Swimming Pool - Why not in my own pool - Can I cheat?
LipstickLady replied to trekker954's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed in the pool as soon as my incisions healed. -
Well, this thread sure got a good "haircut", didn't it?
-
This is a great thread! I suggest that everyone who is considering WLS read it. And anyone else who is post op. LipstickLady is a great success, and her thread says it all You are FAR too kind.

Wow. With the exit of so many vets...
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
That does not give you permission to leave so don't get any big ideas. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App I've definitely got a few toes out the door. If it wouldn't make a few so happy, I'd be gone already. -
Time for bit of FUN! Post some silly pictures of yourself if you dare.

I fear a few people around these parts see me as this: But a few of you know the truth: -
Labor Day weekend. .. anyone struggling?
LipstickLady replied to Candygyrl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tonight I grilled some fat NY strips, served with a house salad' complete with blue cheese', bacon and reduced balsamic, and bread. I skipped the bread. I make a lot less carbs now and it's not affecting my family in a negative manner at all. -
You mean !!!!!
-
My sleeve gives bananas the old heave-ho out of both sides. Chocolate', oddly enough, is fine.
-
I, too, eat full fat everything. The only thing I really watch is sugar and carbs. Full fat tastes better, keeps me full longer and is much more satisfying. Bring on the fat and bring on the flavor!!

I'm three+ years in and that looks delicious. I'd dump like a sonofagun, though. PHEW!!
-
Dagnabbit! I always have to hunt for the freaking ignore button.
-
Awww...thanks. I am usually just full of shenanigans and tomfoolery. It's a shame some people just don't get it.

I wasn't allowed veggies until well past 6 weeks and even then, my NP frowned on anything like lettuce as it contains so little nutrients. Tomatoes and anything else with seeds was also a no no. FOR ME. Beans and cheese? YUP. Sour cream? Absolutely (but I used plain greek yogurt instead). Meat and veggies? Not quite yet... But again. FOR ME. I even have that disclaimer in my signature. You know, so I don't come across as SMUG.

Eating too fast.. Aaarrgh!
LipstickLady replied to judy vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used baby spoons. I would eat a bite, clean a counter. Eat a bite, walk to the family room. Eat a bite, wash a pan. Eat a bite, done. -
I'm not nice, I'm simply tired of being smacked down for pointing out the obvious. So...tacos, ice cream, popcorn and alcohol for everyone!!! :D

Thank goodness you don't need her validation to know that your accomplishment was awesome. That said, she can kiss my less fat ass right after she kisses your less fat ass.

Sounds like a fine idea if it's on your surgeon's plan. I was still on mushies at three weeks, so it would not have worked for me.

I'm so unsure of what I want! Help!
LipstickLady replied to jtellechea001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My initial surgeon was with a center of bariatric excellence, had a very high number of successful bypasses, a low number of complications, etc. He had 20+ years of bariatric experience and he insisted bypass was the only way I'd lose weight. I switched surgeons to one who supported my request for a sleeve. My initial surgeon was dead wrong despite his professional opinion. -
Why im not going thru with surgery

I'm happy for you. I don't think you've made a bad decision. -

LipstickLady replied to jtellechea001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd have to disagree that the sleeve results are not as good at the bypass and I am seriously not sure why some people keep insisting on spreading that idea. That said, only YOU can decide what you are more comfortable with. I was MUCH more comfy with the idea of losing due to restriction rather than malabsorbtion. (Is that spelled right?) I know I am horrible at taking Vitamins. I wasn't diabetic, I like my intestines and the idea of the sleeve taking out a good portion of the grehlin production zone was attractive to me. I also hated the idea of dumping, but ironically, I still do with the sleeve. Them's the breaks, I guess. Make your list of pros and cons and do what YOU want to do. Good luck! -
Sex after surgery
LipstickLady replied to Tami_Lynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my doctor this and after looking at me like I was a fool, he said, "Well...I didn't operate on THAT, so...". Basically whenever I felt ready. And to go easy at first. -

Good for you! Either way. I just got confused. -

I'm confused! You said yes to surgery after this no to surgery post? Either way...good for you!!
