Look for another surgeon in the area. The new surgeon will review your paperwork and determine what's needed next. Call your insurance company and let them know as well. As long as you complete all of the pre op requirements from your insurance, the surgeon is changeable.

Baby Steps. A New Life with New Beginnings
melody2 commented on SqueakyWheel&Ethyl's blog entry in Squeaky Wheel & Ethyl's Blog
Thank you for sharing your story. I felt the same way after surgery and simply drying my hair exhausted me. Each day is getting better...thanks for showing "determination in motion." It's motivated me to put on my walking shoes! Thank. -
No doubt, it's very difficult. Smoking, food or alcohol act the same--they make us weaker in the end. Think beyond the moment at hand and imagine what you will feel like if you don't give in to the temptation....possibly how will you feel if you do give in to the temptation? Know that you are stronger than any temptation. Harder said than done....but possible.

it takes times to move to each stage. the first day on pureed was a challenge....I could handle maybe 2-3 teaspoons. Also, it's the only day that I actually lost my lunch, per se. I eased into this stage using liquids and pureed. It's much better now.

drinking water gets easier with time....first week out was a challenge...sip...sip...sip....better the second week and can take a normal drink of water....

Be Honest With Myself

What an awesome story about faith, hope and determination. I hope you are feeling better today. Remember to take care of "you" as this was a fairly major surgery. The soreness and fatigue will pass---remember to take it easy and nurse yourself back to health. -
Prayers are sent your way. I know the waiting is hard.

I'm 10 days out from surgery and awoke this morning to the primary incision leaking. I called the doctor and she said to take a warm shower and press gently on the incision to relieve pressure and fluids (sorry to be so graphic). This helped but the incision continues to leak. I've gone through several gauze pads. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this fairly common? I'm scheduled to have my staples removed on Monday.

I can only imagine how hard this must be. I'm 10 days out and just now holding down liquids. I've researched a lot on other sites (thinnertimesforum.com) and noticed similar stories with positive endings. Prayers are sent your way.....hope you are healed and feeling better soon.

2 Days Post Op Question
melody2 replied to dfdscott's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chicken broth is good....although it does get old after awhile....I tried tomato soup that was diluted with a lot of water.... -
I was able to use the stairs 2 days post op....just take it slow and make sure you have someone to assist the first time, especially if you're taking any pain meds.

Been a while...and today saw a colleague I haven't seen for several months....

Congratulations! The hard work is paying off. The sleeve is a jump start but it doesn't replace eating healthy and exercise. That's the cool thing about the sleeve.....it gives us motivation. -
So sorry you're having a tough time. Make sure you're getting enough fluids. Thoughts and prayers sent your way.

Abdominal binding after surgery
melody2 commented on Lifewithoutbounderies's blog entry in Lifewithoutbounderies' Blog
One week since surgery and the pain is much better. I keep a pillow with me to help with getting up and down. I also try to use my arm and leg muscles more to keep pressure off the core (the physical therapist at the hospital taught me this when walking right after surgery). Hang in there....it gets better each day. -
I look forward to trying this recipe. Thanks for sharing.

This is awesome! Congratulations on the weight loss.

Way to go! It's ok to celebrate and ok to remain private about the surgery....it's your life and your journey. -
I had surgery last Wednesday. Finally can sleep on my side with the aid of a pillow. What a wonderful night's sleep.
