    Bittersweet NSV

I hear ya...I always say that my ancestors were clearly not runners, but hearty stock that pulled the cart when the ox died!

    Bittersweet NSV

Sorry about the bittersweet NSV...would be so nice if we could pick where and how the weight comes off...I embraced separates just for that reason...is the reverse issue you have with tops, but nevertheless, is nice to pick a top and bottom independent of each other
  3. Love this...all of these women weigh the same weight...even though we KNOW this intuitively, it is a nice reminder that we shouldn't be a slave to the actual number that the scale says because it means very little.
  4. Good for you! I am writing this poolside as I have my own little NSV...feels good, doesn't it :-)

Look out world, here I come in a bikini

Here is a pic...tried to be stealthy so it wasn't super apparent what I was doing (so apparently I am fine with strangers judging me for bring fat in a bikini, but not for being vain) lol

    Eliptical!

Lol...no marketing speak, that is the name of the machine...it is an "all-in-one" no-impact cardio machine that allows users to seamlessly adjust from short to long strides to replicate climbing stairs, walking and running.

    Eliptical!

Good for you for starting back and for starting slow...as you progress you might want to try a Precor AMT (adaptive motion trainer) if your gym has them...I tried one at my gym the other day and, boy oh boy, it kicked my butt in a way that the elliptical doesn't with the same level of effort :-)

    No Dough Pizza

Hey Don, I tried it...as I recall I used low fat turkey pepperoni and reduced fat mozzarella...it was good...IMHO NOWHERE near the real thing, akd so the 9x13 pan just sat in my fridge until I cleaned it out yesterday. For me, my Italian fix is better met w the ricotta bake the famous eggface has recipe for on her blog...at some point I will be like Laura Ven and have a couple bites if the real thing...just trying to delay that as long as possible because it is truly my favorite food!!
  10. My doc said immediately after surgery stomach has about 4 oz capacity...at a year out it is about 8 oz. A normal stomach apparently has been 32-40 oz capacity
  11. Oops...hit send too early...that was supposed to finish with "up to 3 months for some people"...but otherwise there weren't specific restrictions after 4 weeks...just have to try things and see how I do (so far at 6 weeks everything does just fine)
  12. Every doc is different...but mine basically clearer me for anything I could tolerate after 4 weeks...he said for most people steak, lettuce and fruit w membranes or skin take the longest to settle comfortably (up to 3 mos
  13. So, I decided that I was going to donate food to a local food pantry for every pound I lose...here is the first 39 pounds worth on its way to be delivered to a local food pantry.
  14. Thanks! It is really cathartic...

Weird burning pain 9 months out...

One of my good friends (non-WLS) experienced similar pain that took her to ER 3 times and ER doc told her he'd bet his paycheck that it was gallbladder and was flabbergasted when results came back negative...fast forward a month, and she had her gall bladder out and surgeon confirmed that it was much larger than it should have been...all that to say that the results are not always conclusive. If it continues I'd see a doctor, especially since gallbladder issues are very common among the WLS set

How 154 pounds looks on 6 women

I think they omitted height on purpose...it is all about finding a weight that looks and feels good for YOU. :-)

    b12 injections

I agree w sublingual. The little bit of research I've done doesn't seem to show benefits of injections...appears they used to think that injections were only option for people w certain conditions (pernicious anemia) and for bypass patients w malabsorption...but sublingual seems to address both issues just fine. Maybe since cost is a factor you could check w your doc on thinking for injections and see if he will agree to let you try sublingual b12 and test levels in a bit to see if injections are necessary.

    my legs feel tingly

I'm always a fan of calling your doc w any questions...as far as I am concerned, that is part of post-op I paid for...maybe they will have a different suggestion for cause and treatment if tingling you are experiencing.

    my legs feel tingly

Is there a reason you are doing injections instead of sublingual supplement?
