's hostess sort of slapped my wrist at the pool yesterday in front of a bunch of people. She let me borrow her book. While I was reading it, one of the other gals sent out an email asking if she could borrow someone's book. So I emailed back that I had Jean's book but was almost finished with it. So she sent another email to both me and to Jean saying she would have the book next. Well, Jean says she didn't get the email and she would have "preferred" that I gave the book back to her so her sister could read it. I guess my fault... I should have made sure it was okay to pass the book on, but I see them passing books on at the pool all the tme and I just assumed it wold be okay. MY BAD!!! So shoot me already!

Yeah... missed opportunity. By the time he got back I'd been sitting on the neighbors patio finishing up my jewelry and drinking wine for about an hour and didn't care! LOL! I'm BAD!! And now he tells me we have a cracked belt of some kind so we repeat the whole scenario as soon as the belt comes in! UGH! Hope all works out for your closing. We have done at least one that I can think of "in absentia" by signing papers at our convenience at another time. Or you can ask for a specific amount of time to get out of the house.

So so day here today... warm temps, partly sunny skies, but clouded up this afternoon and the wind picked up. Beading today...made bracelet and earrings. "Homeless" most of the day... evicted by Earl at 7:30 a.m. when he took the motor home in for 2 new tires and oil change. He didn't get back until about 5 p.m., so long day for me. He walked a lot.... Costco, Walmart, Casino... where he won $90+, and Dominos for pizza!
