Can a Icee stretch your pouch
LipstickLady replied to Tmitch817's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's easier for sleeves to cheat? Straws give you ulcers? Beans, tortillas and cabbage are ok two weeks out on soft foods? She didn't cuss at YOU, she simply gave a WTF at a weird statement represented as fact. And no, your article "proved" nothing. Uhm...you're welcome. -

Whuuuuuut? I'd agree with @@VSGAnn2014 You've said some head scratcher things about WLS that really aren't at all factual. Just sayin'. And name calling really isn't tolerated here. Please refrain from such behavior. Thank you. -
Can a Icee stretch your pouch
LipstickLady replied to Tmitch817's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First and foremost. If you had SLEEVE surgery, you do not have a pouch. Gastric Bypass patients have pouches. Second. If you had SLEEVE surgery, neither liquid nor air will stretch your remaining stomach. In fact, you should have so little fundus left, there really is nothing left to stretch unless your surgeon left a lot of fundus behind when he did the surgery. Even if you are a bypass patient, I can't imagine liquid (or air) would stretch it, but I know very little about bypass. Most likely, you kicked up your carb cravings by consuming sugar. When I indulge in carbs, I am much more hungry later in the day and the next day. When I stick to my Protein and lay off the carbs, it's easier to control my hunger. So no, an icee won't stretch whatever you have, but it does wreak havoc on your blood levels. -

Good for you for getting yourself in check! That was a very cheap lesson learned. I have a five pound bounce that I allow before I am back to basics. I feel you!! -
Yup. I got that one repeatedly. My answer was alwaya. "He loves for more than the number on the scale! I guess some of us are just lucky like that." My favorite was a cashier who, as she was checking me out said, "WOW!! You look really HOT!! Did you get a divorce or something?" I was dressed for our 20th anniversary date. My other favorite immediately post op was another cashier, same market, who looked at the teeny scoop of seafood salad on my plate next to the teeny scoop of applesauce (I had just hit the soft food stage so my portions were MAYBE a tablespoon or two each) and said, "Girl! You aren't fooling anyone! Clearly you eat more than that!!!!" Yes, I was still really fat. I almost punched her in the face.

I'm so glad my doctor installed the kind of sleeve air won't stretch. Sometimes it pays to upgrade. -

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?
LipstickLady replied to Mrs. Lincoln's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I track my food with my fitness pal and I can never get past 800...basically it never let's me "complete my day" because I'm not eating enough "calories"...my nutrionist said I wasn't eating enough ..but I only went to her once... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App MFP is not configured for WLS peeps. You will always be under calories. Ignore that and use it to track you protein/carbs. -

Personally, I think you are a little carb heavy if this is a daily menu, but that's just my opinion. I am a bit more "decadent" with my menu so I would sub that Breakfast bread with cheese on the eggs and a piece of ham, bacon, or sausage. My snack would be cheese or cheese. Maybe a few grapes, but protein with fruit, not just fruit so as to lessen it a bit. What kind of carb are you eating for lunch/lunch? I'd skip that and sub cheese, but DAMN... I love cheese. If you are eating brown rice, Beans, or a high fiber carb, that's different. Your late late night snack needs to change IMO. Nuts, Jerky, cheese (what!?!?!), a bit of fruit, greek yogurt... I have no problem with Snacks as I graze most of my day, but I know that I personally have more hunger when I eat carbs right before bed. But that said, this is working for you. It would not work for me. You are not me. You're doing great, so you do you. If you find that your weight loss starts to slow or you start to feel more hunger, drop some carbs. You are doing fabulous. Lipsticklady I feel you on that..I'm thinking I may be doing too much carb too, when I do have carbs its usually brown rice or like half of a red potatoe..my nutritionist gave me this meal plan..but I kinda feel like it's a lot of food..I've been noticing some days I can eat a lot...and then there are days like this week where I can hardly eat..kinda weird... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App I call those my feeding days and my non feeding days. Some days I can eat 1/2 a cup or so every two hours, some days I am lucky to eat 1/2 a cup twice a day. -

No. You don't like avocado. That's a deal breaker. -
Are Your Family Members Overweight and Which of Them Supported You?
LipstickLady replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My mom has always been skinny, my dad has always been fit and I'm an only child. I have relatives that have been fat but in a thick way, not morbidly obese. I won that lottery for everyone. I told my mom and dad and both were supportive. -

Wait, whuuuuuttttt?? Another smoker condemning diet soda? Smoking won't undo the sleeve, pop will. Undo? What the heck are you talking about? UNDO? This "debate" was about soda and it's impact on the sleeve. Ok so maybe not UNDO but not help is that better? Jesus Christ go have a cookie the carbs might make you feel less bit**y and defensive. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! So I question your use of the word UNDO (which is absolutely ludicrous, so my question was valid), YOU call me "bitchy" yet **I** need a cookie? MMMM'Kaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy..... SNORT. -

I know you feel strongly in your opinion but I've got to say, your opinion is not fact. -
I take one egg and a **big** pat of butter added to them just as they begin to set, topped with a good cheese. Serve them almost runny but not quite. BEST EGGS.

Did you know you can "UNDO" your sleeve?

Maybe that person just had a zipper installed, rather than a real gastrectomy. "ectomy" means "removal of"
