    4 weeks post surgery

I completely understand! I, too am 4 weeks post surgery. I made it to the soft food stage but had to go back to liquids for a while. I am having esophageal spasms which cause excrutiating chest pain. I'm just waiting for the solution to the spasms then will go back to soft foods. I'm anxious to try soft foods again. My Dr.'s diet protocol allows only soft cheeses (melt in your mouth soft), cottage cheese, scrambled egg, or flaky fish (boiled, broiled, poached), and mushy non-starchy veggies for 3 weeks, then adding chicken and pork the following 3 weeks, then finally, if tolerated adding beef. I hope that's helpful info for you. Good luck!

    Who Are You?

I agree! We are so much more than our weight or surgery. I'm a 58 year old wife, mother, and professional. I've been married to my best friend for 38 years and have an amazing, 28 year old son. I also have a 16 year old American Eskimo, the worlds sweetest puppy! I love to read, swim, travel, ride horses, and drive the golf cart while my husband plays golf! I hope to be able to join him playing golf soon, not just driving the cart. :-) I had VS surgery on March 20, 2013, surgeon Dr. Tuesday Cook, who has been extremely responsive and supportive since surgery. I am so impressed with Dr. Cook's skills and compassion. I have experienced a few bumps in the road over the past 4 weeks, made it to the soft food stage then had to go back to liquids because of esophageal spasms, but I'm looking forward to overcoming the challenges and getting healthier and more active. I don't regret my decision to have VS surgery, just the opposite! I'm so happy to be on the road to better health. I'm happy to have discovered VST and look forward to participating and reading all of your advice and insights.
