ashleegilstrap posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I woke up this morning feeling dizzy and nauseaus and just plain crappy. I just had my labs and everything last week and there wasn't any issues, I drink over 100 ounces of water a day protein between 80 and 100 grams what the heck is going on?!?! Like this is the worst I have felt since I have been home. Just plain sick feeling... -
I have messed up and I'm so annoyed with myself
ashleegilstrap replied to Camella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried a GIANT chocolate milkshake 1 week post op and found out the hard way that I in fact do suffer from "dumping" and spent hours with cold sweats, stomach cramps, diarhea, and light headedness. BUT now I know. I was so upset and ashamed of myself for doing that but I learned the hard way that I cannot tolerate the fat/sugar content of ice cream malts anymore. I was sad and mad all at the same time. Now I am happy I did it and learned from it. You will be fine and the next time you look at the carton you will remember those feelings of guilt and messing up and hopefully avoid another binge. -
We're you ever thin before surgery?
ashleegilstrap replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost more than 100 pounds 3 times since puberty, each time maintaining for a year or so then gaining it all plus some back in a relatively short amount of time. I am the classic yo-yo'er been all the way up to 351 and all the way down to 145. Lost 135 the first time my junior year of high school, gained 150 back at 19, lost 120 at 21 gained it all back plus some at 23, lost 100 at 25, and gained it back in 6 months or so continued to gain until last fall when I got my first appointment for dr supervised diet, lost and gained back the same 12 pounds until surgery in April. I am 28 now, and down 71 pounds since surgery on April 25th....I am working this tool -
It sounds like a good plan, but trust me the instant gratifacation that comes with having the scale move everytime you step on it is very easy to become accustom to, and VERY quickly. I am only 10 weeks out and had been in my first stall (unitl today) for the past 2 weeks. I even only weigh when I go to my doctor's to try and avoid such obsessive weighing issues and because I never wanted to be sad about my surgery and the rate at which I am losing. However, I can tell you the first time you weigh and that scale doesn't change is heartbreaking. Feelings of failure start to flood and you can't control taht.
