Hi everyone! I am a year and a half post surgery, I have met my goal weight. The problem is that my breasts have disappeared and what is left looks awful. Long story short I am having a breast augmentation next week. My question is.. The Dr gave me an "all natural" anti-inflamitory, is it safe to take? I know you aren't supposed to have NSAIDs but surely this would be ok?

Thank you! I had my sleeve done in Mexico so it's not so easy to ask questions! My plastic surgeon said it was ok but I'm not sure he knows a lot about sleeves.

Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !
Lauradeh replied to beachblondeee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery with Dr. Aceves was on April 25. I was 214 the day of surgery now I am 137. I am a completely different person. I am soooo happy that I had it done, I just wish it had been years ago. It makes me mad to think of all the good years I missed out on. -

Swallowing pills post op
Lauradeh replied to cmathews77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me that I could swallow pills 3 months out. He also said that it varied from person to person and if I thought I could do it sooner to go ahead. I crushed mine and took liquids for a month until I couldn't stand it any more. I started swallowing them and haven't had any problems whatsoever. -
I flew to Mexico to have my surgery and had no problems on the flight back, even flew back a day early because I was so bored at the hospital. I went back to work after a week but wish I had waited two. Mostly because I was weak and tired.

Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !

I was sleeved on 4/25 and am down 20 lbs. I stalled for 2 weeks but it finally looks like the scale is starting to budge a little. -
I have been counting both as my liquids! Darn, no wonder I've been at a stall for the past 6 days.

This is a silly question, but are Protein shakes considered part of the 64 oz daily? Or are you supposed to drink 64 oz of Water plus the protein shakes?? Seems impossible!
-
My Dr told me to start taking vitamins and supplements 10 days out. Today is my first day and I got the multivitamin down fine. I tried crushing the others and putting them in my protein drink..... Disgusting!!!!! Any suggestions?
-
The Dr suggested crushing them but I don't know how that's gonna work out. I'm kinda nervous about swallowing them! I haven't had anything solid yet. I guess I could try applesauce, like a baby haha

2 Weeks post op .. how much have you lost?
Lauradeh replied to cynthia t's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 4/25 6 lbs pre op and 10 lbs post. I haven't lost anything for the last 5 days! I thought the loss would be more than that! -
I am supposed to take the multi, iron, calcium citrate, b12 and zinc every third day for hair loss. There might be one more but I can't think of it right now.

why...what am I doing wrong
Lauradeh replied to Jami<3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat as you! I dropped weight at first but then at 6 days out I haven't budged. It's frustrating because I have done everything my Dr has told me to do! I'm trying not to get discouraged because I know it will happen but I'm starting to get upset. Otherwise I really feel pretty good and have no problems getting in my protein and fluids. -
Does anyone know how long you are supposed to wait before having sex? I am one week post op and really don't have the energy ( or honestly the interest) but am curious how long everyone waited.
-
Okay, thanks! I just didn't know if there was any medical reason to wait...my husband asked me and I realized that I had no idea haha.

Congrats! That is an awesome weight loss!. I am one week out as well, I've gone from 230 to 214. I've been a bit worn out and the Dr told me to walk on the treadmill or outside for 15 minutes. I haven't tried it yet but he said it would actually help me be less tired.

I am so nervous and excited! I fly tomorrow to Mexico for my surgery with Dr. Aceves. I was supposed to have my pre-op tests done on Thursday and surgery on Fri. They called to see if I would have the surgery Thurs afternoon. I was fine since it would give me another day in the hospital. I am a little worried about the flight back home and how I will be feeling. We live in Tennessee so it is a pretty long flight with a layover. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to make it easier or more comfortable? I really don't want to spend 4 hours in misery. Also, I have been curious about chewing gum, is it allowed after surgery? I think I would feel better if I could chew on something!

Whats the hardest part for you?!
Lauradeh replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you so much for replying! It makes me so happy to hear that I will eventually be able to enjoy wine again! I have been in mourning for several weeks thinking that I would never be able to have another drink. I guess I didn't realize what would be added back into my diet. I am less than 2 weeks from my surgery and very excited. This week I plan on buying my Vitamins and liquids so I will have them ready when I get home. It is so hard to imagine what surgery and after will be like. I'm sure I will have to turn to this forum often to save my sanity! -

Thank you Stefanie, I will keep that in mind. I am very excited to have this done and my husband is very supportive. I do however have 2 teenage daughters that are not quite as supportive. They don't understand why I would take a surgical risk when I can diet and exercise. -

I am having VGS surgery on April 26. My biggest fear is the fact that all of me and my husbands socializing revolves around meals and eating out.(which is why I'm fat) I am worried about the life style change for both of us. I am also worried about the flabby skin and hair loss but I can deal with that when the time comes. Right now I have such mixed emotions, mostly excited but nervous that something will happen to me during surgery and my kids will suffer.
