    breast lift and pregnancy

I'm interested in responses to this as well...I have a similar amount to lose (although early in my journey), and haven't had kids yet, but hope it is on the horizon for me in next 1.5 years or so...I think my timing would likely make sense to wait until after kiddos, but I don't want to deal with saggy, droopy, deflated boobs for any longer than necessary

    Question for all you ladies...

Lol...yes, in your case, Aunt Aussie

    Question for all you ladies...

I think (in my non-medical, non-expert opinion) that it is tied in to your period...changes to women's cycles are VERY common after this procedure...combination of dramatic hormonal changes and fast weight loss. I have had the tinged t.p. for 4 days now...started a few days earlier than normal, but hasn't progressed to normal flow. Always good to check w the medical professionals, but I would bet dollars to donuts (hmmm...donuts) that you will just be joining the ranks of women for whom Aunt Flo becomes a women of mystery over the coming months :-)

    Ignore user?

Well, actually, it does seems like your judgment of what you felt were catty comments prompted the response you gave...you could have offered anyone who was confused/frustrated the opportunity to PM you if they were interested in your take on who was the subject of many of the comments, w/o posting something that many had taken great effort (whether you agreed with approach or not) to NOT post. Further, I think that many of the posters acknowledged and moved on from the 'cattiness' you referred to, and the topic changed from "specific" to "general"
  7. Or...look at them and say " whoa, I didn't realize we were having a Freaky Friday moment where you got to have a say in what I did with my body/life" Sorry, not my most helpful post, but I think too many of us have a default position to assume that we "owe" someone a thoughtful, respectful response instead of getting cranky with the disrespect that they show by even asking those questions in that manner in the first place.
  8. I'm fond of "you know, I'm making the decision I think is best for me"...and then if you feel like adding..."if you don't agree then I suggest you not have the surgery"...and if you're really on a roll finish with ..." So just suck it" with whatever inappropriate hand gesture you desire.
  9. ...that cuts both ways...if you don't care for the direction of the thread either don't post or stop following
  10. I just saw my doctor today for my six weeks postop appointment, And ask him what benchmarks they like to use. He said they like to see patients who've lost 20% of their excess weight at six weeks, and 38% of their excess weight at three months...hope that helps
  11. This made its way to my Facebook page today...sounds good...hopefully pictures load for you since I'm taking lazy way out and not re-typing instructions...plan to try this week

    Who can eat everything?

I'm still a newbie at 5 weeks post-op, but everything I've tried has been fine. Still haven't tried steak, carbonation or raw veggies (well, there was a tiny bit of lettuce in something I ate the other day as well as cucumber in sushi) and so far so good. No pasta yet, but bread, rice and tortillas all seem to go down just fine (granted, each of those have only been a couple bites worth each time, but doesn't seem to bring discomfort or bring "fullness" faster than w/o)

    Girls weekend in AC ;)

    LMAO...hilarious.
  14. I hear you...the best, quickest way to deal is to smile and graciously say "thank you" (I know, that sounds crazy hard)...hopefully you will be able to start actually BELIEVING the compliments you receive, but telling the person all the reasons why you don't think you deserve said compliment just prolongs the spotlight you are trying to avoid.

    Girls weekend in AC ;)

Well, wisdom for me would be to reschedule...I am certain that would have been too much for me. :-) But, for me to give a constructive answer to your question, can you tell me what your pre-op plan is supposed to look like?

    Ignore user?

One of my friends and I say "uh-oh, we're in the carpool lane to hell"...I think we might have a whole busload right now

    How do you reward yourself?

I have always been a big fan of relaxation/ pampering with mani/pedi and massage, but I plan to treat myself even more as I go through this process. But, one of the things I am rewarding myself with when I hit milestones is to buy a few personal trainer sessions...since I don't want to buy clothes yet, that one further supports the healthy new life and gets me out of workout ruts
  18. So, I'm about 5 weeks post-op and I've been surprised at the number of times I've caught myself thinking like a person on a diet and then needing to remind myself, "oh yeah, this isn't temporary, this is forever"....any time in the past when I've embarked on a lifestyle change, however well-intentioned and permanent-minded I was at the get-go, it always ended. It isn't so much a deprivation mindset, because I really haven't had cravings for my past indulgences (yet) but more the repeated surprise at my forever-diminished capacity.
  19. I think tomato soup may be tough for some people due to its high acidity...I have never had canned tomato soup, so I can't speak to that, but I had tomato soup from Nordstrom's as well as from am Italian restaurant when I was 2 weeks out...was delish :-) As to the broccoli cheese...that is the one soup I tried that didn't settle well for me a few weeks post-op...
