I am not taking Laura-ven as a role model...NSV #1!

She's a fibber. -
AVON's Genics for tighter skin and Ultimate for lines and wrinkles. Use a good peel, too. The prices are VERY competitive and these products are award winning.

So, I've got a conundrum about Prilosec...
LipstickLady posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had heartburn maybe a dozen times in my life, all due to margarita mix or whiskey sour mix. One Tums and it's gone instantly. Doctor gave me a Prilosec script and I hate taking pills I'm not sure I need but I have been taking this anyways. The obvious answer is to not take it and feel it out, but I'm skeered. I am a week out and still getting used to not gulping. I am still in full liquids, too, so I have no clue how real food is going to go. Should I test my tummy? Should I keep taking it until I get through all my phases? I am a wuss when it comes to unnecessary pain, so I don't want to bring something on, but why take it daily if I don't need to. Thoughts? -
This May Be Inappropriate, Forgive Me :)
LipstickLady replied to futureskinnypants's topic in The Gals' Room
When my kids were little, the parts were called Jeenie and Peenie. Why? Because you never know what kids are going to blurt out full volume at Target. Of course the "anatomically correct" words are taught and known, but what fun is that? If I forced that issue, my darling 3year old (at the time) would have never come up with talking about her "butt in the front". Much more laugh inducing than vagina. Trust me, it has nothing to do with shame and everything to do with hysterical giggles at my house. -
Coughing a few days post op
LipstickLady replied to heatwhip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went under with the worst head and chest cold ever. I coughed up chunks the day of surgery and for the next week. Ouch! Hold the pillow, take the pain meds at night and ask if you can take mucin ex to break it up. -
Two quick questions
LipstickLady replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup. I don't want to explain to a teen bopper server or anyone at my table who doesn't know. My only exception may be Texas de Brazil as I will never get $50 worth. I believe they will charge gastric patients a kid price with the card. -
Surgery done - 4 days post op
LipstickLady replied to JRFuerst's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great update. Having my drain removed was the worst part for me as well. It took the nurse three pulls and I almost punched her in the face each time. Hated it. I was discharged a few hours after the removal and was nauseated from the pain of that all the way home. Oddly enough, I had brain surgery a few years ago, and the biggest pain in that procedure was also the removal of the drain. That was a super weird sensation. Ugh. I hope NEVER AGAIN. -
Two quick questions
LipstickLady replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I won't use the card, personally. I will either order appetizers, soup or from the sides menu, or I will take home leftovers. I want everything to be as normal as possible. -
swimming pool after the surgery? How soon?
LipstickLady replied to ProudMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a lifeguard and I know how gross those public pools are. Now I am a very dedicated swimmer and my fat ass isn't getting in the water for the full six weeks. No way, no how. -
I want junk food :(
LipstickLady replied to jmarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its only a few hours of torture. Carry listerine breath strips (gag) because nothing tastes good after those and/or chew gum. It's only a few hours, you can do it. -
Uhmmm.... Perhaps you need to reread your original (grammatically incorrect) post about speaking with kindness.

No, thanks.

Two months out before/after

WOW!! Great job. -
Anyone want to share a cup of broth over here on my nice comfy couch?
-
I feel ya! My problem was feeling hunger pains even when I was full. That, along with the ability to eat even more, made me a very fat girl.

I miss carbonation!
LipstickLady replied to steph41573's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our WaWa has diet coke slurpies. I am hoping those (once I get there) will give me the pop of soda taste I need. I do love a fudgesicle and a pudding cup, though. -
Getting rid of the Grehlin has been life changing. That was a main selling point for me. I know it may not be permanent and it may be in my imagination, but I feel exactly like I did when I was taking weight loss drugs without the pounding heart and inability to focus. No appetite is the bomb-diggity.

A friend of mine had gastric and she is really pissing me off.
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
You are correct, I can't control anyone else's actions, but that said, I am upset by people who defraud others. I am upset by people who abuse others, rob others, hurt others. It's a basic human reaction. I have talked to her and I will again. I am also going to let her know it's time to be honest or I will be honest for her. -

To Each His Own.....Actress Mo'Nique Loses 80 lbs
LipstickLady replied to nursepez's topic in Rants & Raves
Good for her! I lost 80 pounds in 6 months on WWs and it all came back plus some with the stress of kids, family, work, etc. I would probably have been much more able to keep it off longer with the help of a personal chef, personal trainer, enough money to spend hours in the gym and someone to take care of all my familial obligations so I could focus 100% on me. -
Something *THIS* fat girl never thought she would ask...
LipstickLady replied to LipstickLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed to start 1st day post op. I didn't start the shakes until day three, I had to work up the courage. I didn't start the Soup until day 6. I found the Imagine Organic brand and it's a very thin cream based soup and they have low sodium. I bought mine at Fresh Market and Whole Foods. So far I have tried the Red Potato Bliss (think pourable garlic mashed potatoes) and I bought the portabella and potato leek. I am looking for black bean bisque (no bean skins in it) and I bought potato spinach, quinoa to go in the blender once I am cleared for pureed next week. Here is the link in case you need it! http://www.imaginefoods.com/products Look under creamy soups. They have nothing to strain out. -

Good thing my big girl panties are still pretty damn big. I was a bit skeered to post about my straw usage. -

I know a shake for lunch would be better, but I am not a sweets eater so that little bit of salty soup is saving my sanity. Besides, I bought the best little baby spoons! They've taken 40 years off my age already! -
I just searched Amazon and did you know Ocean Spray has about ten other SF cran flavors? They sell them in packs of 6 (so 60 total packettes) for about $16, so it's a great deal, too. I am so stinking excited! I bought cran pomegranate and cran lemonade. 120 packs for $36. So worth it. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n_3?rh=n%3A16310101%2Cp_4%3AOcean+Spray%2Cn%3A%2116310211%2Cn%3A16310231%2Cn%3A119346011&bbn=16310231&ie=UTF8&qid=1369453999&rnid=16310231

I like those a lot, but I almost double the water. Look for Ocean Spray Cranberry Grape if you've not tried it. I love it even more.
