I have GOT to get back on track

Listerine is Satan's Water. Nothing is edible after.

I have GOT to get back on track

I agree that you DID get some great advice so I won't repeat it. I will say that you need to make sure you have some "defense mechanisms" to use when it get hard. If you are out, Listerine strips are awesome. They taste horrible and they will make anything you eat taste horrible for an hour or so. If you are home, gargle with real Listerine. See above but WAY worse. Paint your nails because you can't eat crap with wet fingers. Learn to knit or crochet or something that involves your hands and make it a goal to have gifts ready for Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever you choose to Celebrate. Put on some loud music and clean a room or three in your house. It's distracting and rewarding. Have healthy FILLING foods in the house that are already prepared for the times when you are hangry. Shrimp salad, cheese cubes, rotisserie chicken, imitation crab legs, hard boiled eggs... Sometimes when my sugar drops, I make bad decisions. I take that ability down a few notches by not having an excuse but to have something healthy available. I have no doubt you can do it.
  3. Great idea!! I'd like to cull down some of the more specific forums that clog up the works. There are so many, it's hard to find specific ones when you "need" them.

    This is a TMI moment...

I was just thrilled when I no longer felt as if I was going to suffocate my husband when I was playing cowgirl. Although, sometimes, I'd like to.

    Chicken for lunches

Great job! Looks yummy. After reading the thread about food funerals, it's nice to see someone who is honestly ready to embrace the changes this surgery requires even before they've had the surgery. I have no doubt when you finally get a date you're going to rock it! Oh my gawd, riiiiight? Healthy, smart, protein' rich choices. It's such a bizarre concept on this forum nowadays.

I'd roll in it but they frown on that at Wegman's.

Bananas are NOT a low carb food

Unfortunately, it's not that simplistic of an issue. I think that's the OP's whole point. Basically. I didn't think so many people would instantly equate oreos as being equal to bananas, which is the most simplistic assumption. The idea that so many people would want to debate facts and numbers is baffling to me. This is a nutrition topic, about low carb fruit choices. Not a debate about if science is witch craft. Bananas are not the devil, but if you are post-op and trying to follow a low carb diet, they are not a low carb fruit. I am not even going to get into the physics and mass of mashing food because that seems to be beyond the scope of conversation here. I can mash my 45 year old ass into a string bikini but trust me, it's still not going to be the right size. That image would look like an old toothless person flossing while tilting their head. You're mean!!

    Chicken for lunches

So we have this store called Costco' where I can buy hot, fresh rotisserie chickens for $5. Yours look delicious but I'm too lazy to make my own!

And both pics you posted talk about protein' shakes'. You aren't drinking those?

That sounds horrific if I can be quite honest with you, and eating fast is really not a good idea...

Bananas are NOT a low carb food

Ha! This made me laugh. Banana size varies widely (does that sound dirty??) I usually try to buy the small ones. When I buy the huge ones my kids often cut them in half, the left-over half gets mushy and gross and unless I peel and freeze it it ends up in the trash. Wasteful. I mash bananas’ into liquid' mush when I make my kids banana' chocolate' chip' pancakes’. Otherwise, I throw them into the freezer for the kids to use in the Yonana machine. I wasn't a big fruit person before, but am less of one now. I'm actually allergic to many fruits. Eeeeek! I love most citrus, though, and anything sour is a favorite.

Can I have bread and if not why?

I think the long run on paragraph and twisting, turning thought process didn't really pose that question. Just my opinion. And exactly why I asked the question.

Bananas are NOT a low carb food

My surgeon recommended SF banana' syrup in my protein' shake' instead of an actual banana'. The high sugar content outweighed the nutritional benefits **in his opinion**. Personally, there are better foods **for me** than bananas'. I don't eat a lot of fruit, but when I do, I much prefer berries or apples and cheese'. As for the 4tblspn banana'? I think you can mash a full one down to that amount. Perhaps the effort of mashing down that small burns enough calories...

Never forget. Was out last night and saw the memorial lights of the twin towers and having been here watching those buildings come down...and not knowing if my sister was dead or alive, well...what can I say except again...we must never forget.
