Quitting caffeine. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. " Perhaps you need to go take a poo. That always eases my mood.

I forgive you for the avocado.

Are you taking what we say as literal?I've found that people who make irrational statements tend to be irrational. And irrational people tend to behave irrationally as well. "When all is said and done, usually more has been said than done. " You are living proof. Shhhh.... It's ok. Ignore the irrational.

Thud.

To Maintain or NOT to maintain, that is the question.

Stay off the scale ( but once a month) and go by how your clothes feel. It's a much better measure of your success. -
Anybody able to eat chicken and rice casserole
LipstickLady replied to 1975hoss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm three years out and rice makes me upchuck. Sometimes it's right away, sometimes it's 30-45 minutes later. I try a bite every few months but nope. -
Those who drink diet pop post-op {Only nice comments PLEASE}

If this is true, the surgeon who did her original surgery screwed the pooch. There shouldn't be enough fundus left to stretch, much less back to the size of the original stomach. She should seek legal counsel. -

Cheating on the liquid pre-op diet :(
LipstickLady replied to leebick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't condone (or even believe in) cheating. It's my opinion that there is no such thing. Everything we do is a choice. That said, you made the best out of an undesirable situation. You made the perfect choice in food options and you should feel good about that. Let your surgeon know. I've no doubt s/he'll be pleased with your decisions. -

LipstickLady replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

I bought cute little forks and spoons at Crate and Barrel when I first had surgery to force myself to at slower. Now I use them to eat out of habit. Those or chopsticks. -
What Has Been the Hardest Habit for You to Break?
LipstickLady replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My hardest habit to break actually started post op. I've actually turned into a "foodie". My restriction is great and I eat very little per portion. I've grown to love all the fancy seafood salads, ceviches, cheeses, shrimp salads, fancy beef and chicken appetizers, etc. they sell at Whole Foods and other high end markets. I get small containers and fill them less than half way but there are so many yummy things, I can't just buy one or two. I buy oodles of them and because I can't eat more than a bite or three, they go to waste. Once a week or so, my family is subjected to salad and lots of containers of misc stuff to eat for dinner. -
Too much restriction?
LipstickLady replied to UpandAtom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was my first three months! In fact, I couldn't eat much more than that for about 6. Concentrate on fluids and protein first. Skip the oatmeal. -
Week 1 post op but can stomach solids...
LipstickLady replied to Aimee-Belle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I won't repeat all that was said here, but I will add that strawberries were off my diet for 6 months. The seeds are teeny and can get lodged in your suture line. I've never met a strawberry worth the risk. -
I buy riceless sushi all the time. It's usually wrapped in cucumber or seaweed. Sashimi is a great choice, too. When I go to a restaurant, I let them know I can't eat rice and ask them to make it without. I tell them that I am not asking for more Protein to make up for the rice, simply to make it the same, but without.

All Inclusive Resorts
LipstickLady replied to cseidman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just went to an all inclusive in Cancun a few weeks ago. It was awesome. It was mostly buffet during the day with sit down options if you preferred. I drank far too much vodka. I drank far too many beers and I had a blast. As far as food, my restriction is great so I do graze more than I should. That said, the buffets were gorgeous and I ate better and more decadently than I do at home. Chunks of gorgeous cheese. Freshly grilled salmon, sashimi, pork carnitas, pickled cactus, grilled veggies, omelets, filet mignon, cerviche, olives... I tasted a dessert or two. I ate a bit of fruit but not much. I was so full of the yummy stuff above, I didn't touch bread, Pasta, rice or any other starchy fillers. Didn't need to. Our resort was huge so I easily logged 20K+ steps a day without even finding the fitness facility. I danced all night, swam all day, paddle boarded (fell a lot -- the Water was choppy) and had a blast. I came home to a 1 pound gain after my week away, which turned into a 4 pound loss the day after. I assume that was water retention from the long flights. Eat, drink, enjoy. Just eat quality Protein and skip the junk. It's more filling, more satisfying and MUCH more decadent. Get your money's worth! -
Stretched too soon?
LipstickLady replied to newstacey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At your stage, I asked restaurants to strain my Soup and serve me only the broth. They were happy to do it! More "chunks" for the other patrons. -

Not if it was done right and not with liquids. -

I'm sleeved, and I dump. Yup it's true!
LipstickLady replied to bellabloom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You obviously don't have dumping or you wouldn't be "thankful" for it. And yes, you can get dumping from a protein shake. If it has too much sugar or fat or the Fluid empties into your lower intestine Too fast and there is any sugar at all. Dumping isn't "feeling like crap from junk food." It f**king sucks. I'm 120 pounds and I dump so I know I'm eating right okay? I'm not living on junk food. Rude post. I love how people that don't suffer from something think that understand it. Let's see if you're still sticking to your nut diet in a year. And if I stuck to my nuts recommended diet of low carb and 1200 calories ... Wait for it... I'd be dead of starvation by now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I dump and I am thankful for it. It keeps me honest. No ice cream, no creamy Soups -- things I love but can't eat. I love feeling like (really heavy duty, miserable) crap from foods I can't eat, because like you said, they are high sugar, high fat. So no, it's not the Protein drinks, it's the fat and sugar in the particular protein drinks you are choosing. ALSO... You would not be dead from starvation on 1200 calories a day. People live happily on that amount. This board is full of them. -
So you did it "naturally" but with an appetite suppressant...
