I love being a girl, except times like this. I am doing NO CARBS at all, otherwise it's a total **** storm for me.

5weeks po with pics!

You look great! Keep up the hard work. -
I am not able to eat cereal in the morning because it sets me up for a carb inhale all freaking day. Sucks, because I love cereal. Have you tried (and I am sure you have) something else for breakfast?

How long was your pre-op diet?
LipstickLady replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It absolutely makes sense. I eased my body into the diet by starting with one shake for Breakfast, a no/low carb high Protein lunch (think chicken on a salad) and a no/low carb dinner. I had a few Snacks in between, like veggies and yogurt. Then, after about a week of that, I alternated days of 1 shake with the above, and then two shakes with the third meal being no/low carb and high protein. I did this for about a week and a half. Now that I am on two shakes a day daily, it's fairly easy. I do get hungry, but I have lots of red peppers precut and FF greek yogurt dip. It's not fun, but I know this will make for the healthiest surgery plus I am down almost 18 pounds in three weeks. I've lost a size and a half and I am thrilled that I am off to a great start! -
How long was your pre-op diet?

I truly like the EAS Carb Advantage in Rich Dark Chocolate. My NUT is not thrilled as they don't meet the caloric or carb requirements (too low). I add 1/3 cup dried nonfat milk and that gets the calories where she wants them but not the carbs and I call that good enough. In the blender with 1 cup of ice and they are actually really good. I've been adding my fruit to the blender at lunch (usually half a banana) and they are FANTASTIC. -
How long was your pre-op diet?
LipstickLady replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is my two week pre-op diet: Breakfast: One shake. Lunch: One shake and one small piece of fruit. Snack: 6-8oz non fat greek yogurt or 1/2 cup FF cottage cheese. Dinner: 4oz lean meat and unlimited non-starchy veggies. Snack: 1/2 cup veggies. I can have unlimited veggies all day as well as needed. I started two weeks earlier than I needed to so that I could ease into it and it's really not been that bad. I have "cheated" on my heavy activity days with 2-3 oz of extra lean Protein in the form of tuna, chicken, Beans or almonds which was OKd my by NUT. I do Martial Arts, so when I do a two or three hour "boot camp", I'm in a serious bad way on 400 calories so I add a bit. You can do it! -
A thread for people who dont argue, name call, dictate or generally just be nasty.

Only if you bite off the top half, then eat the peanut, then eat the bottom half. -
When you get skinny, don't shop at A&F.
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
If I could return everything I've ever bought my children, I would. I shared this with them and they made a pile of stuff to donate because they will not wear any of it again. No amount of "cool" is worth their integrity. I love those kids. -

Aberdeebag! Hahahaha! I just snorted out loud. And not in a piggy way. -
That's fantastic then!

How do they look flat against your body? That's a huge concern for me. I would love to go sleeveless. Arms, not tummy. HA!

Quest Protein Bars
LipstickLady replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks! They didn't have those when I was at the Vitamin Shop last time. I've only tried the PB Supreme so far and it was better nuked, but still not that great. I will try the others because as convenient as it is, I can choke down just about anything. -
Keep going! I started on April 18, and I am down 17.8 pounds. I've lost a size and half. So excited to be sleeved next week.

Stomach stretching!?!?
LipstickLady replied to nikie409's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you tracking everything you stick in your mouth? I am pre-op so I can't fully understand where you are, but I know from WWs, when I was really doing it and doing well, I held myself very accountable to my tracker and without it, would have been lost. -
Drinking with Meals
LipstickLady replied to girlrfriday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get that. I am a little over one week pre op and I am practicing. It's easy enough to leave the drink in the fridge during dinner, but right after, it's habit. UGH! -
I think your arms look great!

Popcorn is a slider food. I'm not sure it's a great choice for someone so soon out of surgery. -
What do you do at the movies?
LipstickLady replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never buy stuff at the movies. It's far too expensive, in my opinion. I am one of those who brings in a big bag with Water bottles and candy for the kids. I've even taken in popcorn purchased for $1 at Target (tastes much better!!) for the kiddos. For myself, I've always taken beef Jerky, trail mix, etc. as I've been on a friggen diet all my life (ACK!). I figure after the sleeve, I will take in my flavored water and either almonds or Cheerios if anything at all. Just for the crunch factor. -
My pet peeve is people who start a topic asking a question or for opinions and then get upset when they don't get the answer they want to hear. It's my thought that if you want to get specific feedback, say so upfront so that anyone who feels differently can save the time they would have spent answering you.

I've stopped getting notifications over the last few days, too.
