Try not to be discouraged. I don't know what your stats are. Starting weight, etc...? I go this afternoon for my 2 wk appt and am guessing I'll be about the same loss as you.

MIJourney replied to kiwi17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have a pair of button down levis from the 70's. Last time they fit was circa '85 after my 2nd child was born. Not sure if I'll be back in those but would be crazy! -

Good job on going in the closet;) Yesterday I started a pile of "winter"clothes that I won't be ever wearing again! I too have a some smaller sizes just hanging around waiting for me. -
Coughing a few days post op
MIJourney replied to heatwhip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can still use the spirometer too if you brought it home. -
Mine was considered outpatient as was my gallbladder removal 20 years ago but I knew in both instances I would be staying overnight. In the case of the sleeve I was told the room would be held for a 2 night stay and depending how I was doing I may be able to leave after 1 night. I was doing ok and chose to go home but could have stayed the 2nd night.

Pain in center of chest after drinking.
MIJourney replied to Sleevedmedic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd say it's pretty normal. I had it after each sip for at least 4 days out. Got better each day. Gone now when drinking liquids. -

weight loss during pre-op
MIJourney replied to jenger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lost 11 lbs in my 13 days prior to surgery but pretty sure it all came back on at the hospital due to IV fluids and air pumped into my abdomen for surgery. -
Has anyone one tried throat numbing?
MIJourney replied to Wags's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't recall a sore throat but did have a dry mouth and was give a mouth swab. My Dr won't allow gum or mints the 1st 2 weeks just in case they are accidently swallowed. -
headed to this sleep study
MIJourney replied to newlife27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually had a sleep study seperate from the whole sleeve process. I only made it til 1 am. Took my pillows and ran away:) They acutally got results from the 3 hrs I was kinda asleep. -
Congratulations to both of you! Hard work and awesome results!

Sleeved 5/16/13 but weight loss is slow
MIJourney replied to KrysMom271's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You probably gained in the hospital due to IV and air pumped in to inflate your abdomen for surgery. I know alot of people have said they gain up to 10 lbs. I didn't weigh in after surgery or since as I had felt bloated still. Trying to hold off til my 2 wk appt next Weds:) So you have probably lost more than that 1 lb overall. -
Half the man i used to be. Litterally
MIJourney replied to ertlandia's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I applaud you! You are definitely a role model. -
They gave me anti-nausea meds in pre-op and then in my IV once I was knocked out. Sent me home with a RX for them also.

Grand Haven office probably not as busy as Grand Rapids office but I turned in my paperwork on a Thurs & was called with approval on Mon. They wanted to schedule surgery in 2 weeks but I had to do 4 weeks so I could arrange time off from work.

Back at Work & I had an increase in my appetite
MIJourney replied to Dallas Curvy Girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I go back 5/30 day after my 2 week appt. Same day I go from liquids to full liquids which dietitician said will have a few inclusions. Interested to see what others reply. -
Congrats on your weight loss. Mine was 5/15 but I'm afraid to weigh myself as I know I must have gained in the hospital. Hope I see results when I do. Liquids started going down much easier for me yesterday & today. Good luck!
