    Don't waste your money

Something that worked for me was to purchase at second hand stores and stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls. I've gotten really high quality stuff barely used or even new at second hand stores very cheaply. This and this.

    Rant: Rude people!

I just tucked my boobs into my waistband. Added a few inches to my waistline and saved me money on new bras.

No, no, no dear Babbs. Us Trumpers would never allow such kookiness. We'd have our wall built to keep such madness out of our village. By the way....did you not see the pic she posted ? Doesn't look like a Trump person to me. I could be wrong, though. I often am. Absolutely wrong Trump Train all the way! even thinking I could be a libby was the worst insult on here towards me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App I can see clearly now, the rain has gone.

These "straws with girth" that you speak of to drink your beverages with, do you place one hand behind the back of your head pushing you downwards when you are using them? Inquiring minds would like to know. Any person who dared push my head downwards under any circumstances is likely to draw back a nub. My first black belt included knife training. My second came with bo staff, nun chucks and sword. I am one year away from earning my third. You don't even want to know what I am practicing now. That said, beginner self defense teaches you to scratch, claw and bite down hard if you feel threatened.
  7. My best advice? Ask you surgeon for the kind of sleeve that doesn't stretch when you used a straw or swallow air. It's worth the extra $10.

Don't forget to get approval for anything you want to eat POST-OP FOREVER. Oh and the non-stalling sleeve model!

The one that will still allow someone to drink, smoke, and eat lasagna during the full liquid stage. Y'know, the super special sleeve people keep referring to: "Ugh, I have TONS of friends who got WLS and still do bodyshots, pass a bong around, eat fried oreos and lose weight!"

Hmmm, is it too late to have a revision to that type of sleeve? Just asking.

@@jintycb I am SO mad at you!!! I just googled sarky git and it was very unflattering. I no longer want to be one, but I can definitely name a few on here. I've changed my title appropriately.
  9. @@VSGAnn2014 I have a great peel I can get you. I'd start there before the dermatologist. Those are SO rough on your skin. The results are a bit scary and if you have a bad reaction....

I'm sleeved, and I dump. Yup it's true!

Ah. I usually get the sweats, tummy pains and vomit. If I eat ice cream or cream based soup, it all comes out the back door in a few moments.
  11. Check with your insurance. My insurance went with the weight I was at my first appointment. They didn't care what my weight was on my surgery date. I was tired of being fat, so I did my pre-op diet for a month (plus a few days) instead of only the two weeks my surgeon required. I didn't have a food funeral, I didn't cheat, I put my head down and got to work. I don't regret my decision as all.

I dump, too, at 3 years out. Do you usually vomit or poo? Just curious.

I like my straws with girth. I can suck in more... AIR that way.

    Protein, Protein, Protein

Allow me to disagree. You can't expect somebody who's just had surgery to have 80-100gr a Protein daily. That's just not possible. I am three days out and my new stomac can't handle more than 3 table spoons of yogurt at a time if not less. We all do it at our own pase, as are all different. Weight loss is not a race and we all do it differently. My surgeon in fact dos expect it. He said there was no physical reason someone couldn't drink 3 premier Protein drinks in one day (33 oz of fluid/90 grams of protein) and expected us to do it. It can be done. It may take all day, but it can be done.I could not do it. Two was a struggle. I moved to EAS carb advantage at 17G protein/shake and could just get down two. It took me about a month and a half before I could do 3.

You go girl. That's how you do it. Thank you. I think following our doctors is certainly the way to go. Otherwise, one could find themselves following the ramblings of some ill informed idiot on the internet. Oh....and the only thing that's given me heartburn since my sleeve surgery has been ignorance like I've read in this post. Oh dear lord.... I just snorted out loud. I might have peed a little, too.

    Nope. You're fine.

    Water!

Here is where you stated you eat these soups while still on soft foods. I wasn't allowed onion, cauliflower, or cabbage for at least three months. Too fibrous and no Protein. Oh and the beans...had to wait on those, too. Weird how different bypass and sleeve diets are.
  21. LipstickLady

    Water!

Do you realize how much sugar/carbs are in bananas and peanut butter? I thought you dumped easily? I am totally confused. No wonder it takes you 4 days to finish one shake.

    Let the rant begin...

Yup. I got that one repeatedly. My answer was alwaya. "He loves for more than the number on the scale! I guess some of us are just lucky like that." My favorite was a cashier who, as she was checking me out said, "WOW!! You look really HOT!! Did you get a divorce or something?" I was dressed for our 20th anniversary date. My other favorite immediately post op was another cashier, same market, who looked at the teeny scoop of seafood salad on my plate next to the teeny scoop of applesauce (I had just hit the soft food stage so my portions were MAYBE a tablespoon or two each) and said, "Girl! You aren't fooling anyone! Clearly you eat more than that!!!!" Yes, I was still really fat. I almost punched her in the face. @@LipstickLady I love your stories so much. Can you invite us all over for a slumber party so we can hear more? We could all drink Protein shakes (maybe spiked!) braid each other's hair and compare menus. Pleaaaaaassssee? I will get my pjs, sleeping bag and bring crab dip from Whole Foods. Oh dear. I just remembered I'm 44, married and have 2 kids... And a complete stranger to you. Sorry... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hey girl! Me, too! So absolutely!! What time will you be here???

Can a Icee stretch your pouch

You continuously bring up your married friends and your sisters as representation of ALL sleevers and ALL bypass people. Trust me. They aren't that at all. I'm living proof.
  24. LipstickLady

Can a Icee stretch your pouch

I know plenty of bypass people who CAN consume fat and sugar and who HAVE regained their weight doing so. I also know plenty of sleeve people who dump from eating too much sugar/fat. I am one of them. I know plenty of bypass AND sleevers who drink through a straw daily and are fine. Same with carbonation and diet soda. I don't have an issue with your opinion, I have an issue when you state your opinion as fact for every patient. You posted an article where a common person says not to use a straw and a doctor gives them the thumbs up. That's seriously no different than a customer walking into a McD's and saying that their hamburgers are the best in the world and McD's putting up a national ad saying they have been proclaimed the world's best burgers. Show me a scientific study that says straws give ulcers. Ludicrous.

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?

My MFP "fusses" at me for my low calories and macros daily. It doesn't know WLS. No biggie, I do.
