Thanks, Peaches! I appreciate the encouragement from ALL of you Lucky#7's! We're ALL doing great!!

So sorry to hear of your struggles, Cherea. Hope things start looking up for you soon. God is FAITHFUL! Sometimes we have to walk through some hard things. I'll be praying for you! We've missed you around here.

YOUNGER!! I like that! I noticed that, too! Thanks! Hi, Nina! I loaded my pictures on Photobucket. Under "Effects" on their site, you can resize them... They have pixel limits here, so if you exceed the limits, photos won't upload. Also, the little insert photo icon is not always up there in the menu! So then you have to go down below to Additional Options and then Manage Attachments to upload your picture. Hope that helps. HaHa!! After watching that Green Bay game yesterday I see why you want to get out of there!! We're in Desert Hot Springs CA in our RV... we have a pull out couch you can sleep on!! LOL Thanks! Sorry you can't make it to Quartzsite Thursday. Would've enjoyed meeting you. Yes, maybe another time. Hope the weather is decent Thursday! It's so windy today. I better not say it's "chilly".... 58 degrees!! Sounds tropical to some of you, I know!!! Don, yes... PATIENCE, PATIENTS!! The government never does anything fast! Hope something starts happening for you soon. Yes, trying to get all the 60+ people over to this new site so we can all hang out together instead of scattered around. We all have similar "issues".

Well, I was going to post my pictures! What happened to the little icon that lets you insert a photo?? No longer there?!
-
Thanks, Sue. I think I'll post my before & current picture. By the way, did you get to watch the Seahawks/Packers massacre on the ship?? If not, just as well. It was sad! They just couldn't contend with Brett and the snow!

Thanks! I appreciate all the kudos!!

Welcome home!! Great news on the weight! You did good! My 6 month "bandiversary" today!

I LOVED my carbonated drinks prior to surgery. I had 1-2 Diet Cokes a day and we have our own carbonator, so would carbonate water and sometimes add sugar free flavoring. I have never been a water drinker. Love my coffee, but usually 1-2 cups in the morning and that's it unless I treat myself to a Starbucks later in the day... sugar free, fat free. So I was somewhat upset when I was told at my first dietician appointment... no caffeine, no carbonated drinks. I quit the Diet Coke about 6 weeks before surgery and switched to decaf coffee. Six weeks after surgery, when I asked if I could ever have my caffeine back, the P.A. said, "who told you that you couldn't have caffeine????" I was ready to strangle someone! So I added back my morning coffee... no more decaf. But I have not had any diet coke. A couple of weeks ago, I thought, since we have our own carbonator, we can control the amount of carbonation, so maybe I could try some carbonated water with a little flavoring in it. So we made a jug, but I found I was very intimidated about drinking it. I was so afraid to drink it that my fluid intake took a nose dive. So we haven't mixed any more. I really don't miss it and I drink crystal lite all day long! AFTER my morning coffee, that is!

HELLO, any oldies out there? I'm almost 63 and want to live.

That cartoon is TOOOO much, Sunshine!!! Funny!! I may have to borrow that!! Maybe we can get some of these "oldies" over to the 60+ thread??? -
Thanks. I can see a difference now! Feeling good and DH is getting downright frisky! TMI.... sorry!
-
Thanks, Janet!! I do see a difference.

I'm not sure the 60+ folks are finding this thread. I started a new one called New 60+ Thread or something like that.

I just started a new thread under the 60's threads called New 60+ Thread. Maybe that will get folks over to that one??! -

A place for bandsters in their 60's

New format has its pros and cons! Only 60's thread I can find is under "I like this"! Going to Quartzsite this thursday, just for the day. Going to the pool right now, but when I get back I'll PM you my cell phone number... if you think you might be there that day. Would love to meet. We're going alone. So we're open to any suggestions. We just usually roam up & down the swap meet stuff after the BIG TENT. -
FitDay.com is another good site for tracking your calories, weight, exercise, etc. They also have software you can buy & download for those times when you don't have internet access.

Crispy snack Wrap is 330 calories. Nutrition facts are on their web site. I think the grilled is 270. Probably not a bad choice when you're out and about.

Hmmm... Yes, drive carefully! Sue should be back from her cruise soon, right? Like this weekend? Any of you NW people going to the Seattle Splash?? Sounds fun!

I KNEW I liked you, Mango!! I'm so sad to hear these "MOM" stories!! Good Grief!! You gals are survivors!! Heroes, even!

Well, it hasn't been a GREAT winter so far, but can't complain about 50-60s. Just don't like the wind and it's been blowing a lot! Surprised that your Y doesn't have water aerobics! One I belonged to in OK before we moved had both high and low impact and at several times during the day. Here at the park we use a 60 minute tape... Billie Jo's Wet & Wonderful Celebration. It's listed on Amazon, but no longer available apparently.

Hi, We're going next week, Thursday, but just for the day. Sorry to hear of your sickness!
-
Nah, I'm not ready for rehab yet! I just had my one little glass tonight. I know you were teasing... that's why I had to tease you back! DH doesn't know this, but for a while there last year, every time I knew he'd bought another pack of cigarettes.... I would go buy lottery tickets....$5-10 worth!! He HATES it when I buy lottery tickets! It was my little secret GOTCHA!! I don't know what i would've done if I won big money!!! It would have been "fess up" time!! LOL I'm so sorry to hear what you and Karri had to go through with your moms. I remember as a child fearing that I was going to have to suffer something horrible because I felt so blessed with the family that I had. We were by no means well off, but I had two parents who loved me, a hard working Dad, three little sisters and I felt really lucky. So i would always worry that something bad was going to happen! There were some rocky years with my Mom, but, just normal stuff. I was the oldest so on Saturdays I had to scrub the kitchen floor on my hands & knees, clean the bedroom I shared with my sisters and change all the sheets, clean the bathroom and vacuum and dust the living room. I could've had it all done in a short time, but I was a great procrastinator even then, so I'd drag it out all day. And we'd bicker and fight about it because Mom would be nagging me all day to get it done. But when I look back on it, it was good discipline. My Mom is still alive, 86 1/2 yrs. She's suffering right now because she knows she's about to lose her only sister, my Aunt Genny, who is about 8 yrs younger than her but very sick with cancer. I can't think of anything really outrageous that I've ever eaten at one sitting. I know I've put away four doughnuts on more than one occasion. One of my "things" was Campbell's Franco American Spaghetti!! I could eat a whole can of that, no problem, along with one or two hot dogs. I've always eaten too much and all the wrong things, but no really bad binging. Someone, I think Peaches, asked what happened to my weight graph. I got rid of it because it was so big... and because everyone was talking about not wanting anyone to know how much they weighed and there was my weight out there for everyone to see!! So I ditched it last night.

Hi, Steph and welcome to our group. AND, Happy Birthday! :smokin: :seeya: This is a great group! I had to give Janet a bad time about my afternoon wine... my vice!! But notice I was then hiding behind the couch because she's probably going to chew me out now!! LOL
-
          :scared: Now wait just a cotton pickin' minute here, Girlfriend!! Those are fightin' words!! Why should I have to give up my wine just because he quit smoking!!??? I use a VERY small wine glass... like 3-4 oz. And never have more than one or two glasses each afternoon! Really! Honest! Never! :seeya: Anyways, how long do you think his not smoking will last????? I don't want to even try to count how many times I've been through this before! Then there's the 7 years I thought he'd quit when he really hadn't! Am I stupid and naive??? Yes, of course! I believed him and told everyone how proud I was when he'd really never quit! Then there was the day our youngest daughter took me aside and said, "Mom, haven't you noticed that every time Dad has to go to Safeway for something he comes home smelling like cigarettes???" :smokin: So I'm a little cynical about this whole quit smoking thing. And between him being grumpy with the nicotine withdrawl, not to mention the stock market whining and crying, please don't deny me my wine!! I will surely die! Or at least lose my sanity. I love you, anyway!
