Taco soup,is it to much atm?

pureed isn't forever. I get in trouble when I say SUCK IT UP and deal with it for a few weeks. If I can, you can. So...I won't say it.
  4. Eating a scone or half an English muffin because you want them... Wanting to lose faster... Stomach doesn't feel normal... Have you discussed this with your NP?

    Veggie burgers

Truth! My kid is a vegetarian and some of her veggie burgers would blow my carb count for the day.

    Veggie burgers

You'd really need to ask your surgeon. Diets here seem to vary by a LOT so without knowing your guidelines, no one can answer you accurately. That said, be prepared to be SUPER bored post op. Nothing exciting about a few weeks of liqquids followed by a few weeks of mushy. Snoresville.

    I ate eggs!

I am three years out and I still scramble mine SUPER soft (almost runny), an add butter AND cheeese. The whites of a hard boiled egg sits in my stomach like a rock unless I add dressing or mayo. An over easy egg must have sausage gravy or some other type of sauce in order for me to not feel like heaving. I assume it's just because it's a REALLY solid proteinn. I love eggs, but I have to have them prepped a specific way or have them served with a sauce.

No Sex Drive/Desire after Sleeve 9 months Post Op

The sleeve is SUCH a hormone dump and I am betting that you just haven't leveled out yet. It took me a bit over a year to feel back to almost normal. Of course, visiting your gyno is a great idea. A visit to an adult toy store might be a great stop, too. Some different enhancement lubes, a new toy, something that brings the naughty out... Funny but true. There is a HUGE adult store directly across the street from my gyno. I can get the kitty checked and then pick up a little treat for later!

Pre/Post Surgical Plans Are Not Required

    I don't think it's the WLS that doesn't work ...
  11. I wish I'd known how mobile I was going to be right after surgery. I was sleeved on a Wednesday, home on Thursday, driving on Friday. There was absolutely NO NEED to stock up on anything. All I really needed was a big bottle of Gatorade, a couple of proteen (sic) drinkks (NOT A CASE!!! Your tastes might change!), and some chicken brothh (sic). I wasted SO MUCH money on fancy teas, cases of proteen (sic) drinks, powdered proteen that made me gag, carnation instant breakfasst, 17 million kinds of bars, a mega box of SF Popsicles (blurp!!), etc. I shopped with a fat brain and came home with a tummy that could barely get down a dixie cup full of Water. Edit to add: All typos are on purpose. Dang site keeps hyperlinking my words.

I don't like EITHER candidate, but I can tell you with no inkling of doubt, if that man spoke "the truth" yesterday, he'll surely say he was simply "misunderstood" today. He can't keep his own story straight to save his life. What a joke.
  13. Best answered and addressed by your surgeon. You should have been provided......before surgery.....with a diet to follow and the timeline it unfolds when post-op. In that first month it is a matter of safety......your safety. Please confer with your surgeon and nutritionist and get the facts from them. I found that what I though was hunger in those early days was simply my nerves recovering in my healing stomach. Ten months out and I don't have hunger. Agree with everyone saying to consult your surgeon. I would BET that you will be eating soft seafood by week three or four max but the seeds are a while off, or at least they were for me. You won't want anything small and sharp getting wedged into your suture line. I wasn't allowed to eat ANYTHING like sunflower seeds, strawberries, blackberries, popcorn (hulls), chia seeds, etc. until about 3 or 4 months out. It's OK to be tired of being tired and hungry, but this will pass and it WILL be worth it.

Exactly. Even though most of us just can't resist trying to point out reality to someone so clearly in denial (because we DO want them to have hope) it's also about people who are pre op like me finding some answers about this dreadful situation because we are looking for ALL the facts. I'm glad I found the pre op backstory so I know what caused these problems. Maybe this will help people who are already seriously ill realize that the surgery won't fix everything. Fabulous. You made 23 pages of internet hot mess worth it.

I absolutely agree with you although I wouldn't dare diagnose another's mental wellness on the internet. Well, at least, not out loud. You are absolutely right about a lot of your points and my continued discussion here is not at all for the benefit of the OP, but for the benefit of those who are reading, researching and deciding. It became clear that the "lack of knowledge" complained about initially is easily discovered with a few clicks around the internet. The further damage/debacles that developed were not fully explained until further discussion was provoked. Without that further discussion, many reading could have easily come to the conclusion that this potentially life saving surgery does not come without MANY potential and **hidden** risks. Now that we know the backstory and the medical condition of the OP pre-op, it's quite apparent that her case is highly unlikely to repeat itself. I still find it puzzling that she has no desire to pursue this romper room of a surgery team legally but insists on only "raising awareness" on a message board, one that she herself did little to no research on before her procedure. This story has taken on so many twists and turns, one almost needs a road map to follow it. I think the commentary has certainly cleared up what could have been huge misconceptions about the sleeve quite nicely if one has the patience to read it all.

And no, no you really didn't. I know who I am and that I made absolutely the best decisions FOR ME. Your possible judgment has absolutely no bearing on my "psyche", I promise you. That said, by your logic, clearly those who have taken a little deeper look at your story have "struck a nerve" in yours...

Then why sling them? Just move on. Leave us who dislike our sleeves here. We simply want our voices heard. m Why do you want to silence us so much? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I was actually standing up for YOU. And thank you, but I'll read and post where I please.

    Scrambled eggs?

Don't judge me for these questions.... 1. Regarding a sliver and a pat of butter: How much is that exactly? Would you say a sliver is approximately a teaspoon? How much is a pat? 2. Regarding a splash of milk: Would you say that's equivalent to a tablespoon? I'm probably one of the most incompetent people you can possibly imagine when it comes to cooking. I've spent the last 10 years eating my way to obesity on take-out. I am learning to cook, but I'm still at the stage where I need measurements. I can do a pinch and a dash, but beyond that, I have to utilize measuring spoons, measuring cups, and/or a scale. My sliver is maybe a teaspoon, my splash depends on how fast the milk comes out, but it's probably a tablespoon and my pat is maybe half a tablespoon? I cook by sight. Eeeeek!

    Scrambled eggs?

Scrambled egg. Not egggs. Whoop the heck out of the egg, adding a splash of milk, salt, pepper and a sliver of butter. Pour into medium hot egg pan and stir, stir, stir. When egg starts to cook, stir a lot more and add another pat of butter. Keep stirring with spatula, add a large pinch of shredded cheeese ( I like Gouda) and stir, stir, stir. Serve really wet. They should be shiny, borderline runny, just barely set. Delish. At three years out, I can't finish two egggs but I can add another yolk or some diced sautéed mushroom and onion.

    Slow eating

I'm three years out and I have to eat slowly or I risk getting overly full too quickly. When that happens, it all comes back up.
