New Whey Liquid Protein. Very Funny
MIJourney replied to fatnomo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I've had a couple shakes tastes like battery acid which of course I have never drunk. I plan to bring them to my 1st support group meeting next week and offer them up to whoever wants them. -
Going to make this today! Figure it will be good to bring to work this week too.

Feeling discouraged...
MIJourney replied to angiemorda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better. I was told to concentrate on liquids the 1st couple of weeks so you don't get dehydrated. I didn't hit my quota for liquids or no where near my quota for protein but was told at my 2 week appt it's normal not to for protein. Just do the best you can do. SF popsicles and chicken broth were my go-to's at that time. Hang in there!!! -

15 DAYS POSTOP FOLLOWUP
MIJourney replied to bandtovsgdone52813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job on the weight loss! -
Let the water hit your back. I didn't scrub where my incisions were but let the soap and suds just run over them.
-
I took them for a couple of days when I got home but not as many as were prescribed. Mine was 2 pills every 4 hrs and I took 1 pill twice a day. Then took a couple more days only when going to bed. So maybe 4 days total. Everyone is different though. Some have more pain than others. Good luck!

2-3 post opers... ? or older

Just over 3 weeks out and drinking pretty normal again. Not chugging but no longer taking small sips. Asked my Dr at 2 week visit if it would be a problem for my sleeve or progress by drinking this way. He said as long as it's no-cal or lo-cal, no problem. Liquids pass through the sleeve pretty quickly. But all Drs are different:) -
Twins and still losing wieght!! Triple Bonus!!
-
I was getting 90+ g of protein on my pre-op diet and getting approx 55-60g a day now with dietitician goal of 60-90g per day. Not sure how much you are wondering is too much?
-
Good luck to you. This board is a very good source of information 24 hrs a day:)
-
I didn't do a road trip but probably will depend on your Drs diet progression. I was still on liquids at 2 weeks out and that was the day I went back to work and also went to full liquids which included cottage cheese, refried beans, yogurt, etc... Since it was my 1st day back at work I was hesitant about adding those items as I didn't know how my sleeve would react to them. I did try them and all went well;)

Prescription Questions
MIJourney replied to twsport's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking 9 or 10 pills daily pre-op and when discharged I was taking 2 per day!! At my 2 week appt they added 1/2 a pill back for bp. None were a problem to swallow. -
Thanks! Saw them at the store. Bought 2 different kinds since surgery and one tasted like battery acid and the other not worth drinking another,

Is this the brand of shakes you drink? http://premierprotein.com/

My 3 week out serving size cottage cheese & refried beans is 1/2 cup.
-
I'm not a revision. Sleeved 3 weeks ago. Drinking is no problem for me now. Still on full liquids but it includes cottage cheese, refried beans, yogurt, etc... Serving size is 1/2 c. Might take a little while but is just right for me.
-
I slept on my side the 2nd night. 1st night I was still in the hospital and slept on and off on my back since I had my IV hooked up.
-
Wow! 3 days post-op is so much better than 2 days post-op!

3 weeks out now and if I hadn't gone through it I wouldn't have known I had major surgery -
You lost 21 lbs in 10 days? What is your starting weight?
