Can I eat/drink?
LipstickLady replied to mrstkgreene's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, so protein shake would be okay? Even 2 days out of surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Probably a better idea than a milkshake. -
It absolutely makes NO freaking sense to me... **MY RANT**

It's dairy, right? -
@@kristinehaigh Good for you.

Sometimes you need to confuse your body. Taking in lower calories and low to no carbs makes the body think it's starving and stores the food so to speak. Occasionally it's good to have a day where you eat what you normally wouldn't, like some Pasta or something. It triggers the body to think differently and then the weight lose restarts Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App EEEEK! I definitely wouldn't advise eating pastaa at four months out. Nope.I had 2 tablespoons if pasta directed by my nutritionist. I had not enough calories and food intake and my body was in starvation mode. I'm not suggesting anyone eat anything without consulting their physician. This is what I was instructed to do and it worked well for me Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App Have at it, but **I** wouldn't recommend it to someone at four months out. I am 2.5 months out Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App Cool. I am 3y4m out.

Keeping It in Perspective: Has WLS Made You More Patient?
LipstickLady replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nope. I am still an impatient b word who moves faster than I used to. Get the $%^& out of my way! I've got things to DO! -
I gotta tuna taco for you!! And every time I serve them, the husband walks through the house cackling "Tuna on my plate, tuna on my date." Moron. I don't even know how to respond to this. Probably with the same blank stare I serve up to him while he does it.

Resturant Buddy
LipstickLady replied to rebecca wills's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never order a full meal out at restaurants anymore. I can always get something off the appetizer menu or the a'la cart list. Or, if one of my kids orders a salad, I have them add on an extra add on protein' option and ask them to put it on the side. I'll steal a few bites of my husband's veggies and done! Saves us $10-20 when we go out to eat, easily. The only full menu item I can think that I've ordered is a Chipotle bowl. No rice, double Beans, extra cheese and sour cream, meat, fajita veggies, all the salsas... It's at least 4 meals for me. -
I'd just like to set the record straight. I'm a man. Eight inches of cleavage doesn't upset me and in no way was I fat shaming. There is a huge difference between a person (male or female) doing the best that they can to look appropriate in a professional environment vs someone who overly flaunts their body. I couldn't care less if they were 100 pounds vs 300+ pounds. Once again I'm sorry if I offended anyone here. I don't disagree with your thought process, just the word choice.

How long does everyone stay full after a meal?
LipstickLady replied to ceecee26's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a grazer. My restriction is REAL. I can only eat 1/2 a cup or so at a time so I pretty much eat all day. A former fatty's dream come true. -
Do what makes you happy.
-
For the moment, it's late breakfast and, because of the lateness, it's also the lion's share of lunch. Happy mouth, happy tummy.
-
I hear ya. I just cooked brunch for my tribe. Breakfast burritos for them....eggs and sausage for me. That'll take care of me until a much later....probably do a protein shake.
-
Just up and nursing my first cup of coffee...started a couple of logs in the fireplace and my pup is on my lap. I'm happy

If your aunt was mine, I'd tell her to suck my chubby butt, but I'm like that, you know? And you're not ALONE, you've got me!!! Excited yet?!?! "Foood funerals" aren't BAD, I simply chose not to have one. I don't build memories around FOOOD -- that thought process seems sort of bizarre to me. I choose to build memories around friends and family and events. I figured I'd eaten my way to 264 pounds and had more than my share of foood. I didn't care to gain more only to have to turn around and lose it, but I was also so sick of myself, I was in that mindset when I set my surgical date. I am three years out and I can eat anything I want. Oddly (happily?), I no longer WANT. It's fabulous. Vent away. You're going to be fine.

LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
Oddly enough, there was no "drama" intended nor was there actual "drama" occurring despite the flaccid attempts by a few who are constantly on the lookout to point fingers (usually at me). Despite their efforts, it appears that many share my opinion that taking accountability for your own efforts is key. -
