I kept a dose of pain med on my night stand to take during the night. That got me a good night's sleep every night.

You thought this all through and made what you felt were the right decisions. Its just the emotions and the nervousness taking over. You'll be okay. We all have those "what if I don't wake up" thoughts. You'll be in good hands... they'll take good care of you!

MEN!! We're here for you CC. You'll be fine. Best wishes. We'll be waiting to hear how it went.

Glad you're doing well, Christina!! I think we all cheated a little on our preop. I had my wekend in Whistler where I enjoyed a few treats and then my "Last Supper" of my favorite Italian food the day before surgery!! Are you on full liquids now? I have two weeks of that before "mushies". I'm getting about 40 gm of protein a day, 450 calories or less. A few fleeting twinges of hunger pains, but for the most part, satisfied. Coughing a lot for the last day or so.. maybe a hld over from anesthesia.

Prayers and good wishes to all on board for tomorrow!! I'll be especially thinking about that commute out of Toronto!! I've been in Toronto traffic!! And our trip home from Seattle Friday just hours after my surgery........ All I can say is have them hit you with that pain med just before you hit the road!! :car::car::car::car::car::grouphug:

Riah: I start my diet tomorrow - NOT FUN. Not anywhere what you are having to go through, but a lot of counting grams and making sure I am getting the right amounts of all the nutrients. Basically, a pain in the butt. But it will all be worth it and will be good practice for when I have to kick things up a notch before surgery. I made the sobering realization that I have to record every single thing that I eat (and all the lovely exercise that I have to do) for the next three months!!![img=http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif] Some of us like to use FitDay.com to track our intake, weight, exercise, etc. Its easy to use. I purchased the software so I don't have to be online to use it.

How is weight loss for people over 50?
phyllser replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Welcome, Debbs, You will find this site very friendly and informative. Feel free to ask questions. I was banded 5 days ago. Doing well. On full liquids for two weeks. Lost almost 20 lb on preop diet. -
Good Morning! Janet, you didn't use your vicodin after you got home?? Wow! Mine is almost gone. Didn't take any all day yesterday, but port was bothering me after I went to bed last night and DH had to go get me a tsp of it. I have been tapering off on it and maybe I could've gotten by with just Tylenol last night. Overall I think I'm doing pretty good. Seem to be coughng a lot since last night. Maybe still have some gunk from anesthesia to get rid of.

Good for you, girl. Glad you got your fill. That should give you a new jump start!!

Denise is HOME!! Good for you! Thanks, Chim! I don't really feel old!! You're going to do great tomorrow. Do you have to stay overnight? Yeah, I'm still here, Dini. Glad you found your shoes!! We're going to head over to our daughter's house in a little while. Good change of scene and DH gets to have normal dinner!! I'll take some cream soup.

I really haven't had any gas pain at all. Some pain in the shoulders, but pretty much gone today. A little port pain, well controlled with the luquid vicodin. Haven't had any since early this morning. Don't need it much now. I'm really pleased with how I'm feeling and how things are going, especially for an OLD broad like me!!

Exciting that you are getting your fill tomorrow. Hope all goes well for you. I've been out and about the neighborhood on my handicap scooter today. Had a dental appt. this morning. Got through that well, so I went on to the grocery store and then across the street to get my hair cut. No pain med since 4:30 a.m.

Just turn a deaf ear to that junk, Sweety! She may be jealous, getting anxious for you, certainly not as informed as you, and neither is her student nurse friend! SHAKE IT OFF!!

Liquid Adult tylenol is a good idea, Kathy, and Gas-X strips for gas pain.

Thanks, Linda. I put a call in to the doc about the temp..just 99.2 this morning, though. The diarrhea wasn't any surprise except for the intensity and I'm not running too fast at the moment!! So sorry for the loss of that little boy. So very sad!
-
:cry OOPS!! I guess I missed a few letters!! Sorry, Sheelagh!! Temp is gone this morning and I'm feeling better except for the runss!! Seems to me a couple of you complained about diarrhea. Is this normal?? I'm ready to be done with it!!

:welcomeB: Hi, Alesha, Yes, we have a couple of people from Ireland. DINI and I'm afraid I forgot how to spell the other lady's name, Alegh or something like that I think. But Dini should be on later. She's a couple of weeks post op and she helps keep things hoppin' here!! She's the one who dubbed me "Auntie" Phyl, and we love her a lot!!

Hi, Dini, Yes, I'm still a little sore today. The usual..port site aches, left shoulder and neck. Then when I finally had my first poop, I got the runs something terrible for an hour or so. It quit as abruptly as it started. I'm doing a little better with liquids and protein today. I've had 40 gms of protein, 338 calories, 40 oz of sugar free stuff. Tried the peanut butter in my chocolate protein and it was a nice change. Prayers and best wishes for those being banded tomorrow. We're all in this together and it makes such a difference. Indiogirl, Glad you are doing better today. We will definitely have to get together when we come south this winter. And I'm hoping toattend some of Dr. Bobby's support group meetings.
