Good Morning, Chuck! You've come to the right place for education, support, encouragement, etc. This is a great site. I know there are other "bandsters" in your area. You might also check the Yahoo group, SmartBandsters@Yahoo.com. I know there is a PNW bandster group there, too. There are a lot of emails that come through, so my suggestion, if you decide to sign up, is to check the option for "daily digests", rather than get the individual emails. Also, there is a thread on this site for those of us who are 60+. It's titled "New 60+ Thread". Something else you might want to consider. Feb 15-17 there is a conference at the Seattle Airport Marriott called "Seattle Splash". I think it is $150 for the whole weekend and it includes a couple of meals. There will be doctors, and other professionsals as well as lots of "bandsters". I live in Everett and if I were home, I would definitely be there. We are "Snowbirds" spending the winter in So CA. Sounds informative and fun. They have a website: 6th Annual Seattle Bandster Bash and Splash What is PB? Productive Burp... something that's never happened to me and I've been banded 6+ months, but it occurs when you eat too much, too fast, etc. Apparently, not the same as vomiting.. food just kind of pops out. Not fun, they say! Especially in public! But so far I've managed to avoid doing that. Your screen name... are you a Ham radio guy?? I have my license and a great little Yaesu handheld radio, but rarely use it. I need some coaching in how to use the radio... it's been so long. Last fall my son-in-law programmed all the Seattle area repeaters in it for me, but now I'm in the Palm Springs area. Maybe when we get home, I'll start using it again.

CONGRATULATIONS!! That is great! And what a great find that thrift shop is!! And when those clothes get too big, you can take them back and sell them back! They probably take clothes in on consignment.

Haven't heard about them until today, so haven't tried them, but tempted to order some. I have tried rice noodles and they were pretty good. When I'm craving spaghetti... we have the sauce over french style green Beans, but real noodles would be better and you can't beat 0 calories!

eShop For The Miracle Shirataki Noodle Forgot where I heard about this site, but... Japanese noodles, 0 calories.

Do you think anyone but Ellen would buy one???

Come back and tell us what happened!!?? And, someone please tell me what King Cake is??!!

You may be forced to invest in a snowmobile!!

Our youngest son is down there on a painting job (locomotives). I sure hope his boss keeps him reigned in.. he has a history of being a party animal and he's been doing so well! I forgot about Mardi Gras!!

Thanks! I am always changing my hairstyle!! I have it spiked now!! Well, I COULD drive that RV if I were allowed to! DH is a control freak. I had to drive it for... maybe 30 yards once last year. I couldn't convince him that he was blocking a driveway when we were at a truck stop and he went inside to pay for our gas. So, within a few minutes, I was trying to find the extra keys so I could move it out of the way. I'd be perfectly comfortable driving it if he'd let me! I told him he needs to let me get some practice. What if we wake up one morning and he's too sick to drive and we HAVE TO move on?? Congrats, Kentucky!! That's great news.

Thanks for the compliments!! Feeling better. A long way to go yet, but making progress and it's exciting! Yes, that's our RV. We've been RVing for 8-9 years now. First, just weekends and vacations, but we've been retired for almost 5 years and the trips have gotten longer and longer. This trip we left home Nov. 1st & expect to be back home about April 15ish. If your hubby wants to give it a try, rent one for a week or so & see how you like it. Believe me, this is not "roughing it"!! We're spending the winter in Desert Hot Springs CA, near Palm Springs. No bugs here! Road runners and hummingbirds! RV parks these days have wi-fi, cable, etc. We even have a phone installed when we're going to be in the same place for several months. This park we've stayed in for the past three winters has pools/spas fed from underground hot springs. So even on chilly days (like 45 deg this a..m.), we're still in the pool! This is a Christian park with a great chapel program... 2 services on Sunday mornings Jan-Mar, 4 day Bible Conference coming up next week with special speaker, several mission trips to Mexico each winter, lots of good entertainment including several gospel groups. But even before we discovered this place, we very much enjoyed the whole RV thing.

Good Morning to you, too, and all our band buddies! It IS a beautiful morning, but a little chilly. We're off to the pool soon, however. No wind, so it should be tolerable! So glad you are able to get some food down now! And your morning coffee!! That's important!! I still have vivid memories of my "caffeine" experience at the time of surgery and it was not fun! First dietician told me NO CAFFEINE! So I was drinking decaf for about FOUR WEEKS!! It was awful! Then at my first post-op appt I asked the PA if I could ever have caffeine again & she says "who told you no caffeine?? That's not the doctor's policy!" I was ready to go fiind that dietician and strangle her!! I just have one cup each morning, but it's ESSENTIAL! Noticed your ticker this morning.... 70 LB!! Congrats!! That's GREAT!!

Yes, I started out as LPN, then went back & got my Assoc Deg/RN ten years later. Did a lot of private duty care in the 80's up in WA state. Last job was pre-cert at two different insurance companies. Prudential sold their healthcare business to Aetna in 1999 and within 6 months they'd eliminated 13 LPN/RN jobs in our office including mine. Knees were too bad to do floor work any more, pre-cert jobs were going to non-licensed people. I ended up on disability. You're a trooper to still be doing that kind of work! Tough stuff.

So, did the yogurt go down okay?? How about dinner?? More soup??? Someone just posted a really good sounding recipe for a veggie/cheese soup. It has Velveeta in it, though. Wonder about the calories. Probably could use shredded 2% or something... cheddar, maybe mozarella. Think I might try it even though I'm not on soft/mushie, etc.. .right now. Weigh in this morning...down 1.6 lb. Not great, but better than the .2 lb last week and the .4 or whatever it was the week before. I think that makes somewhere around 5 lb this month. Seem to be pretty tight the last couple of days. Next week we're going to switch to the night time group that meets here.. the new one.

If he felt THAT sorry for you he should've taken you out for a birthday lunch!! But he would've made you drink it! :wink2: Which might not have been too bad??!! :tt1:

Not fair... schools closed and you still had to go to work!! I grew up in Buffalo NY, so once when there was a big snowstorm in Oklahoma City, I was one of only two people who made it to work that day. I was working as Pre-cert nurse for Prudential Insurance at the time in an office of about 50 people. Everyone got paid that day but we were the only two who actually worked!! We didn't complain. But probably about six weeks later, we both got a bonus check for "overtime" for that day. No one knows how to drive in ice and snow in OK and they are all wimps when a few snow flakes fly!! Sorry you had to reschedule your appt!! Unfortunately, the wind is howling here again, so you may get more nasty weather when this front makes its way east!!

Delete the ticker you have now. Go back to the tickerfactory site and redo the ticker. Then copy/paste the bbc code, works better than the html. Make sure you have a password. Then every time you go back and update your weight, it will automatically update your signature without you doing anything.

For heaven's sake!! Have the gravy!! It's your BIRTHDAY!! Your calorie count is pretty okay, especially on your birthday! Stop feeling guilty about it!! Yeah, wonder where everyone is tonight!?? I have progressive lenses... didn't have any trouble adjusting, but DH could not handle them... same complaints as yours. Give it some time, but you might not be able to wear them.
