Eight weeks out and notice change in appetite
cocosammy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have noticed a big change in appetite the last few days. Did anybody else notice a change after two months and if so how long did it last and what did you do? The thought of food makes me nauseous. Thanks for any help. -
I asked the pharmacist at Target and he orders it for me at no extra charge. Now I just call it in to him and he orders it and is in the next day. They really help me a lot.

How do you feel 3 months out
cocosammy replied to wannabeskinnyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am four weeks out today and feel great. I can eat anything and have never thrown up. I think the hardest part was just being tired afterwards. Not much pain. I hope you have a good time with your family on the cruise. Sounds like a lot of fun. -

Need a medication for MAJOR MIGRAINES.
cocosammy replied to Masko5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had migraines since I was 16. After my brother died 4 years ago the migraines were really bad. My migraines mimic strokes where one side is weaker and I am confused and can't get my words out. My neurologist started me on Botox every three to four months. It has been a life changer. It does not help with migraines caused by glares but definitely with stress. I have not had one since thy started the Botox a year and a half ago (the bad ones). Also I had surgery almost one month ago and have not had a headache since then. I hope you all find relief because there is nothing worse. -
Any Sacramento area sleevers?

I am in Roseville. For the meeting at Methodist is you'll doctor Dr. Eslami or Dr. Shadle? -
My husband has been so supportive too. He took time off work to be home with me after surgery and he has logged all my protein, fluids etc. He and my son have been supportive and just want me to be healthy. Since surgery no more diabetes medicine. My husband said he feels like he is part of my weight loss journey and that we are a team. Of course my son and husband are very fit. It truly does make me feel loved and it is nice to hear them say how proud they are of me.

I had my sleeve on 4/17. I never am hungry but I do try to eat. My question is... Every time I take a bite of food it feels like I have to burp. Then my stomach just goes crazy with noise. Is this normal?

Did you have a catheter ?
cocosammy replied to natedinsmoor2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No catheter and no drain. My doctor wanted us up and moving right away -
Well I had my surgery done on 4/17. It was not as bad as I had anticipated. I just felt so lucky having found this website and knowing what to expect. Thank you all so much. I get to go home tomorrow. When my doctor came in yesterday he told both my husband and me how shocked he was at how much fat I had. He said he feels this surgery will definitely prolong my life. He said I should have had it done years ago. My BMI was only 38. So for you cash payers out there yes I do believe it is worth it. I hope to join you all on the losers bench very soon.

Will be so glad to get the surgery done. It has been a long road with disappointments. Finally decided to cash pay. I just want to thank everyone for their stories. I have learned so much from you and feel better knowing what to expect.

Anyone w/ a BMI under 40 and self pay?
cocosammy replied to Linkin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am BMI of 38 and will have my surgery 4/17 in California. I will cash pay. Got tired of jumping through hoops with insurance. With diabetes and losing my brother at age 46 it was not a hard decision. I want to be around for my family and grandchildren and PARTICIPATE in their lives. I also work for a bariatric surgeon and it is awesome to see how people's lives improve. I wish you the best in your decision making.
