Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it
LipstickLady replied to RainbowBrite26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not Panera or Soup or sandwiches or any if your favorite things that are the problem, it's your family. Work out your issues with them and your issues with your sleeve will :poof:, I'd bet $300 on that. They may never come around and that's ok. YOU need to work out your issues with them WITHOUT THEIR PARTICIPATION, if that makes sense. This type I crap is causing you to doubt what may have been the best decision for you and I am angry for you. It's time to get angry, too, and fight for your own health, physically and mentally. Grrrrrrrr.... -
6 days post op here and killer Hershey squirts. I mean FOUL. No milk in me yet, so it's not that. I feel great, so I am sure it's normal. My motto, though? Never trust a fart, it may be much more than expected.

Anyone eating cheviche?

Yum! -
Yay! Happy it worked for you. Walking was the only way I could burp and burping was the only way I could get the liquid down my throat. I am 6 days post op and I am am still standing at my computer (work from home, my laptop is usually at the bar top that divides the kitchen and the family room) walking in place while I sip. It's the only way I can get my fluids in. .

This form of hatred for people who aren't perfect makes me sick. My children are thin, beautiful and have a lot of wonderful friends. They love Abercrombie and Fitch but I will NEVER spend another dime there. And yes, this is true, there are tons of verifiable articles that mirror this one. http://elitedaily.com/news/world/abercrombie-fitch-ceo-explains-why-he-hates-fat-chicks/

Is it right for my 18 year old daughter?
LipstickLady replied to Stevenson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
True! I started college at 17 with an awesome fake ID. -

Great point, Laura-ven. My sorority house days would have been seriously slighted and there was no way I was mature enough to say no to things I should have (like alcohol). From a 41 year old POV, I say yes, from my 18 year old self, hell no. -

Only her doctor can decide. I say yes. Four months to heal is awesome and she will have time to learn what she can handle as far as food. How long would the approval process take for you? -
I'm just going to sit back in this corner and watch with a bowl of... Uhmmm ... A bowl of Protein DRINK. That's what I was gonna say.
-
Do you all have cameras following me or something? Sheesh! Back off! It only happened more than once.
-
I had to do it, too. It was hard. My best trick? I sipped, walked a quick lap to work out a burp, sipped, walked out a burp, sipped.... It worked. Came home next day!

That was you snickering at me today a the mall? Rude!

Driving home?

If anything, meet her there and then let her drive you home. -
Driving home?
LipstickLady replied to Jellybeansoup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I doubt your surgeon will allow you to leave without a driver. I've had three surgeries at three hospitals and all required you to have a support person upon discharge. No cabs, either. Let her take care of you. My twenty minute ride home was misery, No way I could have driven. -
My bum is making a lot of noises right now and it's not because I cut it in half. Mr.Lipstick is NOT impressed.

Will I ever be able to eat my Faves again?
LipstickLady commented on adrianewycuff's blog entry in adrianewycuff's Blog
After a month of preop and five days post, I am so glad to have lost most of my carb cravings. My best advice would be to start looking for ways to "redo" your favorites for a healthier you. I look forward to feeding my family healthier alternatives of our favorites so they don't go through the same struggles I have most of my life. Their future health is half of the reason I had this surgery. This is an awesome blog full of recipe ideas. I am still full liquids, but I can't wait to try out some of her ideas! http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ -

Yup. I'm a business owner. Things cost money. My business pays my mortgage. If I give it away for free, the bank isn't going to be happy. If I don't feel there is value in a service, I walk away. Do I love the support? Of course. Do I :NEED: it? It's nice, but my choices that led me to be a fattie certainly shouldn't cost this site owner a dime. We haven't even met yet!

So I am four days post op on EST, five on EDT. Was it ok to eat wings, pizza and popcorn today? I only had one 40oz through a straw but I'm really tempted to pop another if it's ok.
