Breaking your scale is not a bad thing! I waited til my 2 week check up to weigh in:) -
How soon did you go bak to work?
MIJourney replied to slocin12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work in a medical building probably 75% desk work/25% running around. No heavy lifting. I took off 2 weeks and it was perfect for me but everyone is different and you'll get a range of answers. My dr suggested 2 weeks so that's what I went with. -
All docs have different guidelines. Mine allowed decaf and at 6 month post-op said I could try caf again and see how it went.

Congratulations on the 100 lb loss!! You look HAPPY and amazing!

after the surgery
MIJourney replied to allbeast1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It can be near impossible for some to hit those Protein numbers the first 2 weeks! My Dr and nut told me to concentrate on getting liquids in so not to become dehydrated so I was supplementing with drinking chicken broth & eating SF popsicles while trying to sip liquids. The numbers will get easier to hit in the weeks ahead. Just don't get dehydrated and good luck with your journey! -
How do I wean myself off of coffee?
MIJourney replied to VegasGuitarGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed de-caf coffee & tea post surgery. I actually switched over a couple weeks pre-surgery. At my 6 month check up I was cleared to try caffeine & carbonation to see how it went. I drink both caf and de-caf coffee now. Have not tried pop and probably won't get back into that habit but have had some 0 cal-0 sodium sparkling raspberry water and that has been a refreshing addition in small quantities. -

Great job and much more fun when you look at clothes now. Just did ANOTHER sweep of my closet and have about 20 more items that are too big. My wearable wardrobe is minimal but I'm ok with that for a while longer! -
BIG difference so soon!! Good for you!

Hit my 9 month mark--almost to goal weight before/after photos
MIJourney replied to Suko67's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This too shall pass! It was 4 months before I could drink water without feeling like someone tossed a rock in a pond to create waves in the water. I kept trying each day with a few sips and finally it just happened. Now I can pretty much drink as before surgery. Was not sure it was going to be that way again since it took so long. I had no problem drinking hot decaf coffee or tea but could not do room temp (my usual) or iced beverages. Weird but didn't want you too think it was permanent! Good luck with your journey! -

Great job!!! You look much younger! Where's the pics of both of you? -
You will be able to increase both your Protein and fluids soon. The first 2 weeks I couldn't reach my goals at all in those. My Dr said to concentrate on fluids so I wouldn't get dehydrated. The worst is over for both of you. Each day will get better! The time goes by so quickly when you look back at it. Good luck in your journeys!
-

On the lighter side my singing has not been affected by surgery. Sounded like crap before and still sound the same though it doesn't stop me from singing every day!!! -
