I have always been a bigger individual. As a child I was always the bigger kid in the group. I began my weight loss journey in 2004 from 217lbs to 185lbs so I could join the Airforce. Upon joining in 2005 I was 185lbs and when I separated in 2009 I was 250lbs. I rapidly began to climb the chart and on 3/11/2013 I was at my largest which was 319lbs. I have undergone drastic body changes within this time frame. For a while, every time one of my childhood/ school age friends would see me they would have to do a double take. I thought about the VSG back in 2011 and was discouraged after being told by insurance I had to wait 6 months. When I finally had some lab work done in 1/2013 the results came back shocking. Pre diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol, and vitamin B Defiency. At that moment, I knew the VSG was the correct choice. I was confirmed, did a 3 week liquid diet, had my procedure performed on 4/8/2013. I have lost 42lbs thus far and am looking forward to losing about 95 more lbs. Best decision I EVER MADE!!!!
