A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
LipstickLady replied to LittleBill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When we get those cold spells, I put my water in a cooler in my car. It tends not to freeze. But yes, it is a tad warmer here... -
A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
LipstickLady replied to LittleBill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The cold is good as far as being on the go. (I work out of my car many days, so...) I keep Water in my car of course, but every day I pack a little cooler with cheese, Jerky, almonds, ham or turkey slices, whatever and throw it in the passenger seat. At the end of the day I put the perishables back in the fridge and pack them back up the next day. -

I keep almonds, Jerky, a Protein bar and a cheese stick on my person at all times. I am 3.5 years out. -
Pre-op diet cheats
LipstickLady replied to Bakergrl214's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no such thing as a "cheat". You can make good CHOICES or bad CHOICES. Take cheat out of your vocabulary unless you are the banker in Monopoly. I chose to stay on plan pre op and post. I was a martial arts instructor so I did exercise a lot pre-op, so I did ask my doctor for additional fuel. He allowed me unlimited veggies and one more lean Protein per day. Good luck to you! -
No, not "end of discussion". I didn't say I was going to block newbies, I said I was going to block newbies and ANYONE who comes in guns blazing and name calling. I am here to support people, not to watch someone give good advice and be called an a-hole for doing so. I understand what you said it was someone else... He specifically said I'm blocking all newbies. Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App Who is "he" and where did he say this?

I wouldn't get near ANYONE's Pusst.

How long does the gas last?
LipstickLady replied to MrsPenguin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was almost a year before my stomach quieted down. It was comical. -
Eat what you want when you want it. You know what your body needs. <3

MMMMM.... honey bunzzzzz.... second thought, my body may think that sounds awesome, but my sleeve doesn't like gooey sweet stuff anymore. LOL.
-
Oooh I'll take those new Lays Biscuit and Gravy potato chips, a big big bag because my body really wants potatoes.
-
Drats! Chocolate Demon wants to be satisfied, as my sleeve is fully healed .... wish I was back in the healing mode, and chocolate made me sick ...... Not anymore! So, I am exorcising this demon. Ice-cream Demon went away.... at least for now!

(So the OP is not from the Divided States of America. She truly did NOT know what bugles were.)
-
Just suck on it till it's mushy. (That's what he said.)
-
You'd have to pull his teeth and remove his collar.

@@Willow818 You're a smart one. You're going to win this battle. No doubt.

I appreciate the apology and I totally understand being emotional, hormonal and hangry post op. I sincerely hope you sent a similar message to @@Babbs . She didn't deserve your private message at all and the name calling is going to drive away those who can and want to assist you in droves.
-
I'm fairly certain none of the above is on the diet plan of someone who is two weeks post op. Just sayin!

They just don't get it!
LipstickLady replied to danithomas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you having the surgery for them or for you? The best/easiest way to stop the negativity? Stop talking to them about it. Change the subject. Tell them you appreciate their opinion but you don't care to discuss it further. Done. If the conversation continues, leave. Easy cheesy. -
I call BS on that. She didn't have 6 people visit her profile yesterday so how did 6 people message her? The name calling tells the entire story here.

I will make sure I follow up again tomorrow. Thank you!! My kids all think I cook better now. Lol. I think I'm cooking for the smell. I have done really well until this afternoon. It was 2 small Bugles and one tiny pretzel...I sucked on them quite a bit- pretty darned mushy! I understand that was a bad move I'm glad I asked. Thank you!!Sent from my XT1565 using the BariatricPal App So it went from a few bugles and a few pretzels to two SMALL bugles (I didn't know they came in sizes) and one tiny pretzel? If you "sucked on them until they were mush", how'd that work on your crunch craving? Anywho... good luck to YOU.

@@Heather Leigh You're another new forum member who name calls and gets defensive and rude when given good advice by vets like @@Babbs and @@Bufflehead ? I'm going to go ahead and block you now and I'd suggest you block me. Clearly you don't need the advice of people who've walked this road successfully, relying on smart choices NOT "luck".

No luck is needed when one follows a sensible plan.

I did all the bad things!
LipstickLady replied to LittleBill's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love meat and cheese. So much so that I have to get some fiber in or I'll REALLY be FOS. -

I'm pretty sure there is nothing in broccoli that I can't get in a pill of some sort. I like it raw, but cooked? Blecch! I like to get my nutrition from food rather than supplements, personally. Takes up space, gives me Fiber and is an awesome excuse to add cheese or butter! -

LipstickLady replied to LittleBill's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! As a fatty, I'd finish it because it was there. Now, if I don't love it, I don't eat it unless I need it nutritionally. Cough cough broccoli.
