What about tattoos????? :thumbup::confused::eek::confused::eek:
-
Well, we could be like the Biggest Loser guys ... remember they went to Vegas for the weekend and they all got tattoos???? We could get tattoos on the Mall of America weekend!!! DH would absolutely KILL me!!!:drool: Janet, I can tell you for sure that we are not going ANYWHERE until the wind quits!!! It's horrible! DH is packing/stowing things a little bit each day. Today the outdoor carpets were folded up and put away because they've been blowing all over the place anyways! Weather Channel website says it's supposed to quit by 8pm TOMORROW night! We DO NOT drive the RV in wind like this! Went shopping today.. last trip to the COD Street Fair for this season.. bought a cotton knit capri set.. lavendar, with embroidered flowers! Pretty! But it won't due in the cold up north..not before about July! And I bought two more bras/5 undies at Lane Bryant again! Stripes (apple green, turquoise, yellow, white, teal... and swirly dots (turquoise & blue..like this font) ... probably would not pass Janet's "age appropriate" test! DH wants to know what will happen if I wear a white top????? Easy answer... you will probably see stripes or swirly dots!! Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend! Jackie.... that was a GREAT post!

Hey, Lynn..... How are you doing?? Hope all went well! Waiting for an update. God Bless!

Great picture!! What a darling baby!! I'm like Janet... never been shy of the camera even at my highest weight! I treasure the memories captured in all our family photos! Love to look at them over & over. I now have TWO of those digital photo frames with slide shows going all the time, even here in the RV!! One is scenery... from various trips we've taken, etc. The other is all family photos! Love it! Great report, Peaches!! Definitely had you on my mind this morning and so happy to hear it went so well!! I've been watching that story of the two girls on the Today Show all week. Will probably watch the whole thing on Dateline tonight, too. It's so exciting to see you've gone over 100 lb loss!!! WOW!! That's great! It's really encouraging!! I have to lose another 100+ and it seems so far away! Have a GREAT weekend & enjoy the wedding! I'll let you know when I can cross my legs!! :waytogo: Right now I'm just thrilled with how easy it is to cut my toenails!! :tt1: BTW.... it's snowing like crazy in the Seattle/Everett area right now!! Just talked to our oldest daughter. She was checking on our condo because a neighbor called to say the ladies next door and upstairs were complaining because something in our condo was beeping all night and they couldn't sleep!! Battery on our hot water heater leak detector was dead!! We didn't even know we had a leak detector on the hot water heater! And now that we know about the snow, we REALLY don't want to go home!!

A place for bandsters in their 60's
phyllser replied to Oregondaisy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My thinking was that I would probably need about 3 fills to get me to the right amount of restriciton before I left. Most doctors won't do the first one until about 6 weeks post-op. I had my surgery 7/20, first fill 9/10, second one on 10/8 and another on 10/29. Have you talked with your doctor about what he would recommend? -

I was a little nervous about taking off in the RV just a little more than three months after my surgery. I was afraid I'd need a "fill" and have to fly home or find a place down here to have it done. But, I've done fine... weight loss has slowed down the past two months, but I'm down about 25 lb since we left, a total of a little over 70 lb since I started this journey. I go in on the 14th of next month... as soon as we get back to WA. -

Welcome!! We are RVers also. We are just about to end our winter in the Palm Springs area and head home to WA state. Would love to hear more about where you've been. -
I am getting weepy about leaving with only 5 days left here!! I love it here so much. And then I got an email from one of our daughters saying there was snow on her back deck last night! I don't need to know that! All it took was DH's question this morning, "what did we say we were going to do today??" and the tears started!! Go figure!! I can't fit in all the things I wanted to do this winter and didn't in 5 days! So, we're going out for dinner! We will keep in touch by email & LBT, Janet! It has been nice knowing you are close by! Karri, great news you shared! You're looking great! Congrats on the marriage decision.. good move. And your reaching goal!! Each one's successes keeps us all going... especially me... I have another 100 lb + to go!! Can't remember what else I was going to say! Glad things are looking better, Steph! Glad you're back online, Janet!

Hi, Thanks for the compliments, gals! No more Wal-Mart haircuts down here for me!! And tonight my oldest daughter said she found a good beautician in OUR neighborhood, too, so I'll have to try her out when we're home, next time I need a haircut. Got an email from Janet a while ago. She's having trouble getting LBT to load tonight. Wonder if anyone else is having trouble. It's been fine for me.

Wow! What a difference! You are really looking great!!

Got my hair highlighted and styled.... this is it, slightly windblown!!

You are absolutely right. I read your "rants" and I felt like a cheerleader thinking, "YOU GO GIRL!!" And, whatever we are going through in our personal lives, not only do we care about one another, but just about everything in our lives has an effect on our "food issues"!! That's just the way we are wired! No one ever need apologize for posting something they feel is "unrelated" to our commonalities, because it's all a part of who we are and it does matter to us when one of our "band sisters" is having a rough time over whatever!! I am SO happy to be back online again!! Hope it lasts this time!! I so much miss my LBT when I can't communicate or read your posts!! Oh... I got a new hair cut today and highlights and it feels SO good! Didn't tell DH about the highlights until I was on my way home!! HEE HEE!! He would've tried to talk me out of it and I LOVE it. Blonde blends in nicely with my spattering of gray! I'm going to try and post a new picture because I made him go outside with me and take a picture when I got back to the RV. I wish I could find a beautician this good at home... best haircut I ever had, I think. I like my hair short, and she did an excellent job.

I LIKE the way you do business!!

I think we have to leave Seattle the 23rd to get there on the 25th. Then leave the morning of the 28th, 8 hours to Chicago... about a 6 hour layover there and then I think about 12 hours to Buffalo. Coming back, about 3 days. We've done it before.... when we were much younger, but enjoyable way to travel and I am going to book a roomette for the overnight segments. I was hoping to get another July bandster from Oklahoma City to come on our trip, too, because her DH is a good buddy of my DH, but she says they can't make it. Well, the internet was supposed to go down a couple of minutes ago so I'm living on borrowed time!!!
-
Now that the internet has been running great for the last couple of days they are taking it down at 8 a.m. for 24 hours for "maintenance"! It probably won't work again after that! I looked up the Homewood Suites at Mall of America last night and it looks pretty nice. Has a pool, exercise room, includes breakfast, sounds like they have a "Happy Hour" type thing... no alcohol but food every afternoon, too, that is complimentary. We're going to combine this with a trip to Buffalo to see my Mom & sisters, etc., so DH will be with me and will have to figure out how to amuse himself while I am "busy" shopping and hanging out with you guys! We're taking the train from Seattle to St Paul/Minneapolis, stay there for the weekend, then continue on to Chicago & then Buffalo. Haven't traveled by train in almost 25 years! No airport hassle and enjoy the scenery!

Isn't it interesting how we notice things like that now. I never noticed how my DH scarfs his food down... eats way too fast and big huge bites!! I keep telling him to slow down. Then the people sitting next to me at the Easter potluck yesterday blew me away with their two huge plates of food... and then they sat there and ate ALL of it!

Citracal Chews... Caramel, lemon and chocolate. I did a little research on the internet... all those other calcium chewables are calcium CARBONATE rather than Calcium CITRATE and as Janet said, the Calcium Citrate absorbs MUCH better than the Carbonate. The Citracal Chews can be found at both Rite Aid and Albertson's. You just might have to bug the pharmacist a bit about keeping them in stock. I prefer the chocolate. First time I bought them Rite Aid only had Caramel, so I went through a box of those and in the meantime I found them at Albertson's. I bought the only two boxes of chocolate that they had and when I went back for more several weeks later they had NONE in any flavor! When we get home I will make sure our local Rite Aid carries the chocolate for me! I take the Centrum Silver Chewable when I can find them. I have been able to swallow multivitamins and even my Omega 3's lately.. I found a smaller version of the Omega 3 somewhere... I think it was Rite Aid, too. I'm afraid when I get another adjustment next month, I may not be able to swallow all this stuff I'm taking right now. I found some smaller Citracal tabs, but they made the stupid things SQUARE!! Can you imagine??? Why... if you're going to try to make something easier to swallow would you make it SQUARE!!???? I'm getting them down, but only because I couldn't get my Citracal chews. When they're gone... I'm going on a new search for the chewables... like I say, hopefully my local Rite Aid!! Right after surgery I used Shaklee liquid multivitamin and it was the most awful stuff I ever tasted!! I kept taking it because it cost me an arm and a leg, but I couldn't wait until it was gone!!! -
Hi, Lynette, Mall of America is in Bloomington MI, about 30 miles from St Paul/Minneapolis, I think. So far those going are Janet, Peaches, Linda, Jackie, Stephanie & Phyl. Do you think you might be interested? It's the weekend of July 25-28.

I was good...no kids around, no chocolate around, dinner was potluck after church... they ran out of ham, so I only took a tiny bit and some small amounts of side dishes. Scale is going down so slowly & I would love to get to 75 lb loss by the time I see my dr's pa next month!
-
We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for sure on Wed.!

Online this morning!! Yippee! Never know how long it will last!! Yes, it's good to see Lynette & Chim back again! Watching people eat.... an eye opener, huh??!! We had a potluck after church yesterday (AGAIN). I did pretty good.... I'm very selective at these things now. Unfortunately, they didn't anticipate how many people would show up and had only 2 hams for over 200 people, so I had only a very small piece & by the time DH went through the line it was gone. So I took about a tsp of a couple of kinds of veggies, teeny bit of potatoes, salad, etc. and DH brought me a bite of carrot cake... I left most of the frosting. So I'm sitting there slowly eating my little bit of stuff when this couple sits down to my left and they each had TWO plates of food!! Regular size plates! One was filled with almost all desserts! And the othere was piled about two inches high with stuff. Her potato salad alone was more than I had on my entire plate. And as we sat there and chatted, she ate the WHOLE thing.. and him, too! They both cleaned BOTH plates! Unbelievable! At my worst, I don't think I ever ate that much at a sitting. She was kind of overweight, but not morbidly so. We are all made of the same mold, I think... Cadbury Cream Eggs....Oh, my!! And green shakes from McD's.. two of my very favorite things. No temptations around here this Easter weekend... no chocolate, and just that potluck lunch, so I had a healthy weekend. Never mind... it was a very tiny piece of carrot cake!! Almost time to go to water aerobics. I better get off the computer soon!

You did good. We need to figure out how to get that avatar to where you want it!! And, no, I can't get rid of the glasses for you! I like them!!
